Chapter 172: What's Next?
As promised, my brothers came back after dinner. I knew I was going to hear it especially from Michael. If I was struggling to do things, I should have said something to someone-that's going to be his argument.
"Hey Sandy, how are you feeling now? Is your headache better?" asked a concerned Michael.
"Yes Michael it is doing better. The medicine they gave me has taken the edge off of it," I answered him truthfully.
"Why didn't you tell us you were struggling? We already knew your wolf was weaker than before due to the mate bond snaps. But you didn't tell us it was getting worse. How come?" demanded Michael in his Alpha voice.
"Michael, you need to calm down. NOW! First of all, when Patrick came in here, she told us that her wolf didn't even tell her how weak she was getting. Second, she is now going to follow everything the doctor tells her to do because even she doesn't want to lose her wolf," explained Davidson who squared off in front of Michael.
"I'm sorry Davidson. I didn't know that. I … I'm just afraid that … is her wolf dying?' asked a very concern Michael to everyone in the room.
"That's what I asked Dr. Waters. She said, 'Not if she can help it.' I don't want Sandy to get any weaker than she already is nor her wolf for that matter. We already knew she was getting weaker. The boys are really good at helping her do things already without her really knowing it," revealed James to my brothers with a sly smirk.
"Like I don't already know it? Really? I do too know it. I allow the boys to help me as much as they want to. I would never begrudge them helping me out. It makes them feel so proud and happy that they've helped me out. Also, the others are starting to help me out in little ways too. I have to cut back on my duties and delegate more responsibilities. That's a must. We are going to have to install a chair lift or something to help me on the stairs-they are getting harder for me to travel up and down," I declared with an exhausted sigh.
"No worries. We will make it happen. What else do you need?" demanded Timothy?
"Just your love and understanding. Oh, I need a new workout regime. Something that I can do that I can do preferably from a chair. My balance has been a bit wonky lately. Please, Tim?" I pleaded to Timothy.
"Sure, I can come up with a new workout routine for you. Something low stress for you. I'll consult with your doctors before I finalize anything. How often can you shift?" wondered Timothy.
"If I'm lucky, I can shift once a week. I can't hold my wolf form for very long though. She can run short distances only. She really has gotten weaker. I don't want to lose her," I sniffled as tears started to trickle down my cheeks. "I still have my ability to sense danger but I cannot give you the numbers like I used to."
"At least you still have that special ability. Most wolves don't even have that. Get some rest little sister, we've got you. We'll help with the kids tonight. Relax with your mates, everything at home is taken care of," declared Michael as he came over to hug and kiss me goodbye.
"I promise to behave and follow all directions. Good night Michael. Love you," I gushed as I released him from the hug.
One by one, all my brothers came in for a hug and a kiss to say goodbye and goodnight. I love my brothers.
Davidson went and picked up our dinner. He thought we needed a special dinner just the three of us tonight. Also, he got the dinner approved by Dr. Waters. We had our special dinner in my hospital room via soft light. Davidson and James tried to make it as romantic as possible in our room, I'll give them points for trying.
I giggled at them because how can you make it romantic when I'm confined in a hospital bed because of cracked ribs and broken arm. They put a white cloth on the tray for the food-the food didn't all fit. Then, we had to hold our drinks while trying to eat our dinner at the same time. James finally gave up and took his meal off of the tray and put my bottle of water on the tray. Then, he started feeding me my meal forgetting all about his meal.
I started to protest when Davidson joined in and helped him feed me stating they should have done this to begin with. My mates, what am I going to do with them? I wish I was able to show them how much I love, adore, and cherish them. But that will have to wait until I am feeling better and we are not in the hospital.
Once dinner was done, we got comfortable enough for sleep. That is after another bed was delivered. We finally was able to go to sleep. In the morning, I was released to go home since my migraine had subsided. Dr. Waters wanted to see me in a couple of days for a follow-up and to see how my new diet was going. Yay me.
My brothers had to return to their packs, but not before I was properly chastised and loved by them. I promised to behave and follow all instructions given to me. Great googly woogly people. Just go already. I promised I would do better. If it wasn't bad yet, it was about to be even worse. I had both Dad's and Mom's saying that they would be there to help me each and every day with the kids. Just shoot me now. Did I mention that I hated to be coddled and smothered? I guess I'm going to have to suck it up, huh? Here goes nothing.
