Chapter 63 The Only Person Who Can Help Her

Cassidy glanced at Owen, a bit taken aback. She had been so worried he wouldn't agree that she had already planned out how to convince him before coming over.

But he agreed so quickly that Cassidy was momentarily speechless.

Seeing her stunned expression made Owen a little uneasy. "What's up?"

Did he say something wrong?

"Nothing." Cassidy shook her head, snapping out of it.

"Owen, you don't even know what I'm asking you to help with. Are you sure it's cool to agree so fast?"

"What if it could cost you your life?"

"Isn't it a bit reckless to agree without knowing the details?"

As she spoke, Cassidy's voice softened. She knew Easton's personality well. If Easton found out Owen was secretly helping her escape, he definitely wouldn't let Owen off the hook.

Owen's immediate agreement made her feel guilty towards Owen.

Seeing her guilty expression, Owen felt a strange sense of happiness.

She had no idea how happy he was to hear that she needed his help.

Although he didn't know what Cassidy needed him to do, he was willing to help her even if it meant getting hurt.

"Owen," Cassidy pondered for a moment. She had to make sure Owen understood the seriousness of the situation. She didn't want him to get hurt and then blame her for not being clear.

"What I need your help with is really dangerous. I haven't told anyone else. I hope you'll think it over carefully before deciding whether to help me."

"If you really decide to, I'll tell you everything."

Her serious expression told Owen that what she wanted to say was indeed very dangerous.

But Owen's expression remained unchanged. "Cassidy, my feelings for you are real. Knowing that you need my help makes me feel needed, and that makes me happy."

"So, no matter what you need me to do, I won't refuse, even if it costs me my life."

He looked into Cassidy's eyes with utmost seriousness, proving to her that he wasn't joking.

Cassidy was moved, her eyes welling up. She lowered her head to compose herself, then looked up to thank Owen.

"Owen, thank you for being willing to help me. I'll tell you everything and do my best to keep you out of danger."

Owen's eyes were full of trust. Under such gaze, she felt her throat was blocked, so Cassidy turned to the vibrant flowers.

"Do you know about my relationship with Easton?"

Owen didn't expect her to bring this up right away. He knew about their relationship for a while. The day he found out, he had a fight with Easton, but they both tacitly agreed not to tell Cassidy.

Cassidy didn't know he already knew, so she took the initiative to tell him about their relationship.

"We were originally tied together by mutual interests. I wanted to survive in the Cooper family, and he wanted to become the head of the family."

"But now, he wants to marry me."

Hearing this, Owen's body stiffened. He had already heard this from Easton, but at that time, he was only filled with anger.

Now, hearing Cassidy talk about it, he felt a pang of heartache.

From Cassidy's tone, he didn't hear any happiness, indicating she didn't want to be with Easton. Was Easton forcing her?

"Owen, I don't want to be his wife. My original plan was to leave the Cooper family as soon as he became the head, but I didn't expect that he wants a marriage."

Cassidy was just speaking her mind and didn't notice Owen's expression changed when she mentioned wanting to leave the Cooper family.

She wanted to leave?

Where did she want to go?

"He has already made plans. In a few days, there will be an exhibition. He plans to stage an accident at the exhibition to fake my death, then give me a new identity and marry me afterward."

She turned around, looking at Owen with determination. "Owen, that's my only chance to escape."

She had been preparing for this day for a long time, even faking a pregnancy to deceive them, all to escape from the Cooper family.

Easton had feelings for her, but she didn't want to be a caged bird by his side. She just wanted to escape from the prison Easton had woven for her.

"Easton is very perceptive. If he senses it, he definitely won't let me out of his control."

"Owen, I hope you can help me escape. You're the only one I can rely on now."

They stood in the greenhouse, sunlight streaming through the glass roof, making Cassidy's eyes sparkle with a longing for freedom and determination.

If this plan failed, she might die, but she had no regrets; she had to do this.

Owen was moved by the determination in her eyes. At that moment, he seemed to feel Cassidy's tension, anticipation, and longing for this plan.

She didn't want to stay in the Cooper family. She didn't want to stay by Easton's side. And the exhibition in a few days was her only chance for freedom.

"Cassidy, I will help you." His voice was soft, but Cassidy heard it clearly.

Owen whispered in his mind, 'If this is what you want, I will do whatever it takes to make it happen.'

She lowered her head, her voice choked with emotion. "Thank you, and I'm sorry."

Thanks for being willing to help her.

Sorry for putting him in such danger.

Owen understood her thoughts. He raised his hand to comfort her, but when his palm was about to touch her shoulder, he pulled it back.

Cassidy didn't notice Owen's movement. After getting his response, they left the greenhouse separately.

The exhibition was coming up soon. She had to ensure she could escape smoothly that day, so she needed to get more details about the fake death plan from Easton.

After Cassidy left, Owen returned to his room.

His mind was filled with everything Cassidy had said to him.

He had never thought about becoming the head of the family and had never had a direct confrontation with Easton. But he had heard about Easton's actions from others.

On the day of the exhibition, he had to take Cassidy away from Easton's plan. It was a difficult task, and he needed to think carefully about how to act.

But he was too nervous, his mind unable to calm down. In the end, he could only investigate the exhibition and try to guess Easton's plan.

Easton had three possible routes to choose from. No matter which route it was, Owen had to come up with a corresponding plan.

The thought of possibly facing Easton head-on made Owen instinctively nervous. But remembering everything Cassidy had said in the greenhouse, he slowly anchored himself and became more determined.

No matter what difficulties he faced on the day of the exhibition, he had to take Cassidy away.
