"Can I try?"I asked surprising myself.

Hunter stopped what he was doing and twirled around to face me.

"You want to smoke cigars?"He echoed sounding shocked.

"Yes with you if that's okay."I replied.

I had no idea where that thought had come from but I realized that I wanted to try new things. I hated cigarettes but cigars were different and much better.

"Sure, okay."Hunter agreed looking confused.

I smiled at him and approached him sitting astride him so we were face to face. Hunter reached for his already lit cigar and handed it to me.

"How do I do this?"I asked holding it with my thumb and fore finger.

"Wrap your lips around the unlit end, take a puff, hold it in your mouth for a few seconds then blow it out. Don't inhale the smoke, just hold it in then blow it out."Hunter instructed.

"Okay."I smiled nervously.

Here's to trying new things, I thought to myself before wrapping my lips around the cigar.

I took a puff just like Hunter had instructed letting the warm scented smoke fill my mouth before blowing it out slowly.

"Perfect."Hunter grinned looking at me proudly.

"I don't feel anything but it tastes like really great coffee."I commented looking at it.

"You'll have to take a few more puffs to get the right feeling. It also pairs really well with an alcoholic drink you enjoy."Hunter advised.

"Okay I'll get my wine."I smiled kissing him softly before getting off his lap.

I came back a minute later with my bottle of wine and sat back on his lap but this time my back was to his front.

"I'm a bad influence on you."Hunter commented when he saw me trying to make shapes with the smoke but failing miserably.

"I know, my mom would be appalled by the girl you have turned me to."I replied with a cheeky grin.

"Speaking of parents, you've met mine. When am I going to meet yours?"Hunter asked making me choke on the smoke.

He patted my back as I coughed. Finally I could breath properly again so I set the cigar down and turned on his lap slightly to see his face.

"Hunter you are not meeting my parents. I haven't even told my mom about you and I tell that woman everything."I replied.

The thought hadn't even crossed my mind.

"You're either ashamed of us or afraid of them and I'm pretty confident you're not ashamed to be dating me so it's the second one."Hunter retorted confidently.

"Cocky much but you're right, I'm scared of my parents especially my dad. He has never been good with the whole issue of me or my sister dating. You are perfect and I might, key word being might introduce you to them one day but we aren't there yet."I assured him.

"Why aren't we there yet? You've met my parents."Hunter reasoned.

"Yes under unplanned circumstances, it wasn't a formal introduction which is what you meeting my parents will be since I have to plan the whole thing. We aren't there yet because we've only been dating for two months."I argued.

"Time is arbitrary so us dating two months has nothing to do with it but I will not rush you. I want to know every side there is to you, including the sacred little girl that is afraid of her parents. I'll meet them when you're ready."Hunter conceded kissing my cheek before picking up the cigar again.

I lay back on his chest, taking a sip of my wine getting lost in thought for a second. Hunter was perfect but I never really allowed myself to think long term about our relationship. Meeting my parents was in the long term package and I didn't think we were quite there yet. He was being really understanding about it which I appreciated.

"Stop thinking about it."Hunter scolded handing me the cigar.

"I won't."I promised him taking a puff.

The cigar was starting to have effect making me feel like I was floating on a cold pool in a hot summer day. It was a relaxing feeling that I embraced fully.

"How long will you be in Ghana for?"I asked Hunter remembering that unwelcome detail.

"A week or two. I leave tomorrow afternoon."Hunter informed me.

"Okay, well I'll definitely miss you. I'll take this chance to go back to my place. Sonie keeps asking me if I'm ever going back."I replied with a smile.

"The nosey neighbor right?"Hunter inquired.

"Yes nosey but awesome, she was my first friend in the city when I moved here after campus."I explained.

"Remind me to buy her a bottle of wine to thank her for taking care of my baby."Hunter whispered tightening his arms around me.

"You didn't know me then, I wasn't your responsibility."I laughed.

"But you are now so hush."Hunter retorted.

I smiled and sighed in defeat knowing there wasn't winning that argument.

"I wish you could come to Ghana with me."Hunter commented.

"Me too, I'd like to travel outside the country but my passport isn't ready yet and I still have to finish the driving classes."I answered.

"Yeah I know but soon I'll be taking you everywhere with me."Hunter declared.

"I can't wait."I smiled liking the idea of traveling with Hunter.

Hanging out with the girls had made me realize that I was missing out on so much by fighting Hunter on everything just because I wasn't used to it or raised that way. It would be hard changing my ways and letting Hunter spoil me without questioning him but I had to learn.

"You know what I've always wanted."I commented randomly taking a swig of my wine.

"What?"Hunter asked me.

"To be wined and dined like in the movies."I sighed picturing the imagine in my head.

"What do you mean? You and I have gone to dinner before and there was definitely wine."Hunter replied.

"Yeah I know but you've never actually taken me out on a date. The only time you took me to a fancy restaurant was on valentines day and you didn't ask, you took me."I argued.

"I think I need more, what exactly do you mean by wine and dine?"Hunter challenged.

"I mean I would like a man to ask me out on an official date. We'd dress up and go to an expensive restaurant where meals are served in courses and they have too much cutlery that I wouldn't know how to use. I'd not want to order anything at first because it's too expensive but he would ask me not to worry about it and just order what I want. Conversation over dinner would be fun and light as we played footsies under the table. I'd gasp at the cheque since it would be too expensive but the man would pay effortlessly nonetheless. We'd leave the restaurant hand in hand after making out in the elevator without caring that there are cameras in there. Then he'd take my hand and lead me out of the elevator like a gentleman and offer me his jacket since I forgot mine. We'd have sex in the car in the underground parking lot turned on from playing footsies and the make out session."I explained playing out the scene like a movie in my head.

"Wow, interesting end there."Hunter chuckled.

"I know, I watch too many movies."I laughed with a shrug.

"You've seriously never been taken to a fancy dinner?"Hunter asked me.

"By you but like I said that doesn't count as a real date. I grew up in the village so no fancy restaurants there and the guys I've dated have always been next to if not broke. But it's fine, it's why they create movies, so we can live out our fantasies through them."I answered sadly.

It was just a fantasy nothing else.

"Well then, now that I know, I might just surprise you."Hunter replied.

"I didn't tell you because I wanted you to do it for me."I whispered.

"I think you did, deep down you knew that if you told me, I would be tempted to make that a reality for you."Hunter said calling me out on my bluff.

He was right. I knew he was the only one who could make my fantasy come true.

"You're right but you can't do it now. I have to be completely surprised."I demanded softly.

"Of course baby, don't worry, when I do it, you'll definitely be surprised and you'll love it."He assured me kissing my temple.

I smiled knowing that actually being honest with Hunter would get me a night I would never forget.
