I took a gun and tucked it into my pants behind me and had the other in my hand along with the flash light. I opened our room door and stopped in the dark listening. Dominic touched me ,he went towards the north towards Mia's side and I went to the east , heading over to the boys quarter.
I took my time and made my way over, stopping every few minutes listening. I heard what sounded like boots. I sped up my pace and made it to Gideon's room. I didn't knock or Call out to him. I tried the door and it was locked. I knocked once.
“ It's mom”. That was all I said. I heard the Lock click and the door open. He had a flashlight on.
“ Turn it off , Where's Eric?".
“ He's here. I figured something is up ,the lights wouldn't go off, they've never been off Plus no service “.

“ Okay Dad's going for Mia. Lock the door. I'm going to get Zeke and Cyrus, I'll be back “.

I came out of the corner and continued to Zeke and Cyrus's room. Once there, I stood quietly. I knocked “ It's mom “. I heard the click and the door opened.
“ Sorry Mom, We don't have a flashlight. Everything is off mom, the internet, cameras everything we're sitting blind". Cyrus said.
“ I know. Let's go. Stay behind me and be quiet".
I led them back the way I came, making sure to stop and listen. When we got to Gideon's room,I knocked .“ It's me, get Eric and let's go”. I heard the Lock click and the door opened. I got them out and we headed quietly downstairs.
We were at the bottom of the stairs when I heard something fall over. I stopped and so did the boy's. I listened but didn't hear anything else. I got them to Dominic's office. His office was basically a safe room. Once Locked from the inside it can't be opened by force only by a pin number.
The office was a different electrical source that couldn't be found. I entered the pin and the door opened. I got the kids in and flipped the lights on. Mia stood up from behind the table.
“ Where's your father?”.
“ He went to get you. We heard something fall ,he said to stay here and wait for you. He said he'd be back, that was maybe five minutes ago".
“ Okay. The five of you remain here. Zeke, Cyrus try to get service or connection. Get in touch with Sam and Caius . Let Them know what is happening. Make sure the blinds are closed properly. You do not open this door for anyone. I know the code and so does your father. You do not leave This office and no one comes in, do you understand me”.
“ Yes Mom. Where are you going?".
“ To find my husband". I Said opening the desk drawer and taking the other gun and putting it into my waistband behind me.
I turned off the lights and opened the door and listened. It was all quiet . I stepped out and listened, it was eerily quiet. I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. This was my house. I knew every single nook and cranny . I knew where made noise and where to avoid.
I made my way through the living room and into the kitchen. It was quiet. My eyes have now become adjusted to the dark. There was no one in the kitchen. I used the stairs in the hidden pantry and headed back upstairs. I went over the kids wing of the house first ,double checking but Dominic wasn't there.
I headed over to our wing of the house and there was no sign of him. I stood at the top of the stairs and just listened. There was no one else in the house besides me and the kids and I was really starting to get worried. I went into our room and grabbed a pair of sneakers and wore them . I headed back down the stairs and out the back door the entire compound was in darkness. I used the trees lining the walkway and headed over to Allie’s house.
I went around to the back door and tried it and it was open. Someone was in their house also. I knew Allie’s house. If anything had happened they would all be in the office. There was an office in every single one of the houses and the office was basically the safe room . I walked into the living room and stopped and listened. It was quiet just like our house. I made my way over to the office and punched in the pin number. We all knew the pin number for each other's house in case of something like this.
The minute I walked into the office I felt the gun to my temple. I didn't move ” Allie?”
