Chapter 12

In truth, my first reaction was, even if they're bad, they can't be worse than him, right?

Jason and his brothers opened a car repair shop on Liberty Road, which had picturesque scenery.

Everyone was surprised to see me.

"Rachel, why are you here? Did you come to see me?" Uncle Bear spoke.

I had been here for two months, and he was always there whenever we played Texas Hold'em at home.

"Mind your own business, Boss brought Doll out for some fresh air. What's it to you?"

"Yeah, be careful or Boss might get rid of you."

Jason glared at them, "Don't want your wages anymore? Or do you all just want to gossip?"

The group fell silent.

"Get back to work." Uncle Bear reminded everyone, "Rachel, come sit here."

"He's talking about you!" Jason looked at him with annoyance.

Uncle Bear was scared and scurried away.

"Why are you looking at me?" Jason turned his head to look at me as I stared at him.

"Has anyone ever told you that you're fierce?" I stood still and felt that he was way too fierce, even his own brothers were afraid of him.

"I give them work instructions, how am I fierce? Who do you think isn't fierce?" He lowered his head and looked at me playfully.

"Uncle Bear doesn't look fierce." I dared not say more, I was also afraid of him.

"Then follow him." He kicked a stool and left directly.
