39- Gratefull in the secret cuartel
Sherek was finally in his last phase of training, his constant flail practices had ended and he was already quite skilled. He now had only one day left in this magical room, in which he would train with a bow and crossbow. He quickly heads to the archery area and picks up a quiver with just ten arrows. He fires the first one and it hits 15 centimeters from the center where he was aiming. He felt a small rush in his body out of nowhere. Somewhat scared he begins to fear this training. He looked around at the other boys shooting arrows and noticed that when the shots missed they twitched a little. Still, he took some motivation, took an arrow and this time hit it a little closer to the target. The electric shock was milder. He takes out another one and hits the target, he doesn't feel an electric shock and when he goes to take another arrow he realizes that there are more, he checks the quiver, and 10 more arrows have been added by magic. He now understands what this training will be like and the only thing he doesn't want is to find out what happens if he runs out of arrows. About three hours pass and Sherek has managed to keep his quiver full, but after so many electric shocks and arrow shots, his arms were beginning to get tired. This training, unlike the previous one, did not regenerate his body. He decides to rest for a few minutes. But a close companion with some concern on his face signals him not to stop. Sherek follows his advice, gets up, and continues. Now he can't hit anything, there are many electric shocks in a row and now he only had eight arrows left. He begins to sweat nervously, manages to hit the third arrow he had left, and breathes a sigh of relief. But when he touches his quiver again he sees that the arrows were not reloaded this time. He takes out his penultimate arrow, hits it again, and nothing, picks up the last one and notices that it has a red tip.
Sherek thinks
—I have to get this one right, I don't want to continue receiving electric shocks and I need to get out of here quickly.
Sherek feels a certain energy when preparing this arrow on his bow, he notices that now the target is much smaller. Without blinking he aims and releases the arrow that falls five centimeters from the target. He stands with some fear waiting for the electric shock and nothing happens. He checks the quiver and now there is an arrow with a blue mark, Sherek concentrates, he aims and it doesn't come close, he picks up the next arrow, this one has a purple mark, but it also narrowly misses, he takes out another one and now it has a brown mark when Releasing this arrow comes out with such force that it completely breaks the area where it was aimed, hitting exactly the entire target. Sherek is impressed, but only he noticed this. In a matter of seconds, the magician opens the door, approaches Sherek, and asks him to follow him, they leave the room and comment to him.
—Well Sherek, we have discovered your color. —Laren says as he directs Sherek to follow him into the long dirt passage inside this compound.
-The brown?
—Exactly, I have not seen flowers of that color for many decades, I sincerely think that they became extinct or some kingdom or tribe exterminated them.
—Why would they exterminate them?
—As you know, each flower generates certain concepts in its bearers. If these affect the beliefs or rules of any government, they will most likely seek to destroy them.
—Do you know what the brown flower gave?
-Honestly no. I heard rumors that they made people weak. In the same way, if you want to discover it, search the depths of your soul and you will know since it is what represents you. Now enter that room and we will finish your training, there is still some time until you reach the Torbelean Mountains. —Laren says as he opens a door in the long hallway—.
—Okay, before entering, can I ask you a question, Mr. Laren?
-Forward.
—This arrow test, do you do it to everyone who enters here?
—To whom I must do it.
With those words, Laren says goodbye to Sherek
Sherek enters the room and in it is, there is only him, a crossbow, about sixty bolts, and ten targets. He takes the crossbow and shoots one of the humanoid-shaped targets, hitting a rib. Sherek is waiting for something, but everything continues as if nothing had happened, he reloads the crossbow and manages to hit the head of a target, and again nothing happens. It seems that this training has nothing magical, Sherek, after firing about fifteen bolts, feels somewhat disappointed and bored in this training, since unlike the others there was no challenge so to speak, therefore he decides to get creative, reloads his crossbow and begins to run sideways and try to hit some target, while he is running at the moment of shooting, the room transforms into a battlefield where these targets were humans and when he shoots, they dodge the shot and suddenly, from behind He feels a blow through his skull, Sherek screams in pain and when he falls he is back in the training room without injuries. He sees the bolt that I shot at him ground as if it were missed hitting the back wall. Sherek feels some fear again but with motivation, he reloads his crossbow and runs again but this time he falls to his knees, crawling while he shoots; This time the room becomes a coliseum where a ferocious lion comes towards him, hits him in the eye and knocks him down instantly, but this time the room does not return to normal, another lion approaches from the side, a scared Sherek tries to He reloads the crossbow but he doesn't have time and the lion reaches him, biting his arm almost to the point of tearing it off and at that moment, amid screams of suffering, he appears again in the room, the pain in his arm begins to fade. Sherek is very shocked by this illusion but I can now understand it. Now while reloading he begins to run and this time jumps, the room becomes a guard tower that has just been destroyed by a catapult, Sherek with his jump escapes the impact that the tower receives and right in front of him, there is a man prepared to stab him in the chest with a spear when he fell from the tower. Sherek accurately fires his crossbow and hits this man in the arm, preventing him from hitting him with the spear, but when he falls he realizes that he has a whole army around him, so he runs, while trying to quickly reload his crossbow, dodging some arrows and stands behind a cart to fire a bolt that pierces the heads of two guards who were coming towards him. After that shot, he goes back to the training room and thinks.
