The men torching toward her was worse than an infuriated bull. You could see easily his high rank from his clothes and precious swords he was holding in his hands. But as soon as he got close to her, two arrows went through the princess chest from behind, making her collapse as soon as he stretched his hands to catch her.
It seemed they were in love, but none of them had the chance to live it.
Another memory flowed Catalina’s head as the princess and he were trapped at a cave, from a heavy storm during a battlefield that they were supposed to erase each other, but when the general saw she was a woman, he had a change of heart, and they did everything to survive together. They did not speak the same language, nor did they have the same traditions, yet their bond was genuine and respectful.
Even at their last moments they tried hard to protect each other, even though they never freed each other from the opponent’s tradition that shaped their choices in life.
Hard to see it, a touching moment, but that was not all. In that despair what shocked her most was the general’s face. Catalina could not believe her eyes. She recognized him, his soul. It was the male version of Zuleica’s in this lifetime and now she got to see that they had meet more then once in the past. First, she was her male cat in the past life, and before that the platonic love as a general of the enemy army.
\-“She … I mean…. he… is ..is Zuleica..” Catalina said through her teeth trying to regulate her breathing from this shocking discovery.
\-“You took are connected in other way too but is too soon for you to reveal that.”
As she was about to ask that to the priestess, she found herself away from them, at the same place she was going to take a break from her past lives.
But it did not stop at them. The priestess did not say anything at her and then took her to another lifetime and another one, but Catalina was tired she could not get it anymore. All this energy she used was getting a troll on her and both she and the priestess saw that.
\-“I think you must rest now, child! All this experience is tiring for you. And yet you are showing a strength that usually only chosen people and pure souls possess when they get their blessings.” She said to her in a calm voice as she continued:
\-“As you saw, you were fair and just to anyone, never hurting a soul for own benefits and always you tried your best to protect others. And for these good deeds the universe blesses you as she did with others too.”
\-“Is it really? Have I been fair to everyone?” Catalina asked, half surprised as she was not sure about that. She was almost crying from seeing how she had suffered from other people in her past life and yet she found her reincarnations as part of her soul. The soul who did not carry the grief, but the happiest moments mostly.
\-“Now we are going back, you cannot take on anymore. Next time you will see others too.”
Catalina was confused now about who other she meant, but about one thing she was right, she was indeed very tired now.
Just like that she blinked and found herself on the ground at the same temple she entered with Zuleica and the priestess, before she started this spiritual journey.
Now she was not sure how much time had passed, as she opened her eyes, blinking a few times and trying to get her right posture. Waking up from this experience made her muscles ache as she had been running a marathon and it made her thirsty too.
Before her brain could register anything else, she saw a hand giving her a cup of a warm drink toward her.
\-“Here take this. I know you need water first, but this cacao will fix everything in your body. You must get rid of the pain and tiredness first. It was Zuleica who gave her a drink, and she took it.
The drink really worked miracles. It made her energy, and everything regenerated so fast that it made her raise up in her legs.
Her brain was starting to register where she was, what she was through and all, but the time outside, she was not sure even though she saw that it was still night.
\-“What time is it now?” Catalina asked Zuleica, feeling as if she had just lived a decade.
-“Relax, give your body some time to get used to the time. It has been only half an hour.”
Zuleica knew what she went through as she also had done those spiritual journeys in her constellation.
Suddenly, Catalina remembered that she was there in the temple and took the tea before passing out and now she was having cacao.
\-“Men, that tea was so strong! I think I will only drink cacao with you from now on.” And both smiled.
The priestess was still there on the ground with her legs crossed and the fire from before already off, no smoke and no more earthly smells. It was as if nothing happened, life continued just where it was.
\-“Maybe now we can go back if you want.”
\-“Oh Zuleica, I saw it, did you too? We have known each other from before, past lives where we had no control over ourselves. and then you…” Catalina said remembering all she saw as panic started crawling toward her.
\-“Hej, hej, listen to me. Relax, just breath.” She said she tried to calm her. –“Listen to me, it’s best you rest now and tomorrow you will have everything clear. I know what you saw, some of them I have seen too, and I know how you feel now. Trust me. I promise tomorrow morning we can talk more about it.”
She did believe her, her guts were saying so. Nodding her head she agreed to rest, but before that she wanted to face the priestess about everything. She knew that from now on that spiritual opening would help her grow to different levels.
\-“Thank you!” she spoke words from heart to the priestess, who opened her eyes to see her.
There was no need for other words. Only a look and they had spoken volumes.
\-“Rest well child. You need it.” The priestess answered and smiled warmly at her.
Then the girls went out, as the priestess did not follow them. Zuleica knew that they were still celebrating and decided to accompany Catalina to her group to check if the others were tired too. She waved some of the woman that helped prepare the resting rooms for their guests, so they would accompany them.
