Chapter 11

Anabel's POV.

“Let me go, please.” I pleaded in tears as my eyes went to the Alpha's room, but he was not there today.

He would have saved me!

It hurts me that he is not there for me now that I need him. As the two hefty men dragged me out of the farm, my eyes glanced through a room in the mansion and I saw the one man who could have helped me, standing there and staring at me.

He moved away from the window as soon as I got a glimpse of him; this shreds my heart broken. There was no point to screaming, so, I let the men take me in peace.

Just when I thought all hope was lost, the Beta of the Pack approached us.

“Hey, buddies. You shouldn't treat a woman this way.” He said in his sweet but deep voice, but the two hefty men chuckled.

“You should stay out of our business, Jasper.” One of the hefty men by the name Fabio said.

They made to leave, but Jasper stopped Fabio.

“You looking for some trouble?” The other man by the name Kade.

“It's fine, kind Beta. I'll be fine.” I said in a low and hopeless voice with my gaze fixed on the floor.

He stood still while they dragged me, but the men stopped abruptly.

Kade tilted his head, “If you want to save her, you can come to our boss.”

They dragged me to their den; Alec's den. They pushed me to the floor in from of him, and a soft gasp escaped my lips.

My gaze fell on the floor, my lips, and hand shaking as I breathed shakily. I knew my chances to escape death or becoming Alec's slave were slim.

I knew him better to have come to borrow money from him, but there was nobody I could turn to. He was my best offer at that point.

Five months back, I had come to Alec to borrow a loan from him. His eyes scanned me frantically, followed by a menacing chuckle.

“You? You want me to lend you some money?” He chuckled again.

“Ye…. Yes. I..... I promise to…. pay you back.” I stuttered in a trembling voice.

“How do you intend to do that?” He asked, puffing out smokes from his cigarette.

“I want to invest the money on my farm. I'm sure to get a lot of harvest from it, and I'll pay you back once I sell the proceeds.”

“Sounds nice.” He stopped abruptly to take another glance at me. “So, when will you be expecting the harvest if I give you the money now? Moreover, when will you start paying back?”

“In less than three months, the farm would yield. I'll start paying you then.” Somehow, my voice was clouded with confidence.

That day, he handed me the money. I was more than grateful and went home that day, flowing.

I worked harder on the farm, with high hope of getting a better yield from it but rain refused to water them. Regardless of how much tried to water them, it wasn't enough for them. Soon, they began to wither away.

My heart withered with it each time I remember Alec.

Now, here I am. In front of my cruel helper, I'm ready to give him whatever he asks for.

“Where is my money, tiny girl?” He roared aloud.

He described me as a “tiny girl” because I look so lean and unhealthy, but that never concealed my beauty.

“I'll get it for you, master.” I spit in a trembling voice.

“You're two months overdue. Do you know what that means?” He asked in a low and gentle voice that contradicted the look I glanced at.

Of course, I know what it means. It means I have to be his slave till I get the money complete. Or pay it off with my body. But I doubt if he would have such interest in me.

“Yes, Master. I know, but I need more time, please.” I pleaded in a bow, but he burst into wild laughter.

“More time? To do what?” He scoffed.

“It's the rain!” I said sharply, lifting my head to meet his piercing green eyes. “The rain had refused to bless my work. Please, give me more time.” I pleaded as my head slowly winded back to the floor.

“You think I'm here to talk or have a chat with you?” He scoffed. “Take her away. She would warm my bed tonight.” He said, turning to his men.

I shouted in disbelief. Trembling as the men walked toward me. Just as they were about to grab me, the door to the den flung opened, and it was Jasper at the door. A subconscious huff of relief escaped my lips, and a tear dropped on my left cheek.

He must have told the Alpha about me and had sent him here to save me. I knew it! The Alpha loves me, and he would never watch me suffer.

“Hey, Jasper! You have no business here. Here is my territory.” Alec bellowed in his thick voice as he got to his feet.

“Of course, I know this is your territory. And I dare not intrude without an important reason.” He started as he walked further into the den.

Alec's men held tightly to their weapons, ready to attack at Jasper's slightly mistake, but he pouted his lips at them and ignored them.

Standing in front of Alec, he glanced at me, who was in the corner of the den.

“She! She is why I'm here.” He said in a firm voice, pointing at me.

Alec scoffed and walked some steps away from Jasper. He took in a few puffs before turning to Jasper.

“Why would you be here for her? The Alpha got eyes in her?” He mocked and laughed out.

“Don't you dare, Alec. That's a crime, to mock the Alpha. Please keep in mind, you're still under him.” Jasper gritted his teeth as he spoke.

The laughter on Alec's face disappeared, followed by a stern look.

“What do you want with her then?”

“She is my business, and I've come to take care of her.”

“Since when did she become your business?”

“Since I saw her and couldn't resist her charm. I fell in love with her.”

My eyes glistened.
