ERICA'S POV:-
Carlos was patting my back as I cried my heart out. I heard him growling as he heard me complaining. He helped me up on my feet. Then he walked back towards the pack house. For a moment, I was scared that he was going to take me back to the pack house to confront Alpha Kaden. I couldn't help but think that way. After all, after I complained to Carlos, he was fuming in anger. As if he was going to murder Alpha Kaden. But I sighed in relief as I saw Carlos' bike parked in front of Alpha Kaden's mansion. He helped me up on the bike then hopped onto his bike. My heart skipped a beat or two when I saw Alpha Kaden walking towards us.
He looked angry as he saw my arms wrapped around Carlos' waist. I couldn't understand that man. One moment, he didn't even look at me. The other moment he was angry at me because I was sitting on Carlos' bike. Fuming in anger, he walked towards us. "Where are you taking her? She is part of this pack now. She belongs here. You can't take her away forcefully. I can not allow anyone to force my wolf to do anything they don't want to do. Let her go." Alpha Kaden yelled at Carlos angrily. Hearing his accusations, Carlos growled in anger. He tapped on my hands and I let go. He hopped off of the bike and walked closer to Alpha Kaden.
I gulped hard as both Carlos and Alpha Kaden looked furious. They were fuming in anger. I didn't want any of them to fight because of me. "Oh yeah! Your pack, your wolves. How about you answer me, why one of your pack members was sitting by the river bank and crying her heart out? But no one cared. No one even went looking for her. Did you even notice that she was not in the mansion or around?" Carlos asked Alpha Kaden angrily while glaring into his eyes. Alpha Kaden looked at me. I saw guilt in his eyes. But then I saw a hint of fear in his eyes. He narrowed his head as he didn't have any words to justify himself in front of Carlos.
"Just as I thought. I am taking her back home." Carlos chuckled at Alpha Kaden tauntingly then walked back towards the bike. He informed Alpha Kaden that he was taking me back as he hopped onto the bike again. I wrapped my arms around his waist again. I was staring at Alpha Kaden. For a moment, our eyes met.
"Wait! She asked me to bring her here. She said she belongs here. She said she belongs with the people of this pack. I can't let her leave. She belongs to my pack." Alpha Kaden argued with Carlos while staring into my eyes with his pleading eyes. As if he was pleading to me not to leave. I just didn't understand what he wanted from me.
When Carlos didn't hear anything from me, he started his bike and rode away. I could feel Alpha Kaden's eyes on me. But I didn't dare to look back at him. The whole ride back home, I didn't say a single word. Carlos was quiet too. He stopped the bike in front of the house. He helped me off of his bike. Then he grabbed my hand and pulled me into the house. As soon as I saw Samia, tears welled up in my eyes. She opened her arms for me and I ran towards her. I hugged her tightly and cried my heart out. She wrapped her arms around me and pulled me back towards the guest bedroom that I was using.
Samia helped me sit on the edge of the bed. Then she sat down beside me. One of her arms was wrapped around me. As if she was protecting me. With the other hand, she grabbed my hand and squeezed them lightly. "Talk to me. What happened? I felt something was wrong with you. I sent Carlos to check on you. Tell me he didn't fight anyone for you. Tell me Alpha Kaden didn't do anything wrong." Samia asked me in a low tone while holding me close to her chest. She looked worried about me. I was glad that she sent Carlos for me. Or I would be sitting by the river bank all night and Alpha Kaden wouldn't have looked for me.
"Carlos didn't fight. And Alpha Kaden didn't do anything. The moment he parked the car in front of his mansion, he walked away without even looking at me. And everyone in the pack was looking at me with their accusing eyes. I don't have that much strength right now to face people like this. They all still accuse me for everything that happened to Alpha Kaden's sister." I replied to her in a low tone while I was crying my heart out in front of her. She didn't say anything after hearing me. She was just rubbing her hand on my back to help me calm down. I just didn't know why I was accused of something I didn't do at all.
It was my father who kept her locked up. And I did everything I could to save her. I was just a mere human. Against all the mean and evil vampires. I couldn't do much. But I did everything I could to save her. "You didn't tell Alpha Kaden anything about his sister? I told you to tell him everything. Why are you hiding this from him, Erica? He deserves to know what happened to his sister." After a little while, when I was not crying so hard, she spoke to me in a gentle tone. She was still rubbing her hand on my back gently. She was trying to help me calm down. But she didn't sound so happy when she asked me why I didn't tell him anything.
It just couldn't tell him anything. I felt like I was tempering with her dead body after her death. Alicia was dead. She died a long time ago. And there was no way she could come back. I didn't want to give her brother another new shock about Alicia's death. "I tried to tell him. At first, he didn't listen. Then I couldn't tell him. I just don't want him to know everything that happened. I did everything to save her. I couldn't save her. So I thought that the truth was no longer important. The truth would never bring her back." I pulled away from her and replied to her in a low tone. I just didn't want to hurt anyone anymore.
Hearing my words, she sighed and narrowed her head. She shook her hand in a disappointed way. I narrowed my head in guilt. I thought I was doing the right thing by not telling him everything. But Samia was not so happy to hear that. "Erica! Remember the time when you were running around and crying. Hoping you would find out at least something about Alen. You loved him. And without knowing the whole truth, you were devastated. I know because I was devastated too. You wanted to know who would kill Alen like this." She started in a low tone while looking into my eyes. I didn't understand why she would bring Alen in this situation. It was not the same story at all.
I loved Alen. But Alicia was Alpha Kaden's sister. I was confused why Samia would mention Alen between Alpha Kaden and his sister. "I know it just doesn't make any sense to you. But hear me out. It was just a few days you spent looking for the clues against Alen's murder. You were going crazy to know the truth. You were going crazy because your questions were not answered. Now think about it this way. Alpha Kaden doesn't know at all what happened to his sister. What she went through. Only you, Alicia and the vampires knew what happened to her. Now that Alicia and all the vampires are dead, he doesn't know where to seek the truth." Samia started explaining and it started to make sense.
He still thought that his sister was murdered. And my people did that. I was part of that territory. "Alpha Kaden deserves to know the truth about his sister. You are not betraying his sister. You are telling Alpha Kaden the truth. He is still grieving. And it doesn't end until we know what happened. He feels like he is betraying his dead sister. You have to show him the marks. And tell him everything that happened from the day she was abducted till the day Alpha Kaden found her dead body." She added in a low tone and I sighed. She was right.
I never thought about how devastated he really was all this long. I thought it was not necessary for him to know the truth. "I will invite him to your birthday party. And I will ask Blake to get you a safe place where you can tell him everything. Just tell him the truth. It will help him heal. He has been looking for answers for two years, Erica." She added further and I nodded my head. She then patted my head and walked away. I knew I had to be ready.
