Chapter 51 I Envy Your Confidence to Act So Recklessly
Raymond lunged forward. "You're asking for it!"
Tyler raised his hand and landed a precise blow to the cast on his arm.
Crack!
The sound of breaking bone echoed through the air.
"Ah!" Raymond collapsed.
Tyler kicked him. "Go lie down in the hospital."
Crack!
A bone in Raymond's leg snapped.
His bodyguard rushed over.
Dylan also joined the attack.
Tyler charged head-on.
Amid the chaos, the airport lobby echoed with thuds and cries of pain.
Ellie stood to the side, watching the scene quietly.
Patrick casually handed her the coat. "No one's stopping you today, Miss Ward."
"Aren't you going to help him?" she asked.
Patrick smiled. "Oh, I'm not really the fighting type."
Ellie turned her gaze back to the fray.
Dylan and the bodyguard were pinned to the ground.
A crowd of onlookers was gradually gathering around them.
"My God, they're really going at it!"
"Go pull them apart—don't let this end in a fatality."
"That guy looks so menacing. Who's going to dare step in?"
"It's already caused a commotion," Ellie said softly.
Patrick still wore that easy smile. "It's fine."
Several men in suits walked over.
"It's fine, it's fine—we're filming a movie!"
"Everyone, help out as extras! Come on!"
Before the airport staff could arrive, Tyler had stopped.
Raymond, Dylan, and the bodyguard were escorted away by his men.
Tyler walked over to her.
Apart from a slightly wrinkled shirt, he looked completely unharmed.
"Tyler, your clothes—" Patrick approached. "I'll take care of them."
He handed him his jacket and turned to face the approaching airport staff.
Tyler took the jacket and stopped in front of Ellie.
After a long moment, Ellie took a step forward.
She stepped forward, pressed her forehead to his chest, and embraced him.
He stood, unmoving, letting her hold him.
She whispered, "Thank you."
A glimmer flickered in Tyler's eyes.
"Careful, Ellie. I’m not the patient type."
He felt her low laugh against his chest.
Tyler frowned. "What are you laughing at?"
Ellie pulled back. "Nothing. I wish I had your guts."
"You’re no saint either. Takes guts to play with fire," he shot back.
"We're just built differently," she said softly.
Tyler stared deeply at her.
Why did she say that?
"Well then, goodbye." She turned away.
He just stood there, watching her walk toward the security checkpoint.
Then he turned and walked away.
——
In the crowd, Ellie arrived at the boarding gate and sat down, waiting for takeoff.
She had won.
The corners of her mouth turn up.
I'll be back and take care of everyone.
——
The airport entrance.
Tyler leaned against the hood of a dark green sports car and gazed up at the vast night sky.
He lit a cigarette.
The smoke drifted slowly from his lips, blurring his vision.
Several cars pulled up and stopped at the curb.
Dennis and Jack strode forward, followed by a dozen bodyguards.
The group quickly surrounded Tyler.
Dennis's facial wounds had been treated.
He glared at Tyler.
Jack demanded, "You ruined my sister's engagement party. Have you considered the consequences?"
Tyler's voice was calm and unruffled. "What consequences?"
"We'll band together to deal with you, the troublemaker. The Alliance of Noble Families will not tolerate this!"
Tyler flicked the ash from his cigarette; his face was expressionless. "I look forward to it."
Dennis growled, "I'll kill you!"
A wisp of smoke escaped the corner of Tyler's mouth as he smiled. "Go ahead."
Dennis's face twisted in rage as he shouted, "Attack him!"
A dozen burly men swarmed forward.
Tyler calmly stubbed out his cigarette, stood up to meet them, and casually flung off the jacket draped over his arm.
Half an hour later——
Not far away, a group of people lay scattered haphazardly on the ground.
Dennis and Jack were lying face down on the ground, blood trickling from the corners of their mouths.
Tyler sat back down on the hood of the dark green sports car and looked down at his phone.
Patrick walked over.
"Tyler, it's all taken care of."
Tyler nodded.
"Has Miss Ward left already?"
"Mm-hmm."
"Is she going on a trip to clear her head?"
"Who cares!" he snapped.
After hesitating for a moment, Patrick asked, "But Mr. Torres, you beat up her family."
Tyler frowned. "Make that good-for-nothing pay for it."
Patrick didn't catch on, "Huh?"
Tyler's expression turned cold and stern. "Dylan is fully responsible for the damage caused by forcing me off the highway. Make him pay!"
Patrick nodded immediately. "Got it!"
