Chapter 12 Thirsty

"Oops, sorry." A familiar voice said, then you heard laughters from a group.

You weren't stupid not to know that it came from the elite group. And Margo's voice rings in your head the moment you heard her voice in the rooftop which you can never forget.

Your knee hurts from the fall, you were just lucky your hands stopped your upper body to fall to the ground with too much force. And you weren't insensitive not to feel that someone put her foot on your way to purposely trip you.

You look up to see their faces but you only saw Taehyung's eyes staring back at you. He had his brows furrowed like he was annoyed. Maybe he thinks you're stupid to fall face first?

"That's her, Margo. She's been hanging out with Taehyung in the rooftop." A girl with black long hair and full bangs said to Margo who had her chin in the palm of her hand as she look down at you with joy in her eyes.

Like she's happy that you fell. The way she looks at you made you feel so little, like she's your superior. And you concluded that she was the one who made you trip.

"Get up." Taehyung said, his voice stern.

Margo held his wrist then she looks up at him, "Why, Taehyung? We're still having fun watching her trip herself." She said, displaying a smirk.

"That's enough. Get up." He said. You stood up slowly, dusting off your uniform.

You were looking down as the elite group were giving you stares that made you feel uncomfortable and little. You also didn't want to meet Taehyung's eyes that shows annoyance which you aren't sure if it's directed at you.

"Look at this knight in shining armor ready to save our damsel in distress like a sweet boyfriend protecting his girl." Margo spat in bitterness.

"Stop dragging her into this, we are not dating. You're making yourself stupid." Taehyung said, emotionless.

Margo was stunned and embarrassed that she couldn't throw back words and was left there turning red in anger. Her friends consoled her, running their hands on her back and whispering words to her.

Taehyung only walks pass by your side and left you all alone there. Of course he shouldn't concern himself too much with your situation right now since he just denied that you're dating each other which is the truth. You understood him and you thank him for somehow defending you with the elite group that you can never fight with because of the power they hold.

So you went to Nayeon and told her your order, she was asking what happened there and why did you fell. She was also asking if the elites are making fun of you which you denied.

Nayeon's blood was already boiling at Margo, you didn't want to add fuel to the fire.

The night came and you've decided to sit on the dinner table with your parents to tell you your decision.

"I'm moving out." You said out of the blue while they both eat in silence.

You saw your mom stop eating while your father nodded, "That's good. Make sure to never come back and go near us again. I don't want this case to fail again. You bring of bad luck anyways." He said.

And just like that, you feel your thread snap. Your brows furrowed and you felt annoyed. This is your last night with them might as well use this as a chance to voice out everything.

"I'm moving out of this house, isn't that enough for you?" You asked him.

He stopped eating then he looks at you.

"You will not see my face anymore but Dad, did you ever see me as your child? Did you even think of me as your daughter? Because you've always treated me as a trash, I know that I did something wrong, I know that it was my fault that Kara died but do you really have to let me go through this? Dad, I was also involved in that accident. I could've died too but God was too cruel and let me live." You said, you felt your tears forming again.

You held it in, you were annoyed of yourself for crying again this time. You're not supposed to cry right now as you fight for yourself. As you fire the last shot. You can't cry right now because that would only hinder you from getting this thoughts out of your head.

"I did everything for you. I tried so hard to equal Kara. I tried so hard to be a good daughter but you keep on neglecting me! For once, can't you just treat me as your child?" Your voice weakens at the end.

You suddenly sound like you're begging. Like you're back at being a lonely child asking for her parents' attention and affection. You hated it but this is the real you. You are thirsty of everything Kara had. You were trying to find the light in everyone and yet they would always choose to close it on you.

You stood up from your chair and went straight to your room. You pulled your luggage underneath your bed and opened it. You march towards your closet and grab everything you saw in it.

You weren't suppose to leave that night but you've already said your thoughts and you ended up making them see the real you. The thirsty you, and you didn't want that. You're done being weak, its time to separate yourselves from each other to ease your own pain.

You were crying so hard while you try to put everything on your luggage when your mom entered your room. You stopped from putting your clothes inside the luggage when she held your hands. Your chest hurts for yourself, for your mother and for leaving.

You didn't want to leave her alone in here but you've already made your choice.

"I'm sorry, Y/n. I'm sorry you had to go through this. But maybe this is what's best for you and your father." She says, and you saw her eyes glisten.

You sat on your bed while she sat across you, "I don't want to lose another daughter but I don't want to see you in pain over and over again." She said and you saw tears run down her cheeks. She caressed your head while she stare at your face like she's memorizing it.

"Don't worry, Mom. I'll be alright. I have my savings to help me support my education. I'm so sorry I've caused you so much pain." You cried in her hands.

She shook her head, "I hope to see you again in the future, Y/n. Take this, this is my own money that I saved from my work. I'll send you more if you ever run out of it, you don't have to work, just find yourself a good place to stay and make sure to eat, okay?" She said as she hand you her cards.

You nodded and threw your arms around her. "I'll hope for the day where Dad will be happy to see my face again." You whispered to her.

The saddest thing to see is when a child and mother part in the most devastating way. It's not because you wanted to be apart from each other but because this is what will help you both let go from everything. Because this is what life made you do.

In the end, your mother helped you pack your things while you called Kim Taehyung.

"Taehyung, I think I need to breathe." You said when he accepted the call.
