Damien POV

“Oh, please, do tell me how I’m supposed to greet my ex–wife, who left me for my top client,” I asked, looking at her, expecting an answer. But she did not say anything.
“You have less than ten minutes, or I’m out of this place. The only reason I came here is because of your mother, so you better start talking, or I’m out of here,” I said.
“I just got divorced. Raymond, cheated on me” she said.
I let out a chuckle. “Congratulations,” I said, leaning back in my

“Is it not enough that I’m back and I regret leaving you? Is that not enough for you? I regret ever letting you go. Besides, your company was not making any progress; it was not enough to sustain my kind of life, so I had no other choice,” she said nonchalantly.
I scoffed. She was still the same–still self–centered. This was clearly a waste of my time.
“I regret coming here. You know what? Never contact me again. I was a fool expecting something from you,” I said as I stood up. stopped me by grabbing my suit

“You came here because you love me and can’t get me out of your mind. You and I both know that you are still madly in love with me and you still adore me,” she said.
“Yeah, keep on being delusional. Right now, all I feel for you is hate and disgust: Iyometimes ask myself how the hell I ever fell in love with a self–centered person like you. That Damien who would do anything to make you happy died a year ago, and right now, I just can’t seem to stand the sight of you,” I said.
“Then why did you come! Why did you come here?” she asked as she stood up,
“To see your pitiful sight, to see how pitiful you have become, to see how you will beg me to come back to you, and I definitely enjoyed it–every moment of it,” I said while smiling.
Her face turned red as she raised her hand to slap me, but I caught her wrist
“If even the tip of your fingers touches my face, you will hear from my lawyer,” I said.
She yanked her hand away, as she glared at ine
“Bastard,” she cursed.
I turned to leave, but paused for a moment, just to take one last look at her. She stood there, her eyes tearing, her hands trembling. For a moment, I almost felt pity for her. Almost.
Tell me something” I said, my voice calm. “Would you still want me back if I wasn’t rich? If I wasn’t a billionaire?”
Her mouth opened, but no words came out. Then she looked away, and her silence was enough of an answer.

“I thought as much,” I said as I walked out of the restaurant.
I settled into the backseat of my car. “Take me home,” I instructed my driver, closing my eyes.
“Yes sir” he said.
As I leaned my head on the headrest, all I could think of was Cassandra, Maybe she was right about me still being in love with her. She has not changed a bit, maybe apart from some wrinkles on her face.
My phone rang, interrupting my thoughts. I opened my eyes to see who was calling–it was my father. After much hesitation, I picked up the call.
“I have a job for you.” He said,
“Is that what you say to your son, whom you haven’t seen in two years? You didn’t even bother to ask how I was doing?” I said.
“The news tells me all I need to know about you. Meet me by 9 p.m. today at SkyView,” he said.
“SkyView?” I asked. Of all places, SkyView–this was the last place I wanted to be
Yes and don’t be late.” He said.
“I’m sorry to bring the news to you, old man, but I’ll be traveling out of town for a business project, so I won’t be available–maybe next. time, and definitely not at SkyView,” I said, as I tried to end the call.
“Oh boy, this wasn’t a request but an instruction. You will meet me at SkyView. If you don’t want your dirty little secret exposed in public, do I make myself clear?” he asked.
“If this is how you think you will always have your way with me, then you are wrong. For over a year, you have been using this me to get me to do your bidding. Aren’t you tired?”
“9pm and don’t be late” he sai

“Dammit,” I cursed. Was this how he planned to keep using me?
