I was sitting in my office, brooding. It's been two hours now since she left. I tried calling her, but she didn't answer. She was probably asleep. . I told Bennett not to say anything to Dad as yet. I needed to get rid of Alyssa first. It was close to five. When I heard screaming,. What the hell was going on? Samantha, my secretary, rushed into my office.
"WWhat the hell are you doing?"
"Sorry, Mr. Chase, but Tatiana from marketing called Miss Sommers had an incident in the garage; the workers were leaving, and they found her unconscious.”.
I didn't think I couldn't; I ran past her, yelling at her to call my brother and father. I couldn't wait for the elevator, and I ran down the stairs. My heart is beating out of time. When I got to the garage, her entire department was there. Tatiana was next to her, holding her head. She was bleeding.
"WWhat the fuck happened?"
"WWe didn't know we were about to leave, and we found her. We called an ambulance."
I pointed at Tatiana and said, "You, let's go.”.
I picked her up, ran to my car, and got in. Tatiana sat with her. I drove like a madman.
“Please hurry, Mr. Chase; I don't know how long she's been there.”.
We pulled up to the emergency room in record time. I grabbed the first doctor I saw and dragged him out to the car.
“Help her NOW!"
“What happened to her?"
"WWe don't know.”.
He called one of the nurses, and they put her on a stretcher and took her away. I kept pacing up and down. I could tell I was acting like a complete madman because Tatiana was looking at me. So I tried to calm myself down.
“ Tatiana Do you have her parents number or someone to call for her?”.
"Yes, Mr. Chase, her friend Mel, and her mother live all the way in California."
"CCall her friend first; we'll wait for the doctor, then inform her mother later.”.
Just then, I saw my father and brother walking in.
“Dominican, what's going on?”. I explained to them as best I could.
My dad left us to go find a doctor that he knew. It's been one hour, and we still haven't received any news. I saw a girl walking in.
"WWhere's Tia?” She was frantic.
“ Mel I'm Tatiana; we're not sure what happened.”.
“Jesus Christ, have you called her mom?”
“No,, Mr. Chase said we should wait for the doctor's report; we shouldn't worry about her mom if it isn't anything serious.”.
"TTatiana thank you, but you don't have to stay. You can head home if you want to, and I'll let you know how she is."
“I'd like to stay, Mr. Chase.".
“Very well.”.
Bennett left and went looking for dad, and Tatiana went off somewhere, leaving me alone with her friend.
"II swear to God Chase, if that psychotic bitch of a fiance that you have did this to Tia, I'll personally strangle the life out of her."
“You'll have to wait until I kill her first.”.
“Why? Why did you let her think she could be happy? She could have you when you're already engaged and about to have a child.
I guess Tia trusted her. I told her everything, including the agreement we had and what happened with Alyssa at the doctor.
“Christ, does she know?"
"II explained to her earlier. I just asked her to give me some time to make sure Alyssa is gone for good, and she said okay. Look, I love Tia; I do, and I want to be with her. My brother found out about us today, and at this rate, I'll be telling my parents. I don't care what happens; she's minee."
"We'll see about that,"
I saw my father walking towards us with the doctor.
“How is she?" Tatiana asked.
"WWell, it seems like a case of hit and run. She has a dislocated shoulder, a few broken ribs, and a broken hand. And a slight concussion. Also, she's pregnant, but other than that, she's okay; there's no internal bleeding or anything serious, so she'll be able to leave in a few hours in the hospital, but she'll be fine.”.
Jesus Christ, she's pregnant. Did she know? Mel looked at me. Then the doctor.
“Can I see her?”. She asked—not before giving me a warning look.
“Of course you can; she's asleep, so no noise. Come, I'll take you to her room.”.
After they left, I took a minute to let that information set in. My dad and brother looked at me. I needed to tell them.
"DDad it's Mine.”.
He just looked at me, confused.
"WWhat's yours?" so I told him everything that happened between us, except me fucking her on every surface and every chance I got.
"SSon, are you sure?,, You just got out of one mess.“.
"YYes I'm sure Tia isn't like that. I want to marry her dadd." I just looked at him.
“Well, then we better hurry up and get rid of that crazy girl for good, and for the love of God, keep an eye on her. I don't want anything to happen to my first grandchild.”.
What's going on right now?
"WWait, you're not angry?" I was confused. She was my employee, and I broke the rule again. What wasn't pissed off at me?.
“How many times have you ever said you want to get married? How many girls have you ever introduced to the family?”.
"Never. This is the first time."
"EExactly and well, your brother told me a bit of what he heard earlier, and the fact that you owned up to it makes me believe that she might be good for you. Just one question: did you really apologize for raising your voice at herr?"
“Yes, she doesn't like me raising my voice at her.”.
“She's got you by the balls, and you don't even know it.”.
Yea right, “Funny but no.”.
“Tia” ,
"Please, not now, not here, Chase.”
I looked at her.
“Okay, I'll leave you ladies alone.”.
Just then, Tatiana walked in. I walked back out to the waiting room and called Jameson; he was retained by my grandfather. Anything you wanted done could be done for the right price.
“Jameson",,
"Mr. Chase, what can I do for you?” ,
“Alissa Jacques, drop that previous project she's pregnant, get rid of it, make it look like an accident, robbery whatever you want. She almost killed my fiance.”.
The line was silent. I didn't care if he thought I was a bastard, but I knew she did this shit.
“Very well, Mr. Chase; I'll let you know once it's done.”.
I ended the call and stood there. I needed to speak to Tia. She was pregnant; did she know? Was she hiding that from me?. Was I ready to be a father?. The answer to that question was no, but somehow I wanted it with her. I sat in the waiting room and called my mother. It would be better if I told her now, or she's going to kill me.
