Finally after a week back and forth with the girls trying to find a day when everyone was free our calendars synced. Mine was already free so I just had to wait for the other four to find the time.

My phone pinged with a text a few minutes after ten and it was the girls letting me know they were downstairs. Mr Nyaga was just winding down the class so I texted them back asking for a few more minutes. They didn't like that but it's not like they could leave without me. They actually could but I had been looking forward to hanging out with them ever since Brian's birthday so I hoped they wouldn't ditch me.

Finally the class ended and we were dismissed. I said goodbye to Aisha who had by now become a good friend before literally skipping out of the class. I hurriedly took the stairs to the ground floor and walked out to find Francis' Cadillac escalade parked out front with Louise behind the wheel.

The back door opened immediately they saw me and I slid in next to June and Evelyn. Yvonne was in the front passenger seat next to Louise.

"Sorry I'm late ladies but in my defense I did say ten thirty."I defended buckling myself in.

"It's okay we're all here now."Yvonne consoled as Louise started the car and pulled away from the curb.

"None of our cars were big enough so I had to borrow this from Francis. His only rule was that we don't eat in the car or scratch it."Louise informed us.

"Boys and their toys."June scoffed and everyone laughed agreeing with her.

"So where are we going first?"I asked hoping they would say a restaurant.

Hunter and I were late waking up and opted for sex instead of actually taking breakfast. It was a good idea then but I was kind of regretting it at the moment.

"Brunch. I wanna get buzzed on mimosa's as early as possible."Evelyn replied.

"The food part will be great but isn't it too early to get drunk?"I challenged.

"No it's not, we're occasional drinkers and this is a worthy occasion for drinking. And besides we won't be together when legal drinking hours apply because of our partners and kids."Yvonne defended.

That was quite the argument that I actually agreed with so I relaxed back in my seat going with the flow.

"Brunch it is."I relented.

The girls cheered and put on some music for us to belt out to as we cruised through traffic.

Louise took us to an upscale restaurant that I wouldn't be caught dead in alone. They couldn't go to the kind of places I was comfortable with so I had to adjust to their environment. While in Rome party like the Romans do. It was hard but I was already beginning to get used to such places after spending so much time with Hunter. We all walked into the restaurant together looking like a couple of young rich beautiful women which would have been completely true except I wasn't rich.

Yvonne seemed to know exactly where she was going as we walked past the main dining area of the restaurant towards the balcony at the back. I was surprised to see that food and drinks were already laid out.

"I called ahead to say we were coming so we wouldn't have to wait for the food to be prepared."Yvonne explained.

"Good thinking because I'm famished. I haven't had anything good to eat all week."June sighed picking up a plate and beginning to stack it.

"Follow June's lead and dig in ladies. All this is for us."Yvonne said picking up a plate herself.

We had scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, fruit bowls, chicken wings, sausages, baked potatoes and of course mimosas which was basically champagne mixed with juice.

I filled my plate, poured myself a mimosa before taking a seat next to Yvonne and June. Louise and Evelyn sat across from us on table.

I'd never had a mimosa before so I took a careful sip first. It was delicious so I drink some more to confirm that it was actually that good.

"Slow down mami, those pack quite a punch. No need ending the day before it has began by making us log your drunk ass all over."Yvonne warned.

I smiled sheepishly and set my glass down deciding to eat first. I could always get drunk later.

"Speaking of getting drunk. You two kissed."Louise exclaimed remembering that little detail.

Yvonne and I looked at each other then burst out laughing.

"Yes they did. How did it feel?"June asked.

They were all looking at us expectantly as if waiting for some big reveal that wasn't actually there.

"It was nice and sweet."Yvonne replied with a shrug.

"Yeah, I mean there was nothing romantic about it but Yvonne is a good kisser so I liked it."I added winking at her.

"You're welcome."Yvonne said with a laugh making me chuckle.

"Well you definitely made Brian's birthday. He even went through the cctv footage of that night to look for a video but there were too many people and it was too dark to make you two out in the crowd."Evelyn explained.

"That sounds like something only Brian can do but I'm glad he didn't find it. We would never be able to live it down."Yvonne said.

She was right. As much as I didn't mind the kiss, I was glad there was no physical evidence of it.

"Nala pass the eggs please."June requested.

I passed her the eggs just as my phone vibrated in my bag. It was only a message and I was going to ignore it but it was followed by two more. I retrieved the phone to see multiple messages from Hunter.

Of course they were from him.

Why did he always have to be so bossy even via text.

"We said no phones today unless it's an emergency or we're taking photos."Louise reminded me.

"I know, I'm sorry. It's just Hunter being Hunter."I apologized.

"What does he want?"Yvonne asked.

"He gave me a card this morning to use today for our activities even if I told him I'm good and can use my own money."I explained.

"What's wrong with using his money?"Evelyn asked.

"I don't know, it just feels wrong."I replied with a shrug.

"Time for some big sister advice. I know I'm only a couple of years older but you're one of us now so I'll give you some."Yvonne declared.

I turned to her giving her my undivided attention.

"It's clear that you weren't raised in money. Not because of how you dress or anything like that but because of how conservative and independent you are. One wouldn't even know by just looking at you but now your life has changed. You're dating one of the richest most eligible bachelor's in Kenya with more money than he knows what do do with. You guys might not be in this forever but you are right now so enjoy the perks that comes with it. If he offers you his money without you asking for it, use it. He didn't give you that card because he thinks you don't have the money. He gave it to you because he cares about you and wants to spoil you. So big sister to small sister, swipe that card without shame because after all you only live once."Yvonne advised.

"I know it's hard, I was the same when Francis and I started dating but once I realized that a man who genuinely cares for you will automatically want to spend money on you, I stopped feeling guilty. Now he doesn't even have to offer because I know it's my right."Louise added.

It was all solid advise and I never would have guessed that Louise didn't grow up in money like everyone else.

"It'll be hard but I will try."I replied.

"Good now let's eat, lots to do today."Yvonne declared.

I put my phone back in my pocket and proceeded to stuff my face with the delicious foods laid out before us.

"Nala congratulations on the new job by the way."June said smiling at me.

"Thank you. I can't wait to start. I went by last week to check out the school and I love it already."I replied.

"You deserve it girl though I don't think I can imagine you being a teacher."Evelyn teased.

"Me either but the money is good and for that I will have to be."I confirmed with a laugh.

"Money, the motivator to everything."Yvonne teased and everyone agreed.

"I just realized that besides Yvonne I don't know what the rest of you do for a living."I asked wanting to know them better.

"You're right I'll start with me. I am an Estate planner which basically means I cater to the rich and famous determining how their riches will be managed and disposed after they pass."June explained.

"I don't think that's as easy as you make it sound."I commented.

"It is not but I get to witness a lot of family drama which makes up for all the stress they put me through."June replied.

"I am head of Human Resources at Safaricom House."Louise said shortly because her career was kind of self explanatory.

"You're so young."I commented knowing most HR departments were controlled by mean old witches.

"It's all about connections in Kenya but I've earned my position."Louise defended.

"I don't doubt that, good for you girl."I complimented toasting my glass to her.

"I'm a prosecutor, it's actually how Brian and I met. He came to court for a case and we hit it off immediately."Evelyn informed us.

"But you're so sweet and innocent."I chided.

"That's just looks babe and it's how I win all my cases. They underestimate me and I end up schooling them and Whelp them how it's done."Yvonne grinned.

Yeah I was definitely in awe of her.

"Looks like we're all winning, here's to being young, sexy and successful."Yvonne toasted holding up her glass.

"Cheers."We all choruses clinking our glasses together.

Getting to know the four powerful women with me showed me just how much women were capable of and how inspiring they could be. At one time or another each of them had been featured in the thirty under thirty most successful women in Kenya. It was a popular show for career women trying to do it all. I'd never aspired to be in the public eye but my newly acquired friends made me jealous enough to wanna work my ass off to be like them. And for that I would aspire to be great in what I did so that one day I could inspire someone too.

"Oh God, I'm so full I could sleep for days like a hibernating bear."June cried rubbing her belly.

"You're not the only one. Where are we going next?"Yvonne asked her.

We had outdone ourselves at brunch eating everything on the table and now everyone was complaining of a full stomach.

"I booked us a session at a beauty salon. I think it will be a good place to relax as we let the food settle."Evelyn replied.

"I like the sound of that, let's go."Louise declared getting up.

"What about the bill?"I asked surprised we were leaving without paying.

"I already settled it love."Yvonne replied with a smile.

"For everyone? We ate so much."I choked out surprised.

"Don't worry, my wallet can handle it, now let's go. I want to get this babies done."She declared looking at her nails.

I felt slightly guilty letting Evelyn pay my bill but after the advice they had given me earlier about learning to be spoilt I had no choice but to accept it. I grabbed my bag and followed them out of the restaurant.

We were on the road five minutes later going to be pampered as Evelyn had declared.

"I have a question for Nala."Louise declared making me look up from my phone.

I had been looking through the photos we had taken at brunch deciding which ones to post as I sent a few to Hunter.

"Ask away."I replied.

"Girl to girl, how bad did you want to punch Veronica and Aaron after finding out what they did?"She asked with a wicked grin.
