Everyone left and Dominic, Bennett, Allie and I Sat there. Mia and the others came over.
“ You needed us Mom?”. Gideon asked
“ Yes . Have a seat, all four of you. This is Agent Craig, he's here to ask you something”. I said , Not looking at them. I could feel his eyes on us. He wasn't just looking at us ,he was examining us with every look, our every move . They all took a seat and looked at him.
“ You're not in trouble. I just need to get some information straight. Do you know Vanessa Colthrap, Sabrina Michael's, Cole Hanes and Johnathan Tristan?”.
“ Yes and no". Gideon said.
“ Can you elaborate on that for me”.
We listened and the four cousins told him of their encounter with the four idiots. I could see him looking at them carefully.
“ So you weren't friends but you weren't enemies either?”.
“ No agent Craig. We were raised to be humble. Throughout highschool we were always close. We didn't have friends mainly because everyone around us thought that we're the typical Rich kids so we kept to ourselves". Mia Said.
“ We didn't hate them ,nor were we friendly with them. However I feel terrible about what has happened. First Maria and now Vanessa and the others". Maya said.
“ I see. So other than that you haven't had any interaction with any of the four individuals?".
“ That is correct, actually . We did have another interaction, well not specifically us. One evening Both Johnathan and Cole came to our apartment and were stopped by our uncle because he was visiting at that moment ”. Richy said
“ Do you know Why they came?,Did any of you invite them over?”.
“ No. We didn't mention to anyone where we were staying. Johnathan had made a pass at me ,then further tried to kiss me and I slapped him. I think that gave them the idea to show up, however I'm not sure how they found out exactly Where we stayed “. Gideon said
“ Okay. About the Dean. What type of person would you say he is?”. He asked
“ Honestly we don't know. We haven't had much interactions with him and majority of the time he was speaking with Vanessa, Johnathan and the others".
“ I see. Can you tell me the last time you saw Them?".
“ I saw Vanessa, Sabrina, Johnathan and Cole in class,the day I was kidnapped ” Maya said
“ Same for me”. Mia replied
“ I saw them on the last day of school before vacation “. Richy said
“ Same ,Last day of school". Gideon answered.
“ Do you have their numbers or social media handles by any chance or do you know it?".
“ No we don't “. Gideon said
“ I see. Thank you very much. Thank you for your time and help Mr and Mrs Chase. I'll contact you if I need to speak with you again. Also I'll look into both cases, your niece's Death and the kidnapping and rape case of your daughters".
He stood up and looked around. “ This is a Very Big compound “. He said casually.
“ It is. We bought the two properties besides our home so everyone could remain here. It's home ,it's family and it's safe”. Bennett said looking around
“ I understand Family Mr Chase. I'll take your leave now “.
We stood up and watched as he left. We didn't move, we continued sitting there. The kids left and went back to swimming. The others came back and we Sat discussing everything.
Dominic
Everyone drifted off one by one. Tia left and headed over to our place to make dinner. I called Amy and spoke to Sam. He said he was feeling better than yesterday. He said Caius will be keeping an eye on Kimberly Colthrap and the parents of the others, also including the Dean, Wesley and Gibson.
When I got home,she was in the kitchen preparing dinner. The kids weren't around. I walked up to her and held her by the waist. She stopped and just stood there , leaning back and resting her head against me. I heard the sigh she let out.
“ Will this ever be over Dominic?”.
“ It will love,We just need to give it some time”.
“ Sam got hurt. Someone else can get hurt. I don't want anyone getting hurt Dominic. What happens if your parents or mine get hurt?”.
I spun her around to face me. She just looked at me. I can't stop someone from getting hurt, I can try as much as I can but I won't be able to stop it. I couldn't even stop my own daughter from getting kidnapped and raped. I just held her.
“ We'll finish this. I can't promise that no one else will get hurt because that's not something I can control love. But I'll try my best to make sure no one else gets hurt. Mia and Gideon are taking a gap year then they're going somewhere else”.
“ I know you don't have any control of it, no one has any control over it but I can't help but be worried, Dominic , especially for our parents and for the kids. With what we've done Vanessa and Jonathan's parents are going to let this go they know we're involved in this they know we were the ones that did it and they won't stop until they prove it or they hurt us in a way that will never recover from it and I can't have that happening”.
“ I know love so we'll be careful we'll take each day at a time I will make sure we know what they're up to and they're every single move okay”. I said, as I caressed her face. She nodded and leaned into me.
During dinner Eric was extra quiet. It was Halfway through dinner when he said it.
“ Uncle Dominic?, aren't you mad at him for what he did to Aunt Tia?”.
I looked at him,so did Tia and the kids. Someone told him. I looked at the kids and they shook their heads no , indicating they didn't say anything. I looked at him.
“ I know about what he did. When I was at the hospital today,they told me. I know I'm only fourteen and may seem like a little kid to everyone but from being around Everyone I've learned to think and understand everything in multiple perspectives".
I set my fork down and looked at him.
“ No. I'm not mad at your father,I don't know how much your parents have told you but , No. I'm not mad or angry at him. But then he was miserable as can be, he had no one ,he did what he did because he had to, that was the kind of life he was living. I was pissed off at first when they told him when they told your father to kill her. I guess that was when he realised he didn't want to be that person anymore so he helped to keep her safe and has been keeping her and every single one safe ever since that day”.
“ Eric we don't hate your father no one here does . As adults we understood he did something wrong but he was more sorry than ever that he did it , he regretted ever hurting me. I was the one that asked him to stay here , me the person that he hurt, I was the one to give him a second chance at a good life with your mom. Your mom is one of my closest and bestest friends and if Sam didn't have any good qualities in him when she had told me that she was in love with him I would have told her no way but I saw there was good in him ,I knew he could change so I forgave him”. Tia said, looking at him.
He looked at us both “ Are you sure?”. I heard it in his voice,he sounded anxious and scared.
“ Eric we're sure , sweetheart. Your father has become a brother to me. It's in the past and we've put the past behind us. Don't be angry with him “. She said holding his hand.
“ We've forgotten about it Eric. Everyone has a past. Your father has put his past behind him and hasn't looked back since. The first time I saw him happy was when he married your mom. The second was the day you were born. Don't be too harsh and judge him because of his past. Just think about all he has done and would do for you. Has he been a bad father or husband?”.
“ No".
“ See , Because he's no longer that person. Just put it behind you okay we have ”.
“ Okay,Thank you Aunt Tia, thanks uncle Dominic “.
“ It's okay Eric. Your Dad and mom and family,so are you and that's not going to change, it won't ever change okay “.
“ Okay". He said quietly
“ It's okay Sweetie. Finish your dinner".
I wonder what brought it on. They chose to tell him and that was fine with me. I guess he needed to know that no one was mad or angry at his father or him. I guess he felt like he would become an outcast and we would treat him differently.
