Chapter 528
Chapter 528
"Don't, don't tell Alice!"
Arabella raised her trembling hand, speaking almost through gritted teeth.
Even without her warning, no one would have told Alice about this.
"Mrs. Arabella Russell, don't worry. We'll keep this completely secret. Right now only Liam and the five of us know. None of Alice's people know."
Bob immediately spoke up.
"Good, good boy." Arabella let out a breath, then grabbed Bob's arm. "Go! Bring Liam up here!"
Bob nodded right away and headed downstairs.
After he left, Arabella immediately lost her strength. Luckily Lucy was supporting her, or she would have collapsed to the ground.
"I remember Alicia's nephew is also involved. Send word to the Nelson family immediately." After resting in the wicker chair for a moment, Arabella's mind cleared a bit, and she immediately told Lucy.
Lucy acknowledged and went to get the phone.
Just then, there was a knock at the door.
"Come in." Arabella had no mind for etiquette now. Hearing the knock, she immediately responded.
Liam entered.
He had clearly been on the road for a long time, with stubble on his face. Only his suit was still somewhat presentable, though covered in wrinkles.
"Thank you for your hard work. Tell me what happened." Seeing his condition, Arabella couldn't bear to scold him and softened her voice.
In fact, Liam had been tracking Zoey's whereabouts this whole time. He had finally found a lead and was planning to report to James, but got the latest news from Marvin instead.
He hadn't planned to report this to Arabella.
But one sentence from Marvin made him realize something.
[We can only act in the shadows. The Russell family still needs to handle things publicly.]
So Liam rushed to Novaria, but learned from the guard that Arabella's group had come to Eldoria.
He immediately thought of Alice, who was hidden away in Eldoria for her pregnancy, and panicked. Without time to compose himself, he rushed to Eldoria and headed straight for Amber District.
Only after learning from Oliver that Arabella's attitude had softened did he relax slightly.
But soon, the news of James's incident sent everyone's mood plummeting.
Now, facing Arabella's questions, Liam took just one deep breath before explaining everything again.
"You're saying not only James, but the Nelson family's child is still on that ship too?" After hearing the whole story, Arabella slammed her hand on the armrest, completely ignoring the pain, and demanded coldly.
Liam nodded.
Lucy was on the phone, relaying the news Liam brought to Alicia in real-time.
On the other end, Alicia listened to the voice coming through, her eyes darkening. She pressed her fingers to her temple, closed her eyes and sighed. "I understand. Tell Mrs. Arabella Russell I'd like to meet at the estate."
After hanging up, Alicia looked up at the man sitting across from her. "Mr. Torres, I need an explanation for this."
Marvin nodded, hands folded in front of him. "My daughter made a mistake. After this is resolved, I can hand her over to you."
Alicia glanced coldly at Amelia standing with her head bowed, and snorted.
Feeling Alicia's gaze, Amelia lowered her head even more, frustrated while constantly replaying in her mind how that bastard Nolan had become a spy!
Alicia had already turned her attention back to Marvin. "Does Mr. Torres have a good solution?"
"James has already sent me his location with a tracking device. My people are already heading there. Don't worry." Marvin spoke calmly, seemingly confident about resolving this.
Alicia had heard about Marvin's level of concern for James before. He probably wouldn't joke about something like this, so her anxiety eased somewhat.
But she still asked, "Are you sure they can hold out until your people arrive?"
Marvin raised an eyebrow, his expression proud. "With James there, absolutely."
Meanwhile, on the eastern waters of Novaria, the cruise ship was moving forward at a steady pace.
Brady didn't know how long he'd been in this dark warehouse.
He could feel the swaying, and combined with the dim lighting, his head was gradually becoming foggy.
"Let's talk about Molly." Noticing Brady's dazed state, James patted his face and brought up a name that would definitely interest him.
And indeed, Brady's eyes lit up at Molly's name.
But then he laughed bitterly at himself. "What's there to talk about? In the end, doesn't Oliver get her anyway?"
James glanced at him. "What do you mean Oliver 'gets' her? Oliver truly loves her too."
Brady scoffed. Probably because he figured he was going to die anyway, he spoke more recklessly. "Molly's feelings for him are just lingering emotions. As long as I..."
Halfway through, he suddenly realized his current situation and shut his mouth.
Seeing him go quiet instantly, James smiled. "As long as Molly still has feelings for Oliver, you'll always be the backup option."
He spoke without mercy, instantly making Brady explode. He grabbed James by the collar, speaking through gritted teeth. "He's just an ex-boyfriend! I'm her current boyfriend!"
James looked at him quietly, mockery in his eyes.
Sure enough, Brady only held on for a moment before his head drooped. "I'm going to die anyway..."
Watching him wallow in self-pity, James raised an eyebrow and glanced toward the warehouse door, saying nothing more.
Outside, Eric was listening and frowning more and more.
He had thought James would discuss something about the organization with Brady, but after that brief mention of Mr. Mitchell when they first went in, they never brought him up again.
After that, they only talked about Alice or Molly, never mentioning Mr. Mitchell again.
Eric's head hurt from listening. Who wanted to hear them talk about their love lives? See, this is what happens when you fall in love!
He couldn't help clicking his tongue.
After enduring it for a while longer, and hearing them inside discussing pregnant wives, Eric finally couldn't take it anymore.
He shoved the warehouse door open.
James and Brady, who were still awake inside, immediately looked over.
"What can I do for you, Mr. Adams?" James looked over with a smile, completely unsurprised by Eric's entrance.
He estimated the time in his mind - only about an hour had passed.
But this was already much shorter than his initial estimate. It seemed Eric's patience still hadn't improved much.
"James, are you messing with me?" Eric said darkly, his voice full of anger.
James remained sitting with his hands propped, looking up at him slightly. "Mr. Adams, you're joking."
