Chapter 18 The Gold Card is Real!

"What!"

The words of the female financial officer undoubtedly hit Joshua like a heavy blow, causing his whole body to jump up, instantly paralyzed with shock!

"Are you serious?" Gary Wright hurriedly confirmed, unable to believe his ears. A 100-million-yuan interest-free loan could save over 4 million in interest for a year!

"Chairman, it's absolutely true," the female financial officer confirmed with certainty.

"How is this possible?" Joshua was going crazy. "The gold card is clearly fake. I have plenty of evidence to prove it. How could they grant the loan?"

"Let's go!"

Gary Wright excitedly walked towards the exit with anticipation.

"Joshua, what's going on?" Richard anxiously asked. "Didn't you say the gold card was fake? Why haven't we received news of Charlotte's arrest, but news about the loan?"

"How would I know!" Joshua was also extremely anxious and immediately rushed out.

He was the most anxious one. If the gold card was genuine, it meant he had framed Charlotte. Not only would the CEO be removed, but the old man wouldn't spare him either.

Soon, a group of people arrived at the finance office.

"Call Mr. Hughes back," Gary Wright instructed, pointing at the landline.

The female financial officer immediately dialed the number and put it on speakerphone.

After a few rings, a distinctly masculine voice came from the other end of the line. "Is this Chairman Harris?"

Gary Wright immediately responded with a smile, "Hello, Mr. Hughes, I'm Gary Wright, chairman of the Wright Group. Is it true that our company's 100-million-yuan loan application was approved?"

"Yes, Chairman Harris, ask Mr. Harris to bring all the necessary documents to complete the loan procedure."

Upon hearing this, Joshua felt a buzz in his head and became completely dumbfounded! They were actually going to grant the loan!

"I will immediately ask Charlotte to come and complete the loan procedure," Gary Wright was overjoyed and hung up, immediately taking out his mobile phone to dial Charlotte's number.

"Sorry, the number you have dialed is switched off..."

Upon hearing this prompt, Gary Wright's face suddenly changed. How could it be switched off at such a crucial moment?

He immediately called Sophia.

"Old man, has the police come to the company to arrest our Charlotte?" Sophia answered the phone while sobbing.

"No, no," Gary Wright quickly explained. "It was Mr. Hughes who called and asked Charlotte to process the loan. The gold card is not fake; it was Joshua who falsely accused Charlotte."

"What? The gold card is real!"

"Charlotte has been framed?" Sophia couldn't believe her ears.

"Yes." Gary Wright urged, "Quickly call Charlotte to come to the company, I'll have the documents prepared..."

"Charlotte hasn't come home all night. Even if she's at home, I won't let her come. Whoever framed her should come and apologize in person. My daughter is a human being, not a tool. You can't just frame her or use her as you please!" Sophia interrupted Gary Wright angrily.

Without saying a word, Gary Wright raised his hand and slapped Joshua across the face.

Slap!

Joshua's head tilted, almost falling to the ground.

"Just now, I slapped Joshua. You heard that, right? Call Charlotte to come over quickly. The company is the priority. Don't play games. Once the loan is approved, I'll bring Joshua to your house to apologize to you and Charlotte personally," Gary Wright said sternly.

"Charlotte isn't at home for real. Her heart was broken last night. She went to a friend's place and hasn't returned. I just called her a dozen times and her phone was off. Didn't you hear her crying when I answered the phone?" Sophia raged.

"Then go to her friend's house and find her!" the old man shouted anxiously.

Sophia exploded, "I already sent Emily. The friend's mother said that Charlotte's friend also went out last night and hasn't come back!"

"If anything happens to Charlotte, I won't spare that bastard Joshua!"

Click...

Sophia hung up the phone.

Gary Wright exploded with anger. He turned around and slammed his phone hard on Joshua's body, scolding loudly, "It's all your doing! I shouldn't have believed your nonsense. Charlotte is so strong, but you made me remove her as CEO and kick her family out of the Carter family. She must be devastated. She went out last night and still hasn't come back. If something happens to her, I promise I will kick your whole family out!"

"Grandfather, calm down!" Joshua quickly comforted, "Charlotte must be afraid of getting caught, so she's hiding temporarily. Wasn't the loan already approved? I'll handle it for Charlotte, and it will definitely go through. Please trust me, grandfather!"

After thinking for a moment, Gary Wright realized that there was no better solution. He shouted,

"Then go quickly!"

"Yes, yes, yes!"

Joshua was almost scared out of his wits. He grabbed the documents and hurriedly left.

At this moment, at the Hilton Hotel.

Charlotte drowsily opened her eyes and found herself in an unfamiliar room. She remembered leaving with Daniel last night, and her heart suddenly tightened. Instinctively, she uncovered the blanket and looked.

The next moment!

"Ah!!!" A piercing scream resounded.

"What's the matter, darling?" Michael ran out of the bathroom. He had just woken up and went to retrieve the invoice David Butler had sent. While he was getting ready, he heard a scream, which startled him, causing him to immediately run out.

Huh?

Upon seeing Michael, Charlotte immediately stopped screaming, and the palpitations in her throat subsided.

But her brows deeply furrowed.

She wondered, "What happened after Daniel and I left last night for us to end up sharing a room with Michael?"

With this doubt in her mind, she asked, "What happened after Daniel and I left last night?"

Michael replied, "After you and Daniel left last night, he took you to Hilton. Worried that he would harm you, I called the police and managed to snatch you back from him. I arranged a room for you to rest."

Phew!

Charlotte let out a sigh of relief.

Thank goodness for Michael, otherwise she would have truly suffered at Daniel's hands.

"So, you undressed me, right?" Charlotte asked coldly. She didn't feel uncomfortable anywhere, so she assumed that Michael didn't take advantage of her vulnerability.

"Um... I closed my eyes and didn't look," Michael weakly confessed, hurrying back into the bathroom to continue getting ready, hoping to avoid scolding.

"You're hopeless!" Charlotte scoffed.

Soon, both of them finished getting ready, but Charlotte couldn't find her phone, so she asked, "Where's my phone?"

"It's with me," Michael took out Charlotte's phone.

"Give it to me."

"No, I won't."

Charlotte's expression turned cold, "What do you want to do?"

"Today, you can't turn it on," Michael said seriously.

"Are you worried that if I turn it on, I'll be located and arrested by the police?" Charlotte angrily smiled, "When you harmed me, did you ever consider the consequences?"

"Charlotte, believe me, I would never harm anyone, especially not you," Michael's face was sincere, "In the three years of our marriage, I've never asked anything of you. I hope you can listen to me just this once. Don't go anywhere today, let those who have wronged us pay a price."

"Are you telling me that the gold card is real? Mr. Hughes will call me today to finalize the loan, and my grandfather and the others can't reach me, so they'll be frantically searching for me?" Charlotte asked.

"Yes," Michael nodded.

"Then I can't stay here. Whether the gold card is real or fake, I must go back and face everything. Give me the phone!" Charlotte reached out her hand, her determination unwavering.

Michael didn't give her the phone. Instead, he took out a few receipts and said, "These are the two million worth of expenses that I had David Butler obtain from the bar. If you want Joshua to reimburse this money..."

"Listen to me, don't go anywhere right now. Tomorrow you can use the reimbursed money to buy the Parmela," Charlotte hesitated, dispelling the thought of going back, and said, "This is the last time I'm replying to your letter. I hope you won't disappoint me, or else I won't bother with you anymore!"

"I promise I won't let my wife down!" Michael reassured, patting his chest with a smile.

...

At this moment, Joshua had already arrived at Citibank and approached the corporate counter, asking weakly, "I am Joshua, the CEO of Wright Group. Is Mr. Hughes available?"

"I'm here."

A middle-aged man, around fifty years old, wearing glasses with a golden frame walked over. He was none other than the bank president, Matthew Parker.

Joshua immediately plastered a smile on his face and said, "Hello, Mr. Hughes. I am Joshua, the CEO of Wright Group. I'm here to process a loan. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Finishing his words, he extended his hand in friendship.

Matthew Parker didn't shake his hand but instead asked, "If you're the CEO, where is Charlotte?"

"Recently, the company has encountered a crisis and there are too many things going on. She couldn't handle the pressure and resigned last night. As her cousin, I am the newly appointed CEO, sharing her burdens," Joshua chuckled innocently, looking harmless.

But Matthew Parker didn't make any face and coldly said, "Call Charlotte to handle it. I only recognize her."
