Chapter 101

Chapter 101
Ava’s POV

When Aunt informed me that Justin was being discharged from the hospital today, I just knew I had to be there. It wasn’t just because of the guilt I felt at being responsible for his accident; it was also because I could not bear to stay under the same roof with Dale. Everything about him irritated me at this point, and I didn’t want anything to do with him.

“With the way you are pampering me, you make me want to get beaten up all the time,” Justin teased as I pushed him in his wheelchair out of the hospital.

His dad, my aunt and I all burst into laughter at his words.

“Don’t ask for that, man. You might not get lucky next time,” his dad warned.

“Don’t underrate me, man. I can throw a decent punch. Plus as soon as I can, I am signing up for a fight class. I am about to become the next Mike Tyson,” he flexed his arms.

“Inform me as soon as you start your classes. I would love to watch you get roughened up,” I said to him.

“You would be surprised,” he bragged and we all let out another round of laughter.

We finally arrived at their home in a different but equally high end of the city. I was very much impressed by the largeness and beauty of their home. I have never asked what Mr. Rice did for work, but from what I could see right now, I knew he was not poor. Justin’s room was upstairs. As the only child of his father, he had a very large room to himself. I could tell he was spoiled, but he was nothing like the arrogant Dale.

“Okay. You are now well settled and I like that. That is good for you,” Mom beamed at the young man as he sat upright on his bed.
Mom had tucked him into the bed as though he was a child being forced to go to bed. He was red with embarrassment and I was doing my best to hold my laughter in.

“I and Clara will be in the sitting room in case you need any of us,” Mr. Rice said to both of us.

“Yes, sir.” Justin and I nodded and we watched as the elderly couple left the room.
As soon as the door was shut, Justin and I burst into laughter at once.

“I have never felt so embarrassed in my life,” he cackled as he tore the duvet off his body.
“She was simply trying to be nice,” I said and doubled over in more laughter.

“Is she always like this with you at home?” he asked and I paused laughing.

“I don’t really know about that. I have not lived with her for long and I haven’t been sick since I began living with her. But one thing I can assure you of is that she is a really caring person,” I explained.

“Wait! You haven’t been living with her for long? But why?” He raised his brows in confusion.

I paused for a second wondering if he didn’t know the truth because my aunt wanted it so or if she had just forgotten to mention it.

“I can see wheels turning in your eyes, Ava. Tell me what it is that I need to know right now,” he teased and inched closer to me on the bed.

“It is complicated,” I sighed.

“Tell me what is so com—” He immediately went into a coughing fit, scaring me.

“Are you okay, Justin?” I asked as I scampered to where he was.

“Get me some water, please,” he managed to say despite his cough, and I ran out of the room eager to get him some water.

Unfortunately for me, I didn’t know where the kitchen was, but I recalled Mr. Rice saying they would be in the sitting room. I quickly ran down the stairs, hoping to see them, but he and my aunt were nowhere in sight.

“Shit! Where the hell are they?” I asked the empty sitting room as my eyes glanced around.

Seeing that there was no one around, I decided to find the kitchen on my own. It had to be somewhere down here. That was the one place I was certain of getting safe drinking water for Justin.

Using the floor plan of my aunt’s home, I headed in the direction I believed the kitchen would be. I was right, and that was indeed the kitchen, but the sight that greeted me inside was not one I had ever imagined I would see.

Aunt Clara was bent over the kitchen counter with her gown raised above her waist, exposing her backside. Mr. Rice was behind her, digging into her with a dexterity I was impressed with. They both had their backs to me and I quickly stepped out of the doorway so that they would not see me.

With my back against the wall, I snuck a peek into the kitchen and sure enough, they were having sex. Aunt Clara’s moans were barely audible and I could tell she was trying hard to keep it in.

Well, whatever it was she was doing earlier was not working anymore because with each second that I spent there, her moans grew louder.

The naughty part of me wanted to sit there and watch them make love, but I remembered that Justin was choking in his bedroom and my sympathetic nervous system kicked back into action.

Sucking in a deep breath, I made the decision to go into the kitchen and crash their lovemaking session, but a glance to my right revealed a dispensing machine with disposable cups. A smile lined my face and I filled one of the cups with water and ran up the stairs.

As I ran, the only thought that raced through my head was the fact that Dale would not have hesitated to hurt Mr. Rice right now if he saw him making love to his mother even if she was clearly enjoying it.
