Chapter 165
New Alex
Andrian pov
The private Elite lounge, a hidden room known only to the top of the social ladder. It was my escape, the only place where I could be alone. No one else had access. No one else should have access. This is why my entire body tensed the moment the door clicked open. I scampered to fix myself quickly.I shot up from my chair, turning sharply,And froze.Alex Davidson. He stood in the doorway, leaning against the frame like he owned the damn place. For Christmas sake, the place is my personal space reserved only for the head of the Elites.A now familiar lazy smirk played on his lips, his sharp eyes scanning the room before settling on me.How the hell did he get in?I narrowed my eyes. “How did you get the key?”Alex didn’t answer. He stepped inside, closing the door behind him with a soft click. My stomach twisted, but I refused to show it.“This place is meant only for me, the head of the Elites.” My voice was cold, demanding, but Alex?He only tilted his head slightly, that same smirk still on his lips.Like he wasn’t even listening.Like he didn’t care.Tension filled the room. I was dying to know what was happening and aAlex was all mysterious.Alex took another step forward, closing the distance between us.“Who gave you the key?” I asked again, this time gritting my teeth.Silence.His gaze dropped to my lips for a fleeting second before meeting my eyes again.Something was wrong. This wasn’t the Alex I knew. This wasn’t even the same Alex that I have known. The nervous and fumbling blue eyes boy in the camp. This Alex was dangerous.Seductive. He was heartless now.I felt it the moment he moved even closer, the heat of his body radiating toward me. My heart started pounding against my rib cage.Had he seen me when I was performing my unholy act. I had grunted his name. Did he hear?My breath hitched just for a second, but Alex caught it.And he grinned.“Why are you so tense, Andrian?” His voice was lower now, smooth like silk, wrapping around me like a trap. “If I don't know, I would say you are uncomfortable”I clenched my jaw. “Don’t play games with me.”“Games?” He let out a soft chuckle, stepping even closer until he was just inches away, barely any space separated me from the devil himself. His scent hit me all at once, that baby powder smell, it was still there, but it was faint, now it's being corroded with an expensive cologne. My anger sparked like wildfire. I didn’t know why I was suddenly angry but I couldn’t control it.“I am the head of the Elites Alex, live with it, because there is nothing you can do about it” I emphasized on my point, staring down at him.“Ohh really…” was his only reply before he closed the distance, pushing me against the wall.My body reacted to his touch before my mind could process that I was backed against a wall. Me Andrian Rufus was being bossed around, and I was enjoying it.I didn’t know, but there was something that Alex had. A natural aura around him that would want you to listen to him, to do his commands. Which I saw myself doing. My pulse quickened. My fingers twitched.Alex was close.Too close. His fingers brushed against the front of my shirt, slow, teasing, trailing up to my collar.“You look nervous,” he whispered.I swallowed hard, my body stiff.I was nervous. But not for the reason he thought.Alex wasn’t just seducing me.He was toying with me.And fuck…It was working. His lips curled into a smirk, his fingers tracing my jaw lightly, making my breath hitch again.I wanted to grab his hand.I wanted to stop this before it spiraled out of control. But I didn’t.Because, deep down, a part of me wanted to see where this was going.Alex leaned in, his lips just a breath away from mine.I felt the heat of his body, the ghost of his breath against my skin. I held my breath, expecting to finally feel those sexy lips of his that I had only fantasized a few minutes ago, what never came. Then…Alex laughed.A soft, cruel laugh, it pierced the haze that seemed to have covered my senses, bringing me back from the land of the sane people.I blinked, confusion snapping me out of whatever trance he had put me under. Before I could react, he stepped back, a wicked glint in his eyes.“Oh, Andrian,” he sighed, shaking his head.Something dark settled in my stomach. He knew.He knew exactly how close I was to losing control. And he is teasing me.I clenched my fists. “What the hell are you playing at?”Alex crossed his arms, his smirk never faltering.“Did you really think I was here for you?. Or that I came to kiss you, our king.” His voice was laced with amusement, but there was an edge to it, something sharp.I stiffened.“What?”Alex’s smirk widened.“I came to show you this”My mind went into shock as I saw the key to my private classroom dangling in Alex's sexy hands. I swallowed hard.“Who gave you the key?” I growled, now getting really pissed.“Common wolf boy, I am now the new head. Are you so dumb not to see it”“You can't…”“I just did,” he raised the key, “I plan to make it official on the Elite conference,”My worst fear had happened, “you wouldn't want to cross me, Alex, I am a Rufus”“And I am a Davidson” he replied, matching the same hard tone I had used.He was right. He was a Davidson, the once strongest family in history, that declined when the head disappeared and there was no record of an Heir to take his place, but now…“You’re going to be my messenger.”My entire body went cold. My eyes widened in shock.Alex only grinned.“What the hell does that mean?” I snapped when I finally came out from my shock.“It means…” he leaned in again, “that you are my servant, and you will deliver this message to all the Elites,”My body threatened to explode from barely contained anger. My fist inches to smash something, but oddly not his face. When I was still in my thoughts, Alex leaned even closer this time, bringing his lips to my ear, his voice dropping into a dark whisper.“I heard and saw everything” Alex said, before walking toward the door like he hadn’t just wrecked my entire reality.“See you soon, Andrian. For our last practice. Horny Music Prodigy.”And then he was gone.Leaving me behind.Shaken.Confused.And completely, utterly powerless. The last practice was a disaster. Or one that was a disaster, I couldn't focus for once to play a note correctly. I always missed my notes, and Alex found every chance to insult me and my capabilities.I sighed, entering the car that was already waiting for me.“Rough day” Enzo my P.A. asked.I chose to ignore his question, I didn't want to talk about it, and I never would talk about how I had so much embarrassed myself today. And the worst of all, I was caught. His words said it all.“Fuck,” I pushed the car seat, letting out my built up anger.“Is everything alright, mas… andrian”“Nothing, it's just some random trouble…” I stopped in the middle of what I was about to say, an idea coming inside my head.“Drive Enzo,”Alex thinks he is tough. He is acting all heartless and strong, but when have I backed away from a challenge.” I will surely have my last laugh, and that time I would make him realise that he messed with the wrong Elite.I smiled, different plans twirling inside my head.
