Chapter 310: Then Come at Me

Vivian hurriedly went downstairs and returned to her own house. As expected, she saw her grandmother lying on the floor in the bathroom.

She quickly went forward to inquire, "Grandmother, where does it hurt? Can you still move your legs? How about your waist?"

Margaret groaned and supported her waist, saying, "There's nothing wrong with my legs, but my waist and ribs hurt a bit. I think I twisted them."

"And the ribs too?" Vivian, who had learned some traditional medicine from Graham and had some experience in dealing with injuries like cuts, gunshot wounds, and fractures, reached out and felt. "Let me see if there's a fracture."

Margaret winced in pain and said, "There probably isn't a fracture. It's likely just a muscle strain."

Vivian nodded. "The bones seem fine, but we can't rule out the possibility of a hairline fracture. This is not something we can determine by touch alone, so we should go to the hospital for an X-ray. I'll take you there."

"Don't bother!" Margaret immediately refused. "It's just a strain, and I don't want to bother at this late hour. I'll just lie down for the night, and if it still hurts tomorrow, you can take me to the hospital then. If it doesn't hurt tomorrow, then we don't need to go."

It was indeed getting late outside, and it wasn't a serious injury anyway, so Vivian agreed.

"Then let me help you to bed first. Even if it's just a sprain, it's best to go to the hospital tomorrow and get some medicine."

"Alas, it's all my fault for being careless," Margaret sighed. "Did I disturb you and Ethan?"

"No." Vivian shook her head. "It's just that I wasn't considerate enough. I'll have someone put an extra non-slip mat in the bathroom tomorrow."

As Vivian spoke, she slowly helped Margaret up.

After Margaret was settled on the bed, she murmured, "What if I need to use the bathroom tonight?"

"Of course, I'll help you," Vivian said. "I'll sleep here tonight to take care of you.”

“Then you won’t go upstairs tonight?”

“I won’t. I will take care of you here. You rest first, and I'll go get you a glass of water."

Margaret nodded. "Good, I'm a little thirsty."

After leaving Margaret's room, Vivian immediately reached for her phone and sent a message to Ethan, letting him know that she wouldn't be going upstairs.

Ethan had long expected this result, so it wasn't very surprising.

They chatted for a while and Vivian put away her phone.

Margaret usually slept early and couldn't fall asleep when there was light, so Vivian didn't play with her phone in bed after turning off the lights.

Before going to sleep, they chatted for a while.

Margaret asked Vivian, "Has Ethan been living upstairs recently?"

"Yes," Vivian replied, "it's more convenient to go to work from here, and it's also close to me. By the way, Grandmother, there's something I haven't had a chance to tell you."

"What is it? Go ahead."

"Well, a while ago, I went back to Yondora, right? Ethan came later too. He also met my grandparents there. Initially, they didn't know him well, so they didn't approve of our marriage.”

"But my brother tested Ethan, and he passed the test smoothly. In the end, my grandparents also approved of him. Grandmother, I'm very happy that Ethan has gained the approval of my grandparents and brother."

Vivian said this because she knew Margaret did not like Ethan. But if William and her grandparents approved of Ethan, why couldn't Margaret?

Margaret also understood the implied meaning in Vivian's words.

She thought for a moment and said, "It seems that Ethan is really outstanding. Even your grandfather approves of him. I should change my opinion of him. However, Vivian, some impressions cannot be changed so easily. I still can't forget the scene of Ethan pushing Captain Davis down from the rooftop. He looked so terrified."

"Grandmother." Vivian knew that Margaret mentioned this matter unintentionally, but she really didn't want to recall that scene. "Let's not talk about this anymore. Let's go to sleep."

...

The next morning, Margaret woke up early.

Vivian was awakened by Margaret's movements.

Seeing Margaret getting out of bed, Vivian immediately sat up and asked, "Grandmother, where are you going?"

Margaret supported her waist and said, "I'm going to make breakfast. You can sleep a little longer. I'll call you when it's ready."

"Don't bother!" Vivian immediately pushed back the thin blanket and got out of bed. "I'll cook breakfast. You take care of your waist."

"It's alright." Margaret lightly tapped her waist and said, "It's not hurting as much now, and I don't need to go to the hospital. I'll leave you to your work today. Don't worry about me. Ask Ethan to come back for dinner tonight."

"Are you really fine now? Please don't shoulder everything on your own. I suggested hiring someone to cook and do housework, but you didn't want to."

"Why hire someone? Doing household chores is also a form of exercise. You want me to sit and relax all day long, but I'd rather not. Why don't you lie down and sleep a little longer?"

Even so, Vivian still got up and made breakfast with Margaret.

After having breakfast, Margaret asked, "Are you going to work with Ethan later?"

"No." Vivian glanced at the time and said, "I'm not going to work today. I have some other things to take care of elsewhere. As for Ethan, he'll probably sleep for another hour. I won't go with him. I'll just leave in a while."

Margaret glanced at her and said, "See? I told you to sleep a bit more, but you never listen."

"No need. I'm well-rested." Vivian didn't have a big appetite in the morning, so she finished quickly.

After breakfast, she changed clothes and headed out.

Originally, she had planned to go out directly, but after looking at the time, she suddenly changed her mind and went straight to Ethan's residence upstairs.

She quietly entered Ethan's bedroom after opening the door.

Ethan was still sleeping, and the curtains were tightly drawn, making the room dim.

She walked over and quietly kissed Ethan on the lips.

Thinking it would go unnoticed, but just as Vivian was about to leave, the man beneath her suddenly pinned her down.

"Are you trying to seduce me early in the morning?" Ethan reached out and pinched Vivian's chin. "Why are you so naughty?"

Vivian gave Ethan a disdainful look. "I haven't even started being naughty yet. When did you wake up? Were you intentionally trying to scare me?"

"I wasn't trying to scare you. I just wanted to see what you were up to. I woke up the moment you opened the door. Actually, I'm a light sleeper," Ethan explained.

"Why?" Vivian furrowed her eyebrows upon hearing that Ethan was a light sleeper. "According to Brevard, Professor Harrison's antidote seemed to work well. Why are you still having trouble sleeping?"

Ethan lowered his head and bit Vivian. "Are you really clueless or pretending to be? I can't sleep well because I've been thinking about someone, both physically and mentally. Now, I won't let you off the hook."

Vivian hooked her finger at him. "Then come at me..."
