Hunter ended up extending his stay in Ghana for another one week. It ruined the date plans we had made but I did my best to suck it up for him. He didn't need a nagging girlfriend but a supportive one who understood he was a busy CEO who was in charge of millions of livelihoods.

"Thank you for doing this."I appreciated Sonie as she helped me paint my toes and nails.

"Are you kidding? It's my pleasure since the boys are with their aunt today."Sonie replied blowing on my nails to help the polish dry faster.

We'd decided to hang out and help each other do our nails and hair since we had nothing better to do. I'd settled for an Iris purple color already bored with the pink Hunter had chosen for me.

"So what's going on better between you and Mr hotshot? I haven't seen him in a while?"Sonie asked me.

There was no malicious tone in her voice meaning she was just curious so I decided to be honest with her.

"We're doing great. He's in Ghana for business and was supposed to be back a couple of days ago but he had to extend his stay."I replied smiling fondly when thoughts of Hunter invaded my mind.

"You must miss him huh?"Sonie asked looking up at me from her squatted position on the floor.

"Very much. I've never felt this way about anyone before. I know I've only had one boyfriend before him but I've flirted with guys before and they never made me feel like Hunter does."I confessed with a lost look on my face.

"Are you sure you're not in love with him because girl, you sound smitten."Sonie teased.

I looked at her with wide eyes, her words causing my heart to beat faster. In love? I wasn't in love with Hunter. I'd promised myself not to cross that line.

"I'm not in love with him. Our relationship isn't like that."I choked out.

"Yeah right? Then how is it like?"Sonie asked with an eye roll.

She was putting me on the spot and I didn't like that.

"We're dating but just that, it's not like we're dating for marriage or anything so falling in love isn't allowed."I mumbled.

"That has to be one of the most stupid things I've ever heard you say."Sonie scowled giving me an unimpressed look.

"You don't have to be mean to me."I lamented with a pout.

"I have to because what you said is nonsense. Hunter is from one of the richest families in Kenya yet he spends nights here with you in this tiny room. He spoils you, introduces you to his family and friends and treats you like a queen. If that isn't love I don't know what is. You might not love him but he sure loves you. Believe me no man does all that for a woman he doesn't love. Get it from a woman with two boys from a broken marriage."Sonie advised.

Her words hit deep and I found myself contemplating them. Hunter and I were great together but he surely wasn't in love with me. I mean that isn't what we had agreed.

"I didn't mean to upset you but I'm just saying things as they are. You two are perfect for each other but if you don't see a future with him then you need to let him go because I'm sure the guy would marry you tomorrow if you asked."Sonie pointed out.

"I'm too young to be married Sonie."I cried.

"Love knows no age. If you find something good it's best to hold onto it as tight as you can. You don't have to marry him now but you have to decide if you're just having fun or if this is serious before its too late."She advised.

What Hunter and I had was more than just pure fun and we did look good together but marriage? Was I leading him on and using him? I didn't like the sound of that but the thought of love and marriage was even scarier.

I was about to reply and ask for more advice when there was a knock on my door.

"Expecting any guests?"Sonie asked me.

"No, not really."I replied looking at the door weirdly.

There was a second knock and since my toes and nails hadn't dried yet, Sonie got up to answer it.

It was a delivery guy as advertised by the bag on his back and reflector jacket he was wearing.

"Excuse me, is this Nala Kawira's house?"He asked politely.

"Yes but I didn't order anything."I replied from my position on the chair.

"I know ma'am someone made an order for you. A Hunter Makau."He explained.

I smiled when I heard my man's name.

"Makes more sense."I replied.

"Okay, please sign here to indicate that you received it."He replied handing Sonie a tablet to give to me.

I quickly signed as he unloaded a huge box from his delivery bag. Sonie handed him his tablet back and in a couple of minutes he was gone.

"This is heavy. Is he in here?"Sonie cried as she carried the box in.

"It's too small to fit him."I retorted looking at the box puzzled.

What had Hunter sent me?

"Hurry up and open it. I want to see what Mr Hotshot sent you."Sonie demanded excitedly placing the box on my bed.

"I'm anxious too but I need to let my nails dry properly first."I replied blowing on them.

"Okay fine."Sonie huffed as she went back to squatting in her original position.

I looked at the box longingly wondering what Hunter had decided to surprise me with. He was all the way in another country yet still looking for ways to surprise me. He truly was awesome.

A couple of minutes later I finally deemed my nails dry enough for me to open the box. I grabbed a pair of scissors from my table and tore through the tape. I removed the bubble wrap from the top to reveal a black box wrapped with a red bow and two more underneath it. I opened the first box to reveal a beautiful Ankara print outfit consisting of a high waisted maxi skirt with a thigh high slit and a cropped corset tube top.

"That's so pretty."Sonie gushed looking at the outfit.

"I know but why would he surprise me with a dress?"I asked her.

"Open the rest, maybe the answer is in the others."She replied.

I took her advise and opened the second box to reveal a pair of nude heels. They looked really expensive, definitely something I would love to wear but couldn't afford.

"Sheesh man has taste."Sonie commented admiring the shoes.

The last box had a bottle of my favorite wine in it, a wine glass, ferrero rocher chocolates and a note written "Will you go an date with me?" in beautiful cursive. I smiled when I saw it and Sonie snatched it from my hands to read.

"And she says he doesn't love her. If you don't want him, can I have him?"Sonie asked.

I scowled at her and snatched the note back reading it over and over again my smile growing wider each time.

"I thought you told me he was in Ghana?"Sonie asked me.

"He is or at least is supposed to be."I replied.

"Then how are you guys going to go on a date?"Sonie inquired.

I shrugged at her because I was at a loss too. Just then my phone rang and Hunters handsome face appeared on my screen.

"Bear."I chirped happily picking up immediately.

"Baby girl."He replied with a laugh.

"What's with all the surprises?"I asked taking one of the chocolate pieces into my hand.

"Just answer the question doll. Will you go on a date with me?"He asked me.

"Of course I will, there's nothing to think about."I replied happily.

"Good then be ready by seven for pick up."He answered.

"But how, you're in Ghana?"I asked him.

"Let me worry about all the other details, just focus on looking beautiful for me by seven. See you later baby girl."He demanded and with that he hang up.

I looked at my phone in shock that he had just cut the call without giving me all the details but still enough to know what he was upto.

"So?"Sonie asked looking at me expectantly.

"I need to be ready by seven for our date."I replied.

"Aaahhh!! This is so exciting. Like a scene from a movie."Sonie clapped excitedly.

"I know."I cried happily hugging the note and shoes to my chest.

"Well then looks like we have work to do. We still need to get your hair done. Good thing we planned this today. God knows how you would have looked going for a date like that."Sonie said looking at my hair.

It had served me for a whole month. so I didn't have any complaints about it.

"We still have time. It's only two in the afternoon, let's order some take out. My treat."I offered.

"I'm not saying no to free food. Hunter should surprise you more often. Your mood has changed drastically."Sonie noted looking at me with a smile.

She was right, Hunter's surprise had made my day much better. I ordered us some pizza and we continued with our girls day but all the while I couldn't help but think of the plans Hunter and I had.

Sonie was really good with hair so she did mine into long twists that complimented my face perfectly.
