Chapter 39

Chapter 39
Beta Tyde's mom dwelled far away from the woods and within a two-story house with many houses next to hers. There were barely any trees or green fields for his wolf to run wild, which was one of the reasons he decided to leave and purchase a house near the woods. His wolf loves nature, and where he grew up, it was entirely concrete and asphalt, which felt like a prison for his wolf.

He opened the car door for Isabella. She waited for him to retrieve her suitcase from his car trunk, and they both walked towards the front door.

Beta Tyde knocked on the door. A short, black-and-grey-haired female, slightly taller than Isbella, opened the door.

Happy to see her son, she hugged him and kissed him on the right cheek. Isabella watched as she did so.

She then felt both jealous and sad, as she couldn't recall any of her parents ever hugging her or kissing her cheek. They were always so busy with work and also with each other; they never had any time for her.

Her parents only sent her presents and money, paid the bills, and believed they were doing their best; however, she wanted more – to be loved.

Isabella had felt alone for many years due to her parents' absence, but when she saw Beta Tyde, that loneliness vanished, and she realised she had to have him in her life. The sad thing was he too wasn't interested in her, like her parents.

"And who is this beautiful young female?" his mom said as she stopped hugging him.

"Mom, this is Isabella; she will be staying with you for a while. She's in danger, and I need to sort the situation before she can return home," answered the Beta.

The Beta's mother's face became serious as he explained.

"Okay, come in quickly," his mother said.

As they did, she introduced herself.

"I'm Sandrine."

Isabella held out her hand for Sandrine to shake. Her eyes widened to be pulled in for a hug.

Isabella returned her hug. Her hug felt so warm and soothing.

Suddenly, Isabella began to cry.

"I'm sorry," Isabella said as she stopped hugging her.

"It's just that my mom and dad have never hugged me, so for you to do this as a stranger, it hurts."

It saddened the Beta to hear his fated mate say so, and he loathes her parents even more.

His mother hugged her again to comfort her.

As she does so he promises to give her many hugs when he mark her as his.

There will be nothing his fated mate lacks, he thought. He will ensure she has and gets everything she needs.

If she desires a star from the sky, he will find a way to get it for her even if it kills him. Beta Tyde loved his fated mate with his entire heart, body, and soul, and there is nothing he would not do for her.

He carried her suitcase while his mom led her to the room that she would be staying in.

"I'll be downstairs," the Beta said as he placed down the suitcase.

Isabella later learnt that she would be staying in Beta Tyde's old room. As Sandrine went back downstairs, Isabella looked around the place, noticing the small bed with a poster on the wall featuring football players and singers.

His study table across the room had his old textbook.

She sat on his bed, covered in a blue sheet, and lay back, imagining him lying there as well. Probably shirtless. In the movies she'd watched, boys always slept in their underpant. She figured Beta Tyde would do the same. She turned on her side as if he were lying next to her, shirtless and in his underpant, staring into her eyes.

Isabella rolled onto her belly, smelling the bed for his scent. She takes in his scent that reminds her of the plants and trees as if she were running into the woods in her wolf form.

Beta Tyde stood in the living room waiting for his mother. He understood his mother well enough to anticipate that she would suspect there was more to the reason he wanted Isabella to stay here.

His mom came into the living room; her dark eyes held questions she needed answers for, as he had expected.

"You are my son, and I know you very well. That she-wolf upstairs who looks like she's 13 is not only someone you're just protecting as a Beta. There is more between you, and please tell me there isn't," Sandrine said, upset.

"She's seventeen," Beta Tyde corrected her.

He then persisted, "There's nothing between me and her; she is my fated mate, but she doesn't know as yet."

As he spoke, his eyes went from his mom to see his fated mate standing at the entrance of the living room.

His eyes widened, knowing she now knew they were fated mates.
