Chapter 81 Please Stop
After hearing Cassidy's words, Easton stopped hitting Owen.
He glanced at Cassidy, who slowly pulled down the hood covering her head. When their eyes met, Cassidy almost turned away from his intense gaze.
But she knew she had to appear compliant now to make Easton let Owen go and possibly even free herself from Easton's grasp.
"I'll go with you," she said, her voice still hoarse, carrying a hint of sensuality. "Just stop hitting him. I'll go back with you."
"Alright." Easton withdrew his gaze and signaled the bodyguards to release Owen. "Then let's go now."
"Wait, wait!" Cassidy hurriedly grabbed Easton, who was about to take her away.
Just a second ago, she had agreed to go back with him, and now she was hesitating.
Easton's face, which had just softened a bit, turned grim again. He gripped Cassidy's wrist tightly, forcibly pulling her into his arms.
"Cassidy, you haven't forgotten what you just said, have you?"
"No!" Cassidy quickly denied. "Easton, I've put a lot of effort into running this bar. I can't just leave it like this."
Easton laughed angrily, "You think I'll agree to let you stay here?"
"That's not what I mean." His grip on her wrist tightened, making Cassidy's face turn pale from the pain. "Easton, you're holding too tight. It hurts."
Her once rosy wrist was now turning white from Easton's tight grip. Easton frowned and loosened his grip slightly.
"I probably won't be coming back. You have to give me some time to handle things here," Cassidy continued.
Easton didn't want to waste any more time here and was about to refuse. Cassidy sensed it and quickly added, "Easton, I know this bar means nothing to you, but it's very important to me! If you refuse me now, I'll find a way to come back here in the future!"
Easton's expression darkened even more. What was Cassidy saying? She wanted to come back here behind his back? She wanted to leave him again?
"So just let me handle things here, okay? After that, I'll go with you and won't come back. I promise I'll make it quick."
Because of her previous threat, Easton was clearly less resistant to this request now. He let go of Cassidy's hand. "You better hurry."
Cassidy rubbed her sore wrist, cursing Easton in her mind. Easton had the bodyguards surround all the exits, warning them that no one could leave the bar until Cassidy returned.
Easton didn't follow Cassidy. After she left, the bodyguards also released Owen. He remembered the direction Cassidy went and, after thinking about her destination, headed in another direction and successfully met up with Cassidy.
Cassidy felt very guilty when she saw Owen. If it weren't for her, Owen wouldn't have been beaten by Easton. But Owen smiled at her, "Cassidy, don't worry, I'm not hurt."
Owen knew this was Cassidy's only chance to escape. If she went back with Easton, she would definitely be punished. Easton might even imprison her, making it impossible for her to escape his control.
So he immediately grabbed Cassidy's hand. "Cassidy, come with me."
When Easton forced Cassidy into sex in the bathroom, Owen had memorized the positions of the bodyguards outside. There were two guards at each exit.
But it was their first time here, so they didn't know how many exits the bar had, and they missed a very hidden one, with only one guard nearby.
As long as Owen could hold off that guard, Cassidy could seize the chance to escape!
When Owen told Cassidy his plan, she immediately refused. "I can't let you take that risk."
Easton found this bar because he suspected Owen had helped her with the fake death plan.
If she escaped again with Owen's help, Easton would never let Owen go.
Owen was only eighteen, the best years of his life. She didn't want Owen to get hurt because of her.
Owen guessed her thoughts from her expression and smiled to reassure her, "Cassidy, don't worry about me."
"Easton might be very angry, but he won't kill me."
"The most important thing now is for you to leave quickly. If we take too long, Easton will definitely find out."
Cassidy still couldn't bear to let Owen take the risk, but Owen insisted. "Cassidy, I want you to be free."
Cassidy fell silent.
After a few seconds, Cassidy looked up. "Owen, thank you, and I'm sorry."
'Thank you for being willing to help me again and again,' she thought to herself. 'Sorry for bringing you harm again and again.'
Owen didn't respond to Cassidy's words, just led her towards the hidden exit.
Sure enough, there was only one guard outside the exit. Owen looked at Cassidy, and they both understood each other.
Owen went out and fought with the guard, creating an opportunity for Cassidy to escape.
Cassidy seized the moment and ran out of the exit.
She didn't dare look back, afraid that seeing Owen being beaten would make her turn back.
But the fight between Owen and the guard still attracted attention. When the news of Cassidy's escape reached Easton, he angrily smashed a glass.
He didn't chase after Cassidy because he believed she wouldn't get far; he would catch her again.
So he walked up to Owen.
Owen, exhausted from the fight with the guard, was already struggling.
"Owen, this is the second time!"
This was the second time he had helped Cassidy escape from him!
Easton could no longer control his anger, punching Owen repeatedly.
Owen couldn't fight back, forced to endure Easton's rage, blood constantly dripping from his mouth.
The noise behind her was too loud. Cassidy couldn't help but look back and saw Owen being beaten by Easton.
Easton was furious, each punch heavy. Even from a distance, Cassidy felt her heart clench.
She couldn't let it continue.
Owen seemed to have lost consciousness. If this continued, Owen would be killed!
Owen had been caught because he helped her escape. She couldn't let Owen pay with his life for her sake!
Cassidy ran back like a madwoman, even as the wind blew away her covering clothes and her shoes fell off. She never stopped.
She ran to Easton's side, crying and shouting, "Easton, stop, please, stop!"
Owen had lost consciousness, sitting on the ground like a lifeless rag doll.
"Stop, Easton, I'll go back with you!"
