CHAPTER 44: Pissed

Habang nasa meeting ako kasama ang mga lider ng mga bayang sakop ng Bree ay nararamdaman ko ang pag-vibrate ng aking smartphone sa suot kong slacks. Hindi ko iyon pinansin dahil sa importanteng pinag-uusapan namin saka ko lang itong chineck ang aking phone noong matapos na ang aming meeting.

Hindi ko na hinintay ang pagbubukas ng secretary ng pintuan. Buniksan ko na ito at nagmamadaling pumasok ng bahay nina Cole. Nadatnan ko doon na umiiyak si Cameron.

"How did he become like that? He used to be a good kid," komento ni Papa.

Hindi ko na sinabi kay Papa ang pagkamatay ng fated mate ni Haize. If he'll know about it, he'll understand Haize why he hated royals and why he declined the crown.

Kinabukasan ay pinuntahan ko ang tracking team ng task force matapos kong ibigay sa kanila ang coordinates ng tracking device sa na nasa chockerband ni Avery.

"Duke is the biggest mafia group in the world, your grace. He has been ruling the other parts of the world where no monarchy was established. Bean Island is one of his properties near the Kingdom of Asturia," sagot ni Ashanti.

Did he mean to say the ruthless Duke? The Mafia boss, the mafia Boss that no royal blood wanted to associate with?

"Why is Jade there?" tanong ko sa kanya.

Umiling ito. Hindi nito alam ang sagot.

"Are we going against that mafia leader?" tanong no Cole sa akin. "If we do, we are like a bunch of idiots trying to hit a rock hard wall if you fight them," sabi pa niya.

"No of course. We will find another way," sagot ko sa kanya. " I can't afford another shark to fight to," sabi ko pa.

I knew Haize is in the Mafia but I didn't know that he is a member of the biggest mafia group in the world.

Bigla na lamang tumunog ang aking smartphone. I fished it out of my pocket and saw an incoming call from an unknown number. Nagdadalawag isip ako kung sasagutin ko ito o hindi. Ngunit nanaig pa rin ang aking kuryosidad kung bakit mayroon na agad na nakakaalam sa aking numbero gayong bago lamang ito.

Sinagot ko ang tawag.

"Duke you bastard! I told you to change Aki's diaper. What the hell are you doing? He's rubbing his ass full of poop on me!" narinig ko sabi ng isang lalaking sa background ng kabilang linya.

"Darling, can't you see? I'm trying to make a call to someone. Do it instead," sagot nung Duke.

"Who are you calling? Your mistress?" pagalit na tanong ng lalaki.

"No darling, it's an important person. Now go and change our son's diaper. I'll cook you your favorite food later," sabi nito sa lalaki.

"Make sure you do it," sabi pa ng lalaki. "Plus feed me ice cream."

"Oh, that's a no-no. Mildred told you to stop eating it, right? Do you want to get Aurius sick inside of you?" tanong nito.

"M'kay. Just be quick,"

Iyon lang ang narinig ko kasabay ng pagsarado ng pintuan.

"Sorry about hearing my wife's rant," sabi ng lalaki sa akin. Kung kanina ay napakalambing ng kanyang boses ay bigla na lamang itong magbago. "Marius, right?" tanong pa nito sa akin.

"Yes it's me," sagot ko sa kanya.

"I'm Duke. I'm not a duke but the name is a Duke," sabi niya. "Curious why I called you?" tanong pa niya.

"Yes and I wonder why? Do you have business with me?" tanong ko sa kanya.

"No I don't but I heard one of my men messes with you," sabi niya. "I personally hate clashing with any royals. Since my wife learned that Haize's aiding a useless duke to get your fated mate, it pisses him off. He's not usually like that but since he's pregnant and changes his mood all the time, he keeps on bugging me about it. So I called you. Right now, they are on Bean Island. You are welcome to raid it. I'm not backing them up. Haize's been a pain in the ass these past few months. I don't know what's the issue between you two but if you want him, go. You have all my permission. I already warned my men," sabi niya sa akin.

"Thank you very much, Duke. I appreciate it," sabi ko sa kanya from the bottom of my heart. Talking about worrying about having another enemy

"You should thank my wife. If it wasn't for him who keeps on bugging me, I might just be gonna shake that matter off," sabi pa niya.

Muli ay nagpapasalamat ako sa kanya. It will be a great help kung hindi siya mangingialam sa amin.

"And also, another group has invaded Aster. I feel like I should tell this you but if you don't care about that country anymore, just pretend you don't hear anything from me. Ciao," sabi pa niya bago pinatay ang tawag.

Ni hindi man lamang niya pinagsalita muli. But still, nagpapasalamat ako. Hindi pa rin pala ako pinabayaan ng Maykapal sa laban kong ito.
