Chapter 32 What’s Mine
Rafe’s POV
He’s….uh…” My mouth opened to speak, but the words came out in a clumsy mumble. “No one. Just…a teammate. It’s nothing.”
A mocking laughter tears out of him as he supports himself up on one elbow. His eyes gleamed with amusement as they raked all over me, still naked and glistening with sweat on the floor.
“That’s bullshit,” he shot back, his voice dripping with amusement. “I was balls-deep in your ass and the second you cum…you screamed his name like he was the one fucking you. For someone you’re ‘nothing’ with, you sure are trying real hard to forget him.”
I shook my head quickly and sat up, grabbing my boxers lying on the other side of the floor with trembling hands. “There’s…nothing going on between Shawn and me. It was a one-time thing and he doesn’t even want it to happen again. It's all over.”
“Keep telling yourself that, pretty boy,” the guy replied quickly, another laugh tearing out of him, because he was clearly not buying a single word I’d said. “You don’t just let a random stranger tie you up and wreck your ass unless you’re trying to get someone off your mind. And from the looks of it…there must be serious shit going on between you two if you’re moaning his name while I’m balls-deep inside you.”
I didn’t wait for him to say more. I stood up, putting my boxers on angrily. “Stop talking shit when you know the entire truth, alright? Shawn and I are just teammates. That’s it. Whatever happened between us was a mistake. A stupid, angry mistake…one that will never happen again.”
“Then why let me fuck you raw and scream another man’s name the instant you cum? Huh?” He snapped back, the smirk at the corner of his lips widening. “Sounds like you’re lying to yourself more than you’re lying to me.”
I opened my mouth to argue back, frustration and shame twisting together in my chest, but before I could get the words out—
KNOCK!
A sharp knock echoed through the apartment, and the argument died on my tongue.
“I’ll…I’ll just open the door,” I muttered, already moving toward the entrance on shaky legs. “Check who it is.”
Without waiting for his reply, I unlocked the door and yanked it open.
What the—!
For a moment, I stood there, unable to believe my eyes at who I was staring at right now.
Shawn.
He stood there, his jaw clenched so tight I feared his teeth might shatter, the instant his eyes landed on me, they were blazing with barely contained rage. His chest was rising and falling heavily, like he had run all the way here.
“Shawn… what the hell are you doing here?” I finally managed to speak, my voice coming out shaky. “How did you even know I was—”
“I have my ways,” he cut in coldly, “And it’s none of your business.”
“It is my business.” I snapped back. “What the fuck are you even doing here in the first place? I thought you were with Avery’s parents, making shit official.”
Shawn stepped closer, his presence towering over me in the narrow doorway. “What I do or don't…its none of your goddamn business. We are leaving this shit hole. Right now.”
“Leaving?” A bitter laughter tore out of me without meaning to, my arms crossed firmly across my chest. “Why should I go with you? After you chose Avery tonight? After you left me hanging so you could meet her parents? No. I’m not going anywhere with you.”
“Rafe—“
Before I could say anything else, the guy appeared behind me wearing nothing but his boxers, his bare chest glistening with sweat to prove exactly everything Shawn didn’t want to accept.
Shawn’s gaze locked onto him instantly, without a word, he shoved past me, pushing me hard enough to make me stumble back against the wall. In the next breath, he launched himself at the guy.
“You fucking bastard!” Shawn barked, landing a heavy punch to the guy’s ribs with a sickening thud. “How dare you touch what’s mine? I bet you forced him to come here, didn’t you? Manipulated him into coming to your shitty apartment so you could fuck him like some cheap whore!”
The guy staggered back a step due to the sheer force of Shawn’s brutal punch, his arms raised defensively, cursing loudly as blood trickled from his split lip and dripped onto the carpet.
But Shawn didn’t stop.
Rage poured out of him in violent waves as he landed punch after punch harder than the last, fueled by a dark mix of jealousy and raw possession.
“You manipulated him!” Shawn barked again, grabbing the guy by the collar and slamming another fist into his stomach. “You took advantage of him when he was vulnerable, when he was hurting! You saw him broken and decided to use him like a fucking toy!”
“He’s mine!” Shawn drove his knee upward, connecting with the guy’s ribs, “Every fucking inch of him belongs to me… his mouth, his ass, those desperate little moans he makes when he’s falling apart. You don’t dare her to touch him…not even to breathe near him ever again! Stay the fuck away from him or I swear to God I’ll end you!”
“….did I make myself fucking clear?!”
The guy was gasping for air now, trying to shove Shawn off him, but his power was just too much.
“Shawn! Stop!” I shouted, rushing forward.
I grabbed his arm, trying to yank him back, but he was too strong in his rage. He shoved me off roughly, sending me crashing to the floor, then he turned back and drove another punch into the guy’s face.
“Shawn, I said stop!”
Blood was already trickling from the stranger’s lip as he tried to defend himself against Shawn, swinging wildly, but all to no avail. I lunged again, wrapping both arms around Shawn’s waist from behind and pulling with everything I had.
“Get the fuck off me!” he snarled, still swinging to land another brutal punch on the guy’s face.
“Shawn, fucking stop!” I barked, louder this time, my voice thundering through the small apartment. “It’s not his fault! I came here myself because I wanted this. Leave him alone and get the hell out!”
As though my words snapped something in Shawn, he froze mid-punch. His head snapped to me instantly.
“W…what did you just say to me?”
