Chapter 130 Wants
Thorne’s Point of View
I had been unable to ignore the irritation that builds up in my chest the moment I see Eden with Theron; I can’t seem to fathom how she could be happy with a man like my brother. He was rough, violent, and undeserving.
She is meant to regret ever yelling at me and breaking up with me, simply because I had an affair once; I wanted her to be miserable when I met her again, on her knees, groveling and begging me to take her back.
Of course, I would take her back.
After I show her that there is no one like me, I wanted to make her admit that she was stupid and senseless for ever leaving a man like me, but now she was not regretful.
In fact, it’s like she took some of my brother’s arrogance; she was prideful and vengeful, unwilling to take me back even though I was the one begging now.
She dares to look in my eyes and call Theron a real man, I scoffed loudly. What about Theron does she think is better than me? Someone who was even mentally unwell, how dare she compare someone like that to me?
Anger flooded my veins, and I felt my fists tighten.
Why do I feel this way now? When we dated, I didn’t care much about anything. Yeah, I thought she was pretty, but she wasn’t the only pretty girl I knew.
I had access to other girls, and I still do, girls prettier, classier, and even more elegant than her, so why was I fixated on her? Why was it impossible to get her out of my head? Why do I want to take her away from Theron?
“Honey, why are you not eating?” Mother whispered curiously as she nudged me, and I rolled my eyes.
“I received reports about your training in the hospital, Thorne.” Father started as he fixed his lips on the glass of water in his hands. “And I must say I am quite impressed; you have been doing surprisingly well.”
Mother’s lips lifted in a confident smirk. I wonder why she was so happy to hear that; it wasn’t a compliment.
“I told you, all he needs is a little push.” She smiled at me, feeling so proud. Yes, I know how much my mother gushed over me; she was overly affectionate towards me right from a young age. While she scorned Theron for having an A+ in school, she celebrated me for barely getting a D.
“If you keep going like this, I would believe you are serious.” Father continued, even though he claimed to be proud, his eyes remained the same. The man makes me quite uneasy; he is very similar to Theron.
Quite cold and almost unfeeling, especially towards me, he was the complete opposite of his mother.
“I am always serious.” I forced out, as I lifted the fork into my mouth.
“Good, just try to be more like Theron.”
Something snapped in me at the mention of that cursed name, and I glared at my father while dropping my fork on the plate.
“Why do I have to be like that psycho?” I asked spitefully, and Father slammed his hands on the table.
“How many times have I told you not to address your brother like that?” He demanded.
“I don’t care,” I muttered. “I want to be nothing like that psychopath. I know you care so much about him, but that doesn’t take away who he truly is.”
“Thorne.” His voice came warningly.
“He is a sleazy, sneaky, and dubious bastard, even worse than the rats crawling in the sewers.” I gritted in between clenched teeth. “And for the safety of everyone, he should be locked up and away forever.”
“That’s enough!” Father boomed. “One more word from you, Thorne, and I swear you will regret it.” “I won’t let you shut me up, father, even after you have wronged me. What kind of father would let my brother marry my ex-girlfriend?” I snapped, and Father drew in a sharp breath. “Tell me.”
“Thorne, you can’t possibly still have some feelings for the girl.” Mother said with a dramatic gasp, and I rolled my eyes.
“Yes, I do.” I continued almost immediately. “I love Eden. I have always loved her, and not once did I ever think of stopping.”
“You broke up a long time ago.” Father thought to remind me. “And I heard you cheated on her, even, you have always been unserious with everything, even with the woman you claim to love.”
“That isn’t my fault, everything is Theron’s doing! He planned everything and took away the woman I love from me.” My voice was raised as I explained. “We broke up not because I stopped loving her, but because that psychopathic son of yours lied and deceived her.”
“What are you talking about?” Father asked, I bet father doesn’t know what truly happened, so I will do him a favor and tell him.
“I don’t believe this.” He shook his head. “Theron would never do something like that.”
“If you think I am lying, you can ask him yourself.” I pushed my chair back. “How would you feel if one of your ex-girlfriends, whom you have unresolved feelings for, somehow becomes your sister-in-law?”
“Thorne.” My mother called me as I got up from the table, but I didn’t stop. I stomped inside. Everything was annoying at this point.
I just wanted all of them gone.
Theron. Mother. Father—every one of them.
“Baby.” Mother stumbled into my room, she rushed towards me, holding my face. “Thorne, calm down and talk to me.”
“Mommy, leave,” I told her softly.
“I can’t leave you feeling so angry and sad.” She cooed. “That girl is no good; it’s probably a good thing she is with Theron now. They suit each other more; a girl like that is never good enough for my baby.”
“No, mother.” I removed her hands from my face. “She is perfect for me. I can’t love another woman the way I love her, and it kills me to know that she now belongs to Theron.”
“It’s okay.” She hushed me. “Ever since you were a child, I have always given you what you wanted, haven’t I?”
I paused for a while before I nodded.
“Are you sure you want the girl?” She questions. “Something your brother already touched is definitely dirty.”
“I don’t care,” I muttered. "I just want her, or none of us has her."
