Chapter 215 Book 5: Taking Baby Steps Forward
Chapter 215 Book 5: Taking Baby Steps Forward
Weston smiled at her answer. It was what he had always wanted to do. Take baby steps forward in their relationship. He quickly fixed his tie while Isabella watched him do it to perfection.
“I’ll teach you soon, and then you’ll be the one to do it for me.” Isabella smiled as he leaned forward for a kiss, but she dodged and it landed on her nose.
“Hope you miss me a lot,” she said with a chuckle.
“I will. Bye, my little girlfriend,” he whispered, planting a peck on her mouth.
“Bye Weston,” she said with a sigh.
“I’ll be back in the blink of an eye,” he promised, giving her a quick hug. Isabella followed him down the stairs when Hudson emerged from his room, all ready for work.
“Took you long enough to fix a tie?” he teased her.
“Yes, your pumpkin started begging me to make her my girlfriend. That took ten minutes. Then I started considering her pleas, which took another ten minutes. Then I accepted for the sake of her tears. That took..,” Isabella punched Weston, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
“Absolutely not, bro. Don’t listen to him. He was the one who asked me to be his girlfriend,” said Isabella. Hudson chuckled and shook his head.
“I’ve got the main point. You’re now his girlfriend,” he chuckled. The brothers walked towards their cars, sharing some jokes between them while Isabella stood at the door watching Weston go to work. He winked at her, blowing her a kiss before driving off with a smile on his face.
He hadn’t reached the gate yet, and she was already waiting for him to return early so that they could go out on a date. Were they going out on a date? After they were out of sight, she sighed and went back to sit down and start a sequel to Faded Dreams. While making breakfast for Weston in the morning, the thought had originated in her mind. Now, after he left for work, it sort of became a permanent fixture in her mind and she had to write it. So she started writing “Pursuing My Dream” from where she had left off. It would be a journey of their love, a happy one, a journey of bonding with the one she loved.
The whole day in between helping her family, she took out time to write her heartfelt thoughts. There was no rush, no targets. It was how she always had envisaged her life to be. By evening, she had showered and dried her hair, selecting a beautiful white sleeveless midi dress that accentuated her curves. She paired it with nude pumps and brushed her hair to cascade down her back. After clipping on a pair of diamond studs, applying a moisturizer and bright lipstick, she sprayed her signature perfume upon herself and admired her reflection. The Isabella who stared back at her was so different from the one she was used to seeing. There was a rosy glow to her cheeks while her eyes sparkled like the diamond studs she wore, and it was all because of Weston’s love!
She could hear Weston talking to his mom downstairs, and her heartbeats sped up with excitement. She couldn’t wait to be in his arms. Had he missed her the way she did? After a while, she heard him climbing up the stairs towards her room. She had already unlocked it, on hearing his voice, and waited for him to walk in.
Weston opened the door and peered inside, his eyes checking her out. She looked so poised, elegant, and grown-up, just like a diva, that he couldn’t stop himself from staring at her as he slowly entered her room.
“You look, um, beautiful,” he said breathlessly while Isabella stood transfixed on the spot, waiting for his approval. Then his gaze fell upon her lips. “Is it edible?” he asked, contemplating his next move. Isabella laughed and leaned in a little closer.
“It’s toxic,” she told him in a whisper to see his reaction.
“Take it off then. I’ll be back in two minutes,” he told her, staring at it with distaste. After he left, Isabella rolled her eyes. The attitude of a typical possessive boyfriend! She applied a lip balm and stared at her reflection. Not bad! However, it looked like Weston was worse than a girl. He took thirty long minutes to get ready! Tired of waiting, she strode towards his room.
“What are you doing, Weston? I’ll grow old waiting for you,” she grumbled and then froze, seeing him looking so gorgeous in a black shirt with sleeves rolled up and a rugged pair of jeans that hugged his thick, muscular legs. His hair was set, and he smelled so good. Weston grinned, seeing that toxic thing off her lips. In fact, without that thing on her lips, they looked more kissable. They invited him for a taste and he walked towards her in a daze, like a predator towards his prey. He had survived without a kiss for the last nine hours! He deserved one right now!
“Weston, if you’re done, can we leave already?” she started but realized his intention and her breath stuck in her throat. Weston closed the door and pushed her against it, his fingers fisting into her hair as he angled her face up to meet the force of his lips upon hers. He kissed her passionately, branding her as his.
“Mine. Tell me you’re mine,” he whispered against her mouth.
“I’m yours, but please, can we go?” she begged him. He chuckled and released her, holding out his arm for her to take. She held onto his arm and walked shyly down the stairs as her family looked up at them from the living room.
“Enjoy yourselves,” said Anna Sophia, waving at them. Thankfully, Hudson wasn’t there to pull her legs. Carson and Easton ran towards them.
“Uncle Wes, aunt Isa, we wanna go wit you, pease,” said Easton, eagerly.
“Not tonight, champ. I’ll get you a toy if you listen to me,” Weston whispered into his ear, and Easton’s eyes sparkled with excitement.
“Otay, I want supeman,” he told Weston excitedly.
“I want Huk,” said Carson.
“Hulk?” asked Weston and Carson nodded excitedly.
“Done,” agreed Weston. Finally, they could leave the house to go out on their first date together.
“Where are we going? Don’t say, ‘you’ll see’,” said Isabella and Weston chuckled, checking himself.
“We’re going to the Strip. There’s a restaurant with an amazing view. I want you to experience it with me,” said Weston, not giving out many details, but Isabella got the idea. She had gone to the Strip with Emily many times, so she was eager to know what Weston wanted her to experience.
They reached the restaurant that he was talking about, Lago, which was a terrace restaurant serving Italian cuisine. It was very chic and the floor-to-ceiling windows provided amazing, up close, and personal views of the Bellagio Fountains. She could understand now what he meant by amazing when they sat on the patio, providing the best experience ever. They placed their orders and waited for the show to start. The show finally started, and they watched the Bellagio Fountains and lake, which looked amazing from their seat on the patio. It was an out-of-the-world experience for them. Isabella had experienced nothing like this before.
Their food arrived, and the show stopped. Isabella released the breath that she had been holding. “Did you like it, Isabella?” he asked eagerly, his hands picking hers up. Too overwhelmed to talk, Isabella knew how to thank him for being so thoughtful. She had to kiss him! Now! Looking around, she saw many couples kissing. It encouraged her, and she leaned in and captured his lips in a slow and gentle kiss, just to show him how much she loved what he was doing for her. They enjoyed their meal later and then walked hand in hand down the Strip aimlessly, just being with one another.
“Are your legs hurting, Weston?” asked Isabella with concern, seeing him limp more than normal. They’d walked quite a lot, and she was concerned about him.
Weston looked a little embarrassed. “A little. I had back-to-back presentations today at the office,” he told her, trying to sound like it wasn’t a big deal.
“We could go home if you want to,” suggested Isabella.
“No, I’m fine. I love it here with you. It’s such a unique feeling,” he told her.
“Let’s sit somewhere then,” she suggested. Weston agreed, and they walked into an ice cream parlor and sat down.
“Bro, was telling me that your legs would heal fast with physiotherapy? Why have you abandoned it, Weston?” she asked him after they had placed their order. Weston looked offended, not realizing that she was just concerned.
“Are you ashamed of being seen with me?” he asked, looking hurt. Isabella rolled her eyes and decided to get rid of his insecurities once and for all.
“Are you ashamed of being seen with me, Weston?” she asked in return. Weston shook his head.
“Why should I be?” he asked, looking impatiently at her for not answering his question and asking one of her own instead. “I asked you something, Isabella,” he reminded her.
“Why should I be? It had been my dream to be your girlfriend since I was twelve. I wanted to grow up fast so that you’d ask me to be your girl,” she admitted. Weston smiled, having received his answer. He felt relieved that she cleared all his doubts so effortlessly. Now there was nothing to stop him from dreaming of a happily ever after with his Isabella.
“I stopped physiotherapy since you weren’t there in my life. Now that you’re mine again, I’ll start soon. Happy?” he asked with a smile, watching her face brighten up.
“Yes, very happy,” she said, giving him a quick peck on his cheek. He treated her to exotic ice cream and then they drove home, looking forward eagerly to spending the night together.
