I sat there, staring at my desk, with a pencil in my hand and an A4 paper in front of me. I was supposed to be drawing sketches for the upcoming fashion show, but instead of sketching designs, I was busy drawing a rough sketch of Damien’s broad, hot chest.
I looked at the drawing and couldn’t help but laugh at myself.
“Get a grip, Julie,” I muttered to myself. “Since when do you doodle men during work hours?”
But I couldn’t help it. His physique was hard to ignore-those broad shoulders that made him look like he could carry the weight of the world and still be okay, the sharp jawline that always had me gushing over him. Even his hands, large and rough, could turn me on.
I shook my head. “Stop drooling over a man, Julie. You’ve got work to do.”
Just then, my phone buzzed. It was Damien.
Damien: “I’m at your office. Hope you didn’t drive today.”
Speaking of the devil. Why did he have this effect on me? I quickly looked at the small mirror I had and fixed my hair. I arranged my dress and put on some lipstick.
“All done.” I said as I took my bag and left the building.
It was hard trying to hide how happy I was to meet him after spending my work hours thinking about him, but I tried not to make it noticeable because I knew if he saw me this excited, he would definitely make fun of me until the end.
As he saw me, he quickly got out of the car and rushed to open the front door for me.
“Quite the gentleman, huh?” I asked.
“You look stunning as usual. Have you always been this beautiful?” he asked.
“Can you please stop flattering me?” I said as I entered the passenger seat.
He drove us to an Italian restaurant. The moment we were seated, a waiter appeared to take our orders.
As soon as the waiter left, I turned to Damien.
“Congrats on the deal, once again,” I said, raising my glass of water. “It’s a big win for you.”
“Thanks,” he said, leaning back in his chair. “But tonight’s not about work. It’s about us.”

I raised an eyebrow. “Us?”
He smiled as he looked at me. “Yes, us. And how I plan to devour you tonight.”
I nearly choked on my water as I burst out laughing. “Damien!”

“What?” he asked with a serious face. “I’m just being honest. You should know by now, I don’t play games.”
“You know, let’s forget about the first impression I have of you. Tonight, in my bed, I’m not only going to make you shout my name, but I will make you moan harder. I’ll make you beg for more,” he said.
I rolled my eyes, but I couldn’t hide the smile.
“Can we please talk about something else?”
“Fine,” he said, as he touched my hand.
“So my lady, what do you want to talk about?”
I hesitated for a bit as I played with the straw in my drink, trying not to make eye contact with him. “Your family,” I finally said.
His smile disappeared as he sat upright. “Why do you want to talk about that?“
“You’ve never mentioned them,” I said. “Not once. I just… I want to know more about you. Damien. The real you.”
He leaned back, crossing his arms. “Have I asked you about your family?”
“No, because you haven’t asked,” I said. “But I’ll tell you anything you want to know.”
He turned his head, looking at me. “You want to know about my family? Fine. Tell me about yours first.”
I sighed. “Alright. My parents divorced when I was a teenager. My mom… she’s in a special needs home, and my dad and I aren’t really close. I’ve barely spoken to him for up to five years.”
Damien nodded but didn’t say anything.
“Your turn,” I prompted.
He put his hand on his head as he stared at me and smiled.
“Nice try, but if you want to know about my family, you’ll have to work harder than this.”
“Work harder?” 1 frowned. “What does that even mean?”

“It means,” he said as he leaned closer, “if you really want to know about my family, then you need to work a bit harder… in bed, tonight.”
I stared at him, trying to stop the urge to smile, but I couldn’t. “You really can’t be serious for
once.”
“Oh, I’m very serious,” he said.
“Damien,” I said, then paused. “You know what? It’s alright. If you don’t want to talk about it, then maybe we won’t. Maybe I’m not that important for you to tell me about your family.”
“You’re important to me,” he said gently. “But for now, I don’t want to talk about my family. I want to talk about you, or better yet, just focus on me.”
I sighed, leaning back in my chair. “Secretive, huh? Maybe your family are spies, or worse still, you’re from the royal lineage of England or the President of America,” I teased.
He chuckled, reaching for my hand on the table. “And do you think if I were any of those, you’d be able to have dinner with me?”
“But for you, I wouldn’t mind being your spy,” he added with a smirk.
“You really are something,” I said as I emptied my cup.
“Yes, my lady, I can be anything for you,” he said.
The waiter returned with our food. As he served us and left, we ate in comfortable silence.
“That reminds me-your fashion project. How is it going? And I’m sorry I haven’t been able to attend the meetings,” he said.
“Can we not talk about work? If I wanted to, I’d be at work right now,” I said.
“Then should we go to my place so I can help you relax?” he said with a smirk,
