CHAPTER 37: Persuading Sebastian

"What the hell is wrong with you?" inis na tanong ko kay Haize ng muli na naman itong lumitaw sa office ko. "First, you made me and Marius talk when you know we are after each other's neck. And then you attack his mansion when you know Avery is in there?"

"Our circle knew that both of you are friends," kaswal na sagot niya bago nagde-kwatro. "Hindi ba magtataka sila kung bakit hindi na kayo nag-uusap. You need kaswal talking sa harapan nila and then kill each other when no one is around, it's up to you. And also for the attacking, it's just a trial. Will you just shut up and let me do my job? Hindi ba si Avery lang ang gusto mong makuha?"

"Of course! Sino pa ba?"

"Good," sagot niya. "And also you want to be Avery's mate right? The real deal, correct?" tanong niya.

"What kind of question is that? Of course I want," sagot ko na naiinis pa rin. "But what if sa ginawa mong pag-atake ay napuruhan si Avery?"

Nilingon ako ni Haize.

"Do you think that Marius is that dumb? Akala ko ba mag-bestfriend kayo at kilala mo na siya? Sure naisahan mo ng matagal si Marius but do you really know him? Hindi siya ganoon kabobo para pabayaan lang si Avery ng ganun habang na wala siya," sagot niya.

I glare daggers at him na siyang ikinatawa niya.

"Come here," sabi niya maya-maya.

Lumapit ako at saka nakita ko ang maliit na case na nakapatong sa ibabaw ng center table na nasa harapan niya.

"What's that?" tanong ko.

"Something that can kill an Alpha. Say hello to amoura," sagot nito sa akin.

Nangunot ang aking noo.

"Why do you have something so dangerous?" tanong ko sa kanya.

"Hindi ba gusto mong mapasayo si Avery for good at hindi ka na mangangamba sa kanya," sabi niya sa akin bago kinuha ang isang caliber 45 na baril at saka pinalitan ang magazine nito ng amoura. "With just one shot, Marius will ba a goner," sabi pa niya bago iniabot ang baril sa akin.

"Wait, why would I kill him? All I want is Avery and my kid not to kill him," protesta ko sa kanya.

"Are you stupid? Sa tingin mo ba mapapasayo si Avery kung nariyan si Marius? He will never let you have him. Trust me. Alphas are very defensive when it comes to their mate, especially if that mate is their fated mate. Kill Marius and all of Avery will be yours," sagot niya sa akin.

Oo alam ko iyon.

"But Avery will suffer if Marius dies," sabi ko.

"Then bite him again. Ano ka ba? Are you that dumb?" sabi pa niya.

May point si Haize.

"Hey can I ask you something?" tanong ko sa kanya bago tinanggap ang case na kinapapalooban ng baril at amoura.

"What is it?"

"Do you ever have a fated mate?" tanong ko sa kanya.

Tumingin siya sa akin.

"I once had," tipid niyang sagot.

"Once?" curious kong tanong.

"Yeah once and he's dead," sagot niya bago tumayo at inayos ang suot niyang suit. "Anyways I have business to attend to. Keep that gun. Use it when you have the chance to shoot Marius when the time comes. And also congrats on your coronation tonight," sabi niya bago humakbang palapit sa pintuan at tuluyan ng lumabas.

I don't really know what's happening inside Haize's head. If his mate is dead, then he went into that painful phase that all alphas must go through. How did he manage to get it through? Most of the alphas that went into that phase barely survive, some became slaves to their animalistic instinct and become mentally unstable. But one thing is still bugging me, how did he know about me and Marius' feud? And why was he so eager to help me?

As expected, dahil sa hindi pagkaka-unawaan ng mga Sandoval at Saavedra, at ang nangyari sa mansion niya, hindi dumalo si Marius.

"Don't tell me na may kinalaman ka sa nangyari kay Marius," sabi sa akin ni Mama pagkatapos ng coronation ko.

"What? Heck, no. Hindi ako ganun ka-desperado, Ma," sagot ko sa kanya.

Nakita kong napabuntong-hininga si Mama.

"That's good anak. Hindi maaatim ng konsensya ko kung sakaling ikaw ang may pakana doon," sabi pa niya.

"Ugh, tinanggap ko na na hindi talaga para sa akin si Avery," pagsisinungaling ko. "So no, hindi ko magagawa iyon."

Yumakap sa akin ang mama.

"Buti naman, anak. Ayoko ng madagdagan pa ang kasalan mo kay Marius. Alam mo naman ang gaano kalaki ang utang na loob namin sa kanila ng papa mo," sabi pa niya.

"Alam ko naman iyon, Ma," sagot ko sa kanya.

Hindi ako sanay magsinungaling. But for Avery's sake, I'll do everything. Wala ng mawawala sa akin since I am officially the Aster's Duke.

Naalala ko tuloy noong una kong siyang makita.

That was the night when I was so sexually frustrated. I remember I was dumped by an omega who was usually my sexual partner back then when he met his fated pair. That night, I wanted some release at dahil sa wala akong nakitang pwedeng maging kapatid niya ng gabing iyon, nagpasya na lang ako na bumili ng sigarilyo sa isang convenient store na bukas. That was the first time I saw Avery.

Sa unang pagtatama ng aming mga mata ay agad-agad akong nahulog sa kanya although I smell that he is already paired. He's more beautiful than any omega I have met. He's closer to a woman. And that very same moment, I felt my heart skip a bit, something I never experienced back then.

I began to stalk him.

At first, I persuaded him to help me to get closer with his mom. At dahil kitang-kita naman sa mga mata ng bata na sabik ito sa isang ama, madali ko nitong nauto.

Yes, mahirap ligawan si Avery lalo na noong mga unang araw na nagsimula akong magparamdam sa kanya. He was so freaking aloof sa mga alphang kagaya ko. But all of them are rejected. He doesn't want to be in a relationship.

At first I was rejected of course, pero matigas ang aking ulo. I never experienced being rejected whole my life kung kaya na mas lalo akong ginanahan na makuha siya and to pursue him. Hanggang sa dumating ang chance na para sa akin.

That's when I saw him in heat one winter night. I decided to wait for him inside my car and imagine how aroused I was when I saw him in heat and unconsciously spreading his pheromones in the air.

My instinct told me to mate with him and let him carry our child but I tried hard to fight it. If I want to win his heart, I need to be a gentleman kahit sabihing halos matatalo na ang aking willpower to stop myself from mating him right there. I ended up going to this high-end club and rented some prostitutes and had my way with him. But I wasn't satisfied. I want that little beautiful omega to be my partner.

That was the start of him accepting me. I soon find out that Avery's weakness was his son. So I persuaded Cameron to like me. My alpha instinct hated that kid but I have to accept him in order for Avery to like me.

And when I finally ripped what I saw, it was heaven. Sex with Avery during his heat and my rut is heaven. And I want that. I want to experience it again even when I need to get rid of Marius and their son. All I need is my Avery and my child within him

"Oh bat tatawa-tawa ka dyan na parang maniac," sabi sa akin ni Haize na bigla na lamang pumasok sa loob ng bago kong opisina sa House of Saavedra.

"What the hell are you doing here? Who let you in?" gulat na gulat kong tanong sa kanya.

What if makita siya ng mga magulang ko?

"Relax. Your parents didn't recognize me when I met them in the lobby," sagot niya.

Napahinga akong maluwang.

"At least knock before you let yourself come in," sabi ko parin sa kanya.

"Come on, don't be a scaredy cat," sabi pa niya.

"I'm not scared," protesta ko sa kanya. "Kakaupo ko lang bilang Duke at kailangan kong mag-ingat sa mga magulang ko. Don't you get it?" tanong ko pa sa kanya.

"Okay I get you, just calm down," sagot niya, rolling his eyes at me. Chill."

"So what brings you here?" tanong ko sa kanya.

"Oh yes, I came here to let you know that your fated mate is pregnant. My source told me about this a few hours ago. Kako baka gusto mong malaman that's why I'm here and dropped by," sabi niya.

"Huh? Pregnant? He is infecund," sagot ko sa kanya. Don't he dare to joke at me.

"Are you suuurre?" tanong niya sa akin bago nakulumbaba sa aking harapan. "He is about to be three months pregnant and the father is Cole. This means you are interfiled with your own fated mate. You couldn't get him pregnant while Cole did impregnate him. Aren't you the unlucky one?" pag-aasar niya sa akin.

"Shut up, will you?" inis na bulyaw ko sa kanya na ikinatawa niya.

There's no way that I am infertile! He's so damn wrong.
