Chapter 9

Aurora groaned with pain as her head smashed into a tree.

"Arrrrhhhhh," Aurora screamed.

Standing in front of her was a tall, huge creature-a Rarewolf. He had a victorious smile on his face, displaying his teeth. She couldn't help but feel her stomach rumble with disgust.

"Who is running off in the middle of a fight?" The Rarewolf said, watching as she struggled to move back away from him. He had done a great job injuring her.

Aurora felt too weak to stand up. Her leg had broken because of the hit she had received from him.

"Stay away from me, back off," Aurora said. Her voice was low, and she could feel her body in so much pain.

"And why should I obey you? Alpha Adam has killed my brothers and sisters, and killing you will save me from the pain and agony. Also, killing you will kill him."

His words shook Aurora to the brim. She felt her body shake with fear and tremor. So he was Alpha Adam. Alpha Adam was the man who had sent shivers down her body without even trying. His eyes were cold, icy, and emotionless when he stared at her. She wished never to receive a stare from him again, because she was going to get drawn in and wish for an escape, to never lay eyes on such a person like him.

"Alpha Adam will find you and kill you, just like he killed the others," Aurora said. She never knew how she mustered the energy to talk, but it seemed like she said the wrong thing at the wrong time. Her words had widened his injury because he gave her a heavy blow, which sent her body crashing again to the ground.

Aurora groaned with pain. She was beginning to lose it, struggling to breathe, and felt like she was losing herself.

The Rarewolf bent down to her level and slowly whispered into her ears, "No, he won't, because no one knows where you are. Your scent is fading off, the forest is too thick for anyone to find you. Even if they do, Alpha Adam will give up on you. He never wants a woman in his life."

Every word he said sent a shiver down her spine and caused her heart to break into pieces.

"So what... is... stopping... you from... killing me?" Aurora whispered in a low tone, her voice breaking as she spoke. Slowly making a silent prayer in her heart to be saved, she would never wish to escape ever again, she would take her fate if, perchance, she got saved.

"No, I won't kill you. Instead, I will make you like one of us. You look almost dead; I will make you powerful and presentable to our creator. He will treat you better than the Alpha King, your supposed husband," he said. Aurora's eyes widened with fear at his words. He was going to turn her into one of them. She shook him off with a force she had never seen before, but he was strong enough to quickly take hold of her. He brought out a string with something in it and quickly muffled her mouth, stabbing the string into her neck as she struggled. Slowly, she felt herself fading away. Before she could close her eyes to the darkness, she heard a loud scream erupting before her. The scream wasn't from her, and slowly, she felt her body wearing out.

"How dare you inject her with that poison, that virus?" Alpha Adam said, his eyes dark and deadly, screaming of death, and the aura he exuded scared the hell out of the Rarewolf. He did not know how the Alpha had caught up with him.

"You messed with my wife, and you shall pay for it," Alpha Adam said. Quickly, he bit the Rarewolf, granting him a terrible death. It was better to have your head detached than to be bitten by the Alpha King. The Alpha's bite was considered torturous, death without cure. First, you would pass through different stages of torture before your body dried up like a skeleton in five minutes. Those five minutes were considered the longest minutes of pain and agony.

Alpha Adam watched the Rarewolf drop to the ground with his eyes wide open, now purely white.

Quickly, Alpha Adam walked toward Aurora. He felt his heart stop seizing for a while. He didn't know why he was reacting this way towards her. He was never meant to show emotions, but he was feeling brokenness within him even without properly meeting her. Here he was, killing people without even meeting her.

"How is she?" Alpha Adam asked Oliver, who was checking her pulse.

"She's still alive, and the syringe is empty. He injected a lot of virus into her, and she's not responding to anything right now," Oliver said, showing Adam the syringe. Adam's breath hitched at this information. He couldn't lose her, even when they hadn't met properly. This is how dangerous his life is; no one is safe around him.

"What should we do?" Alpha Adam said, slowly kneeling down to also confirm her pulse.

"We need to take her to the pack doctor as soon as possible. You need to use your teleporting powers this time, Alpha. We do not know the effects of this virus on a werewolf yet," Oliver said. Quickly, Alpha Adam nodded his head, carrying Aurora in a bridal style. She was close to him, and he was shirtless, feeling the heat of her body on his, causing an emotion within him. Quickly, he breached it. He was never meant to have any emotions for her, not a weakling like her.

"Inform the pack doctor to be on his way to my room as soon as possible."

In the twinkle of an eye, he was in his room. Quickly, the door to his room opened; the pack doctor stepped into the room. Without thinking twice, he rushed towards the lady lying on the bed. Oliver must have communicated the whole situation to him because quickly, he analyzed her without asking any questions and using some instruments on her. He turned to stare at the Alpha King, quickly bowing down.

Alpha Adam stared at him, hoping whatever news the pack doctor had wasn't bad. But his expression on his face stated otherwise.

"Alpha Adam…"
