Chapter 166: Luna Sandra
Davidson wasted no time getting Sandra to the pack hospital. Dr. Waters immediately put Sandra into a room to start assessing her condition. Since they were in Rock Canyon's territory, Davidson took her to their pack hospital. After Sandra collapsed, Michael didn't think twice, he contacted Dr. Marsh and told her to meet them at the Rock Canyon Pack Hospital and why.
Dr. Waters wanted to know what happened.
"After the pack was dismissed, we went to handle the ones who didn't want Sandy as a Luna. Long story short, she started today with a headache. It progressively got worse. It became a migraine before the pack meeting started. Greyson begged her to stay home and rest, but she said she needed to be there. At the end of handling the others, she just collapsed," Davidson stated as he continued to hold my hand.
" I see. So, her medicine didn't work this morning and she refused to stay home. Sounds just like Luna Sandra; SHE always puts others before her," sighs Dr. Waters as she continues her examination of Sandra.
"Dr. Marsh is on her way. She should be here at any moment as should Dr. Stine," announced Davidson to everyone in the room.
"Where's my Mommy? Why can't I see her?" Greyson could be heard yelling from the hallway.
"They're checking your Mommy out right now. When they are done, then you can go in and see her. You just have to be patient Greyson," Michael tried to explain to him. Tried being the keyword. Greyson is not a very patient child. We all know this.
"Dr. Marsh, thank you for coming so quickly. Luna Sandra is in the second room on the right. Dr. Waters is with her as are her mates, Alphas Davidson and James," explained Michael. "Come on Greyson and Owen, we need to go wait in the waiting room until they tell us we can go in."
Greyson and Owen begrudgingly went with Michael to the waiting room. They just knew if they were allowed to go into the room with their Mommy, they would be able to heal her.
Dr. Stine showed up and went into the room with Dr. Marsh and Dr. Waters. Patrick went into the room with them after ten minutes of waiting and then exited five minutes later.
'Why did you go into the examination room with them,' demanded Timothy to Patrick in the family link.
'I needed to let them know about Sandy's wolf. Duh,' replied Patrick to Timothy.
'What about Sandy's wolf? Is she alright?' demanded Avery.
'No, she's not. Sandy's wolf is tired and had enough bullshit. She's retreated to get away from the mistreatment. Her wolf says this is the only way Sandy will rest so she's forcing Sandy to rest,' explained Patrick.
'Did she say how long she was going to be gone for' asked Michael.
'No, she didn't. I hope she doesn't stay away for too long," sighed Patrick as he contemplated what could happen to his sister.
The Doctors were in Sandy's room for what seemed like forever according to the boys. It was only forty-five minutes in reality. But you're talking about seven-year-olds. Everyone was starting to get anxious when Davidson told them they could come in. Without a moment's hesitation, everyone got up and walked into the room.
What awaited them was an unconscious and a very pale-looking Sandra lying in the bed hooked up to hospital machines to measure her heart rate, blood pressure, etc. and IV, etc. Davidson and James were on either side of her holding her hand.
"Doctors, what can you tell us about our sister?" demanded Michael.
"Alpha Michael, I think Alpha Patrick has already told you that Luna Sandra's wolf has retreated. Her emotional state of the last 24 hours contributed to her severe migraine. Her mates said she didn't sleep too well last night which did not help her headache, she was dehydrated, and the stress of the situation drained her to the point she simply collapsed. We aren't sure when she will wake up. Her blood work shows that her diet isn't too off-kilter, but we need to change it. She is anemic which is rare for a werewolf. Patrick, we hate to ask but are you up for donating some blood for your twin?" inquired Dr. Marsh after she explained everything to us.
"Absolutely. I would do anything for her. What do you want me to do?" asked Patrick.
"Are any of us a match to give her some blood as well?" Timothy questioned as well. "I want to be able to help my sister as well if I can," he clarified to everyone in the room.
"I can look in your medical records to double-check. Just give us a few minutes to check, okay?" replied Dr. Waters to Timothy.
"Yeah, okay. Thank you, Dr. Waters. We just want our sister to get better," explained Timothy.
"I understand Beta Timothy. We all want Luna Sandra to be well and to get better," Dr. Waters stated as she excused herself for a few minutes.
Everyone made a semi-circle around the bed and just watched Sandra in the bed. No one spoke out loud or in the family link. Everyone was lost in their own thoughts. Greyson and Owen put their hands on Sandra's head and hand. Then, Davidson and James put their hands on top of theirs. Everyone just watched them without saying anything. They remained like that for a few minutes, then they removed their hands and each one kissed Sandra's cheek.
"I love you, Mommy," sniffled Greyson.
"I love you, Mommy," Owen softly stated after he kissed Sandra's cheek.
The boys were so concerned about their mother. It was so touching to see them lay hands on her forehead and then kiss her. Moments after they did that, Dr. Waters came back into the room.
"I have brought back with me a way to test all of you so we can see if you all can donate blood for Sandra. If you would all come over here please so I can take a sample from you to take back to the lab to be tested. Thank you," Dr. Waters explained as she laid everything out and waited for them to line up for the blood draw.
After she had a vial of blood from each brother, she went back to the lab to have it tested. Within fifty minutes, she came back and announced that all four of my brothers could donate a pint of blood. Now that it had been determined, she took them into another room so they could each donate a pint of blood.
After they gave blood, they were told to go to our house, get something to eat, and rest. Michael told Davidson and James they would take care of the kids for them.
Greyson and Owen went with them after they were told they would come back the following day.
It turned out that Sandra was unconscious for three days. When she regained consciousness, everyone was relieved and was finally able to get a good night's rest. Greyson wasted no time in crawling up on the bed to give Sandra a big hug and kiss.
"Mommy, I missed you. Do you feel better? When can you come home?" questioned Greyson to his mother.
"Greyson, baby. I just woke up a little while ago. We have to wait to see what the doctors say. I hope I can go home soon. I'm sorry I worried you. I love you very much," I told my son as I caressed his cheek to comfort him.
"I know Mommy. Everyone had to leave but they kept asking about you. Uncle Mike says to let him know as soon as you wake up. He loves you. He worries about you," Greyson relayed in rapid succession without taking a breath.
"Breathe Greyson. It's all right. I'm doing better. Daddy will let Uncle Mike know that I'm awake and that I'm doing better," I tried to soothe my son.
Finally, I was released from the pack hospital to go home to finish recovering much to the delight of my children. They didn't get to spend the afternoon in bed with me to read books and watch movies. Now, they get a chance to do so.
It took a week for Sandra to regain her strength in order for her to go about her normal routine. Now, all Sandra has to do is get stronger and stay that way. I know, it's easier said than done. Challenge accepted.
