Chapter Eighty

Chapter Eighty
Cassandra's POV

The sound of floorboards creaking up the steps of the staircase. I glance back and reach for my mobile then tap it twice to brighten up the screen so I can see what time it is. Nearly half past two. They're an hour past the time I expected them to be home.

I blocked them out the second I saw those words written out on the pregnancy test. If they could feel what I have been feeling these past five hours then they would've been here four hours ago. Wondering why I was feeling guilty, anger, love and nausea. I wasn't sure what to feel until I knew how they felt about it.

My biggest fear was him taking what Silas and Tyler have been training for for the past five years. If this was going to happen then we'd have to prepare for some changes. Hearing the footsteps get closer, I decided to roll over and close my eyes. Pretending to be fast asleep. About sixty seconds later the door to my room opens.

My heart seemed to be set on selling me out for faking, by beating like a hummingbird in a tornado. A tingly caress drifts down my arm and I have to fight not to react to it. Unfortunately my body shivers and I feel goosebumps litter across all the exposed skin he's touching.

I shift unconsciously, wanting to feel more. I knew who it was. I snuggle into the pillow, the blanket sliding off my body as I pretend. A low growl comes from Jordan's chest before his touch completely leaves me. I miss his touch, I want more. But when I hear the bathroom door open then close shortly after. And when the water to the shower turns on, I realize he was just getting into the shower.

A slight shift in his emotions startles me, but when he puts up a block I let it go and actually do try to fall asleep. Once Jordan is finished with his shower I'll be more than halfway there, I could go to sleep fully once he has me pulled into his warm chest. I feel a weight hop onto the bed and a smile curves my lips. My black female cat carefully steps over my legs then eases her way under one of my arms and lays in front of me, her head perched on my pillow just under my chin.

I breathe in Pearl's scent and I note the smell of earth and smoke that clings to her fur. She must've been outside, and ran in when the guys got home. Anytime she catches me asleep or napping, Pearl finds it fun to get herself close to me and snuggle like she's still a little kitten. She loves to find comfort in being near me I guess, same with Silas, and I love that she's picked us as her people.

I must've actually fallen asleep becaus the next time my eyes crack open daylight is easing in through my blinds. It's really early, the sun is barely up and there's a chill in the air. By mid morning the warm sun usually has the house nice and warm. It's the end of August so it's still hot during the day and it's now getting cooler at night. Fall is my favorite time of year.

I rolled as I stretched out my arms and legs, noting I was the only one in the bed. Mid-Stretch my door cracked open, when Jordan saw me awake, he grinded and entered. Two mugs in each hand. I furrowed my brows wondering why he was carrying two extra coffees? "Zach and Levi wanted to eat breakfast with us too, said it's been nearly a week since we've all eaten together."

"That sounds wonderful." I covered my mouth, yawning halfway through my words. Jordan chuckled softly, I rolled over to my opposite side so I could watch him. The scent of coffee filled my room and made my mouth water with how delicious! it smells!

My tired smile grew when Levi came in followed by Zachary who was brushing his shoulder length brown hair back with his fingers. But goddess did my stomach take a dive when the food entered my nostrils. I rolled onto my back and closed my eyes to ease the sudden urge to vomit. This was always the part I hated about being pregnant. I breathed in through my nose and out through my mouth easing that urge back down slowly.

It resurfaced briefly when Zach dove onto the bed beside me causing me to bounce. "Hi" He smiled brightly down at me.

"Hi" I murmured back with a smile of my own.I discreetly placed my hand on my belly under the blanket and began rubbing it with hopes that it will make the nausea go away.

"You look pale, did you eat last night?" Zach moved his face down near mine and placed a kiss on my cheek. "You're not warm so you're good there." he mumbled and trailed his lips down lower to my neck. I turned my head, giving him better access to it.

"Oh but your heart is racing, love. I wonder why that is?" He questioned. I knew why that was, and it wasn't because of him. Though I wish so badly it was, I didn't want to ruin this moment because my body refuses to wake up to the scent of breakfast. It truly does hate me.

I moaned, but not due to where his lips were. And just as he went to place his lips on the sensitive area on my neck I jolted upright and raced for the toilet. I dropped to my knees the second I thought I'd make a mess on the tiles and the porcelain throne below. I didn't even have time to turn the light on or close the door behind me. I was just happy to have made it without running into something or vomiting on the floors.

The guys were in the bedroom speaking low but I could make out bits and pieces of their conversation. "That's the second time that I've seen it myself." Jordan comments, but I couldn't even try to comprehend the topic of what they were speaking about.

When I was finished I reached up and flushed the toilet then got up, slowly closed the toilet lid and sat down on top of it. I glanced over the counter and glared at my toothbrush. I need to brush my teeth but my energy was zapped due to what just happened.

"Cass you alright?" Zachary called out.

I grumbled something to myself before replying. "I'm fine." My voice shook. I hated lying to him about something as simple as a baby. I was scared of how they would react when I told them. Would they hate themselves for letting it happen or hate me for being the one carrying it? My past was really beginning to mess with my present life. George has ruined so many happy moments that I have trouble bringing to the surface still to this day. I just never thought being pregnant would be one of them.

A figure popped up in the doorway and I looked up at him. Levi's large frame stood there staring at me. "Are you really alright, Cassie? Because we were just talking, this isn't the first time you've gotten sick is it?" he asked tenderly.

"No it's not." I sighed. "Let me brush my teeth and I'll come out and fill you in."

Levi just stared at me, not wanting to move. "Are you sick? Like really sick or something?" He worried his bottom lip between his teeth.

I smiled and shook my head. "I'm not sick at all. Go I'll be out there in a moment. Allow me to clean up." With a soft sigh he nodded his head and went back to the table. However he left the door open too, probably so they could keep an eye on me while I brushed my teeth.

I shook my head knowing I had to do it or I'd taste it all day and end up throwing up again if I didn't, so I got up, I then began doing my morning ritual, washing my face, brushing my teeth and using a little more than I normally did of mouthwash just to get the taste of bile free from my taste buds.
