Chapter 59 59
Chapter 59 59
Sheila's fingers curled, digging into her flesh as she stared at Celeste, her emotions jumbling and clashing against each.
Her face was a mixture of anger, hatred and resentment.
Arthur! Celeste!!
Gosh!!
She sighed, then threw her head to her side before cussing underneath her breath.
“Please ma, you really have to go—”
“I understand Celeste,” Sheila managed to force a smile, even though all she wanted to do at that moment was murder Arthur.
His guts.
Sheila helped Celeste up as they both walked into the bathroom. With Celeste's help, Sheila was able to get prepared really fast, while occasionally glancing at the wall clock.
She was confused on which dress to wear since Arthur didn't say anything about it to her, nor did he reveal the place they were going.
She sighed then decided to go with something simple —a blue gown that highlighted her curves, then her hair was combed neatly.
After she was done, she heaved then glanced once more at the wall clock, her grip tight around her purse.
They finally walked out of the room and as they headed downstairs, Sheila turned to Celeste with a smile.
“I'm really sorry for dragging you into this mess,” She apologized, her voice laced with sincerity.
Celeste arranged her hair with a soft smile, then nodded.
Sheila finally walked out of the mansion, leaving Celeste behind.
As she advanced towards the waiting car, her eyes turned crimson, her chest heaving with hatred as she glared hard at Arthur who wasn't even looking at her, her eyes flickering with deep-seated hatred.
The car opened up for her and she grumpily climbed in, then turned to Arthur.
“What was the meaning of that?” She sneered, her voice dripping with disdain.
Silence.
Her fingers curled into fists as she stared at Arthur, waiting for him to say a word but he only lifted his face then turned to Ted.
“Move the car,” he ordered, his voice sharp and commanding.
Ted ignited the car back to life before driving out of the environment, the gate closing behind them.
The sound of the humming engine and the sounds of the wind clashed, the silence in the car choking.
Sheila sighed, her patience thinning as she shot her hand forward, grabbing Arthur's phone.
A move to get his attention since he pretended she wasn't with him in the car.
Arthur only rubbed his temples slightly, then leaned back against the car before closing his eyes, completely ignoring the stunt she pulled.
Sheila scoffed out in amusement, her face stretching in anger.
“I don't really get what the hell is going on in your mind,” She snarled, then bit her lips hard, fingers digging into her flesh.
“But it'll be nice you don't drag Celeste into this, she only helped me and—” She paused, exhaling heavily as the rest of the words she wanted to say hung in the air.
She shut her eyes briefly, then opened it back.
“Fine, I shouldn't have gone against you but let that slide, huh? I'm freaking sorry,” She snapped, her shoulders stiffened as the words slipped out of her tongue with difficulty, her breath hitching in her throat.
A pause.
She stared at Arthur, expecting to see a reaction from him which she got.
His lips stretched first, then curved into a taunting smirk as his eyes finally opened slowly, revealing his dark, unpredictable eyes.
Then a scoff which sliced through the air, making Sheila pinch herself hard.
“Sorry?” he mused, then continued. “Strange,” he muttered, still reeling over the words.
Sheila raked her fingers over her hair, then sighed out, obviously frustrated.
“I said sorry already, please don't threaten me again with that innocent girl. I already promised to change and —”
“You wouldn't have been in this car with me if I didn't do that, little one.” Sheila was still talking when Arthur cut in, his voice eerily calm, sending shivers down Sheila's spine.
But she remained composed, her breath steady.
Arthur then turned to her, for the first time since today, his gaze locking with hers as the smirk on his face deepened.
“I know who you are, Sheila,” his voice dropped to a whisper.
“I know how adamant you are, and trust me when I say you dragged Celeste into this, not me. You introduced her into this and I'm not stopping anytime soon,” he chuckled, then smacked his lips.
“Not until, you know that you can't go against me,” he snarled and Sheila huffed, her eyes flashing with irritation, her gaze blazing with rage.
“That's really cheap of you, Arthur.” She snarled, her voice draped with hatred.
Arthur shrugged, then stretched forth his palms for Sheila to place his phones on it, but Sheila hissed.
“Where are we going?” She demanded impatiently, her voice laced with hatred.
“Another function? Occasion? Just name it,” She snarled further, her teeth tightly clenched.
“My phone,” He said instead.
“Well, I'm not doing that shit, I need a reply, Arthur,” She seethed, eyes glaring murderously at him.
Arthur chuckled at her stubbornness then huffed, leaning back before closing his eyes, his palms still stretched out to her.
“We're going to a grave site, happy?” he huffed, voice dripping with venom and Sheila's eyes widened, her shoulders slumping beside her in defeat.
Without another word, she gave him back the phone and a little smile appeared on Arthur's lips as he inhaled, leaving her to reel over his words.
Grave site his damn foot.

Written in bold, glittering letters was the first thing Sheila's sharp eyes saw, her brows furrowed as she hurriedly turned to Arthur with curious filled eyes.
This was a restaurant and no grave site. The hell?
“Why are we here?” her nose flared up as she asked.
“You seriously thought we were going to a grave site?” he snickered, then smirked, itching the nape of his neck.
“Don't think I brought you here because you actually deserve it —” he paused on his words, a smirk painting the corner of his lips.
“I only did it because I wouldn't want you grunting and creating problems for me all because you're bored at home,” he huffed, his fingers moving in a gesture and Sheila couldn't help but scoff out loud, surprised and bewildered at the same time.
She leaned in, a grin appearing on her lips.
“I sense appreciation here,” she smirched, leaning more closer to his face, their faces just an inch away.
“But you're just too cold hearted to admit it.” She huffed and Arthur's brows pulled together, confusion etched up on his face.
Appreciation? What was she saying?
“I helped you last night and this is your way of appreciation, seriously?” She mused and that was when Arthur released the laugh, a laugh which lacked humor and warmth.
He scoffed with an eye roll then pushed his index finger forward, placing it on Sheila's forehead before pushing her head back with a snicker.
“Get away from me, you insect.” he snarled.
“Why did you think I'll bring you here to appreciate you? Never asked for your help so get your facts straight before saying trash. I can't believe I actually listened to your crap,” With that said, he hissed and without waiting for Sheila to say a word, he already left, walking in.
Sheila hissed then flipped her brunette hair backwards before slipping down from the car, trailing behind him as he led the way.
He probably made a reservation because there's just little guests around.
They were led into a reserved area—where they'll be having brunch.
There's fine dining, personalized service and customized menu. But the surprising part of it all was the conjoining door in their reserved area. Sheila's hands grazed her gown as she stared around, her heart racing already.
“We got the room ready just like you requested,” The lady that led them in said and Sheila's throat moved, forcing a heavy lump in.
She held the hem of her gown tight as the lady opened the door, then that's it—a bed, sitting rigidly on the floor of the room.
The setting was intimate, luxurious and heavenly and Sheila's jaw dropped open in shock as she stared around.
She staggered back, the thumping of her racing heart wrecking her walls.
What in Pete's name was this?
She hissed inwardly, biting her lips hard to prevent herself from exploding. She didn't want to snap at Arthur when the lady was still with them, so she bit harder at her lips to stop the words from flowing.
“I'll take my leave now, but your morning meal will arrive soon. While at that, make yourself comfortable and don't forget to call us if you need our help with anything. We're at your services, sir, ma'am.” She said with a smile, then bowed to them before leaving.
Sheila hissed when the lady left, she turned to her side where Arthur was, but to her surprise, he wasn't even standing beside her anymore, he was already walking in.
Sheila gasped out, then made to go with him to the room when she felt the door bang close, almost smashing her face in the process.
Her lips parted as she staggered back, then huffed with clear anger and irritation.
The door opened up almost immediately, revealing Arthur's face.
“No special occasions,” he snarled. “I didn't bring you here to share a room with me,” he scowled, face scrunched up in anger.
Sheila opened her mouth to speak, but she couldn't even say anything, she was too dazed to say a word.
What could she probably say? One minute that dude is nice and the next, he's a devil.
An antichrist.
Then Arthur's lips curved into a knowing smirk, “When the meals come, do well to eat to your brim,” his voice dropped to a whisper, his eyes flickering with something forbidden, something dark.
“Because you'll need the strength to scream my name,” With that said, the door banged again, closing Sheila outside.
