DEATH
"Ouch! What was that for?"
"That's for lying to me and for fainting in the hospital. Come to think of it, what were you doing at the hospital when you said you wanted to use the restroom?' She raised a question.
"I just came to see the doctor, because I was not feeling well and to let him prescribe some drugs for me, that's when I blacked out, sleeping for three days straight, still surprising though." He remarked.
"Thank Goodness, you are ok. I'm just glad, but next time, inform me, I will know what to do…"
"I've heard you, darling. I will do whatever you ask ok." He smiled.
Lupita smiled. "I love you so much, Adolph. You are the best husband in the whole wide world." She said delightedly and took his hand and kissed it.
"I love you more, Lupita and you are the best women in the whole wide world too, I don't ever want to lose you." He touched her cheek, making her blush…
"Hey! Lovebirds, I'm still here.'
They burst into laughter. "I know father, anyway, thanks for coming.'
"You are welcome, my son. Why wouldn't I be here, I'm your father, I love you and it's my responsibility to look after you.'
"I know father, don't talk as if I'm still a child."
"No matter how old you are, you will still be my child." He cackled, Lupita joined in as well and whispered mockingly. "Daddy's boy."
"I'm not a Daddy's boy,' he rolled his eyes at them, but they still kept snickering. "Quit it and I mean it,' he jokingly said and turned to Lupita. "How are the kids? I hope they aren't worried about me much."
Lupita simply smiled and shrugged her shoulders. "They are fine, I don't want them getting worried, so, I didn't tell them anything about you, yet, they are asking of you and I have to lie to them about you, going out to see your friends." She elaborated. She didn't mean to fabricate to her children but it was for the best.
"Don't worry about it,' he saw how worried she felt when she said those words to him. "You did it for their own good and trust me, we've gotten through it and everything is fine now.' He consoled Lupita and gave a bright smile.
"Are you okay?' She questioned again.
Just to be sure.
"Yes, I'm alright as you can see…"
The door opened behind them as they all looked towards the door, revealing the doctor with some files in his arm. "Good morning, everyone,' he greeted and turned towards Adolph. "How are you feeling today, Mr Adolph?"
Adolph smiled. "I feel good, thank you so much for everything."
"Don't worry about it, it's my job and my duty to make sure my patient is alright." He responded and opened his file and looked at the Alpha again, about to say something when Richard stopped him.
"Wait for a second, doctor,' he turned towards Lupita. "Can you excuse us for a moment?"
Lupita got confused and looked at Adolph, who also got confused as well and faced his father. "Why, father? Why do you want her to excuse us? She is not a stranger, she is my wife and I don't hide anything from her."
"I'm not telling her to excuse us, to hide our discussion from her or hide anything. What I'm saying is that she should do that now, by excusing us, whatever we discuss here, it's left for you to tell her or not, Adolph. But for now, she should do that."
"Yet, father she should…"
"No, it's okay.' She broke in. "He says, I should leave, it's not that bad. You are the Alpha and both of you are men, so, I will excuse you guys for the meantime and when you are done, you can tell me whatever you want to tell me and I will be ready to listen to you." She said and when Adolph wanted to stop her, she refused and stepped out of the ward, leaving them alone to converse about whatever it is they wanted to talk about.
Adolph wasn't liking this, which was so important for his father to have told him something like that to his wife. He has never done such a thing before, yet, what was going on?
Richard made sure she was out of sight and instructed the doctor to continue what he was about to say to them.
The doctor cleared his throat, stared at Adolph and began. "Your body is breaking down little by little, every single day, Mr Adolph."
"What are you saying?" He was damn uncertain and wondered what had occurred for them to want to talk to him alone.
"You are dying?"
Adolph became horrified as he jolted out of his bed in a panic, staring at the doctor. "I'm dying.' He said. His heart began beating at a rapid rate as he shook his head. "What kind of disease? What am I diagnosed with, doctor.'
"Quit the pretences." His father roared and glared at him with his red eyes glowing. "Or else, I will make sure you regret the day you became my son?" He angrily shouted as he pointed his finger at him.
"What are you talking about, why are you talking to me this way, what have I done to get this from you." He almost snapped at his father, however, his father should have a good damn reason why he was reacting in this manner to him.
"You think, I wouldn't find out. That you have found your mate."
Adolph went startled. How did his father find out about it?
"Are you wondering how I found out about it, keep wondering. You are dying and yet, taking drugs from this doctor to suppress it. Are you insane?" He shouted.
"Father…"
"Don't call me. You have found your mate and chased him out of the mansion because of your wife. Because of your wife, you chased your mate and the chosen one out of the pack, without informing or telling me about it. What kind of Alpha are you, you know the state of our clan, how we struggle to get strength and refill our powers almost every year and you also know, how we've been looking for the chosen one to purify the clan, letting the moon goddess use him to strengthen our pack and we are lucky that we've never allowed any other packs to take our land. We've been looking for the chosen one for hundreds of years, you found him and hid him from me. You are a disappointment and I hate you for doing this to me and the clan…"
"You hate me,' he said out of disbelief. "Do you have any idea, do you know I have to mate with him or else he wouldn't be able to help the clan?"
"Yes, you have to mate with him to complete…"
"Father, I'm married…" He interrupted.
"Who the fuck cares about that? We are talking about thousands of lives here and you are here talking about one person that you are trying to protect your wife…"
"Of course, I'm trying to protect my wife, I love her and I don't want to leave her, but you are trying to tell me to leave her and for your information, I didn't throw that Omega out of the Mansion. I heard about it the next day, that he ran away,'
"And you are happy about it?"
"Why wouldn't I be happy about it? He should thank his stars that I didn't reject him and put him through so much pain or else, his dead body would have been on the street, if he was an Alpha, it would have been better."
"No, you should be the one thanking your stars that you didn't reject him, you would have joined in and followed him to the land of the dead."
He scoffed. "What!! Me? I would have died,' he inquired unsurely. "Are you serious right now, father?"
"Yes, you would have died.' Adolph turned towards the doctor who answered him in shock. "If you had rejected him, both of you would have died, because you guys were already bonded before you first met him."
"Wh…what? We…We were bonded…bonded before I met him." He stuttered. What the hell were they saying, they were bonded before they met.
"Yes, because you met him, you triggered everything and unconsciously tightened the bond, whatever is affecting you, will be affecting him as well and whatever is affecting him will be affecting you as well."
"You are kidding me right?'
"He's your mate and no fated mate who doesn't want the other has ever survived and chances of survival are 1.99% which is very slim and even if you survived the bond, by breaking it, you will end up dying in a few days. You can't escape fate, Mr Adolph and I can tell what how tortured you've been for the past few weeks, you are lust after him every night, am I correct?"
Adolph went dumbfounded and fell on his knees.
What!!
