Chapter 125 Take Me

Chapter 125 Take Me
Eden’s Point of View

A small sigh escaped my parted lips as I walked towards the locker room. I just got out of surgery, which lasted two hours, probably one of the fastest surgeries I have ever done. Today is one of those days where work wasn’t as intense as it used to be, and I also noticed that I have been having fewer surgeries recently, and more attendings are placed during the day.

Which makes me wonder if this was Theron’s doing.

I needed to get some aspirin in my locker because I have a small headache, and then my schedule is free until the shift ends.

“Oh!” A small gasp of confusion escaped my lips when my eyes combated the blood red petals. I froze for a while as I tried to make sense of the situation. I closed my eyes and opened them again, and the bouquet of roses was still there.

“My goodness.” I’m not hallucinating; my eyes darted up to be sure that I was at the right locker.

They weren’t here this morning when I clocked in, and I don’t think anyone has the spare key to my locker. Who would leave such beautiful flowers in here? Did they probably have the wrong locker?

I let out a small laugh as I leaned into the fresh and beautiful flowers. They smell so good, my eyes darted around the room, checking out to see if I was truly alone.

I noticed the note attached to it, and my heart raced as I opened it.

“I plan to do this every day, but I don’t know what your favorite flower is.” A small smile reached my lips; I already knew who was bold enough to do something like this. “You should tell me sometimes. Love, Your honey.”

I stifled a laugh.

“He’s so silly.” I brought them to my nose again, inhaling deeply, and they smell so good. I need to find a vase. Just as I stepped back, I noticed the box that had circular golden wrappings arranged in it.

“Is this chocolate?” I asked curiously, and yes, it was indeed chocolate.

Seems like what I needed was the flowers and not aspirin, because the instant I saw them, the headache vanished, and I was soon pumped with energy.

“Eden, we have been looking—” My head turned in the direction of the door, only to see Lola and Felicia coming in, and they also seemed surprised to be standing at the edge of the locker holding a huge bouquet of red roses.

Lola basically squealed as she rushed towards me.

“Such lovely flowers.” She touched the wrapping eagerly. “They are so beautiful. Are they a gift from Theron?”

I blushed before nodding my head.

“Aww. He is so sweet.” Felicia said as she leaned in. “They smell so lovely too.”

“I know, right?” Lola’s eyes then flickered back to me. “Your cheeks are almost the color of the roses.”

My hands covered my cheeks, trying to hide my blush from them, but it was already too late. I was so happy that I could barely function. This was the first time I was receiving flowers from someone; neither Thorne nor Uriel ever thought to buy me flowers.

“You came looking for me.” I reminded Lola, and she nodded hurriedly.

“Yes,” her eyes darted towards Felicia. “Um, the team decided to go out on a team dinner later tonight, to celebrate you, of course.” She answered. “We have been thinking about it for a while. We were supposed to do this on your 100th day of working with us, but some things came up.”

“Oh.” I brought the bouquet tighter to my chest. I could barely concentrate on whatever Lola was saying; all I wanted to do was look for a vase to preserve my flowers. “What time are we going?”

“After our shift, we want to treat you to something nice,” Felicia answered and then collected the flowers from me. “I’ll get a vase for you.”

“Thank you.” I smiled. “Yes, sure, I will be glad to attend the dinner.”

I answered, all that’s left is for me to tell Theron—so, he doesn’t wait up for me once we change shift.

I knocked slightly on the door, and then I heard his deep voice from the other side of the door; I opened the door to see him sitting, his fingers drumming on the table.

His eyes were serious, but they softened the moment they rested on mine. He was on the phone with someone.

“Yes, thank you. If that will be all, I’ll send back the current statistics.” He paused for a while, motioning for me to come further inside. “Thank you. Bye.”

He set his phone on the table; his piercing eyes nestled on mine.

“Hi,” I muttered, biting down on my lips.

“Honey.” He replied promptly.

“What?” I asked in confusion, my eyebrows raised.

“Hi, Honey?” He rephrased, and that was when I understood what he meant; he wanted me to call him honey every time I see him, just the same way I call Snowball.

“Hi, Honey,” I repeated, and his smile spread; he pushed his chair back, tapping on his lap. “Come and take a seat.”

I knew Theron too well; he always gets what he wants, and he won’t take no for an answer. Swallowing my pride, after all, it’s just the two of us here, I walked towards him and sat on his lap.

“What do you want, my love?” His breath was hot against the back of my neck as he pressed a kiss there. I felt myself jump slightly, but it didn’t feel strange anymore.

“Thank you,” I blurted out quickly. “I wanted to thank you for the flowers.”

“You shouldn’t thank me for the bare minimum.” He pressed another kiss on the edge of my shoulders and then held my face carefully. “However, it’s a kiss that I won’t refuse.”

I leaned in and kissed him lightly on the lips.

“Is that all you came here for?” He asked.

“Um, actually no,” I answered almost immediately. “I wanted to tell you that I will be going to a team dinner with the rest of my colleagues, so you can go home without me.”

The smile hanging on his face disappeared quickly. He grabbed my waist, pulling me even closer to himself. He buried his face in the crook of my neck, inhaling deeply.

“What would I do at home without you?” He asked curiously. “Take me with you, please.”
