Chapter 119 Viktor

Chapter 119 Viktor
Elara's POV

The guards did not stop shouting as the dragon raced through the tunnel, their voices growing fainter with every second. Fire arrows flew toward them from behind, striking the walls and bursting into flames, but the dragon twisted and turned with incredible speed, dodging every attack without slowing down.

"Notify Caven immediately!" one of the guards yelled. "Tell him they found the tunnel!"

Before the messenger could move, hurried footsteps echoed through the passage. Caven came running toward them, his cloak trailing behind him as he stared at the dragon disappearing into the darkness.

"How did they know about this tunnel?" he shouted, his face twisted with anger. "Stop them! Dead or alive, I don't care. Just don't let them escape!"

The guards immediately rushed after them, their weapons raised as they chased through the tunnel. The dragon glanced back, then suddenly swung its head toward the wall. Its massive body moved with such force that a large section of loose rock broke away and came crashing down behind them.

The rocks blocked the passage completely.

The guards stopped abruptly, staring at the newly formed barrier as dust filled the air around them. Caven arrived seconds later and froze when he saw what had happened, his hands tightening into fists as he realized Elara and Joyce were already out of reach.

Meanwhile, the dragon continued forward until the sounds of the guards disappeared completely. Elara finally relaxed her grip on its scales and looked back at Joyce, who was already smiling at her.

Elara laughed softly, still trying to catch her breath. "That was fierce."

Joyce shook her head with a grin. "I don't even know what just happened."

Elara turned forward again, her expression becoming serious. "Now we go to the vampire kingdom."

Joyce raised an eyebrow. "And what exactly are we going to do when we get there?"

"Find Viktor," Elara replied without hesitation. "If anyone can help us understand what is happening and get us out of Caven's kingdom, it's him."

Joyce nodded, though she still looked uncertain. "Then let's hope he wants to help us."

The dragon flew for what felt like a long time before the landscape below them began to change. The dark mountains surrounding the kingdom came into view, followed by the enormous walls that marked the entrance to the vampire territory.

Elara's heart began to beat faster.

She had not seen Viktor in a long time, and she had no idea what kind of reception they would receive. Still, she knew they had no other choice.

The dragon eventually descended, landing outside the main entrance before lowering its body and crouching close to the ground. Elara climbed down first and helped Joyce follow, then turned toward the creature.

"Thank you," she said, placing a hand against its scales.

The dragon lowered its head toward her.

"Summon me whenever you need me, Elara. I will come."

Elara smiled. "I will."

The dragon spread its wings and took off, disappearing into the sky as Elara and Joyce watched for a moment. When it was gone, Elara reached for Joyce's hand, and together they walked toward the entrance of the vampire kingdom.

They had barely crossed the gates when a vampire guard approached them.

"What are you looking for?"

Elara looked directly at him. "I want to see Viktor Stone."

The guard's expression changed immediately.

"Viktor Stone?"

"Yes."

He looked between Elara and Joyce before glancing around the entrance. "You'll have to be searched."

Elara raised her hands slightly. "Go ahead."

The guard searched both of them carefully before stepping back. He gave them a final suspicious look, then moved aside.

"You can go."

Elara nodded and took Joyce's hand again as they entered the kingdom.

She began looking around immediately.

Viktor could be anywhere, and she had no idea where to begin. They walked through several corridors, passing vampires who occasionally turned to look at them, but none of them seemed to know where Viktor was.

"Maybe we should ask someone," Joyce whispered.

Elara nodded. "We will."

She turned around at the same moment someone stepped into her path.

They collided.

"I'm sorry," Elara said quickly, taking a step back.

The person looked at her.

Elara froze.

Her eyes widened as she stared at the familiar face.

"Ellie?"

Ellie's expression changed instantly.
"Elara?"

For several seconds, neither of them said anything.

It had been so long since Elara had seen him. Ellie had been Viktor's friend back when they were all in the human world, and he was also a vampire. Elara had never expected to run into her here.

"What are you doing here?" Ellie asked.

Elara barely heard the question. "I'm looking for Viktor."

Ellie's smile disappeared. "You need to come with me."

Elara frowned. "Where?"

"Just follow me."

Something about Ellie's expression made Elara's stomach tighten, but she followed without asking another question. Joyce stayed close beside her as Ellie led them through several corridors before stopping in front of a closed door.

Ellie pushed it open making way for Elara to step inside.

Then she stopped dead.

Her eyes widened, and her hand flew to her mouth as she stared at what was before her.

"Viktor…”
