Chapter 114

Chapter 114
The space was once again the surrounding environment that Catalina found herself again now. Those million stars that she was seeing for a third time came again in front of her eyes, but this time with the difference that she was not anymore, an unconscious energetic form, but a human again.

She was herself, Catalina.

Right when she was about to wonder all this about, suddenly a figure emerged in front of her.

\-“Child, now you have opened the eyes of your mind.  You have seen your last life, but I must show you one more again, so you can see where you got some of your traits.”

She could not answer. If she was uncertain or lacked strength to process all this together, she could not tell.

And then again, the breath was taken out of her lungs, for a nanosecond and she found herself floating over a middle age town.

Judging from the architecture she recognized around this might had been some Chinese province. Their temples and shaped roofs were shining under the bright soon, making the place fuzz with excitement. It looked like some festival or celebrations were held in the middle of the town.

Apparently, she was able to understand their language as she stepped down now to walk in the streets like all the others, a phantom who could not mess with their flowing life.

Just as she was about to continue at the end of the road that everyone was excited to run too, she saw a familiar person. The priestess too. Untouched by the surrounding movements. For a moment all went through her in slow motion, as if their phantom was insignificant.

At that moment Catalina regained her posture, she became aware now that all the people that ran were no longer around them. The stores were close, the Chinese announcement still hanged loose as the wind was blowing them.

Her curiosity took the best of her and suddenly she found the strength to question the priestess who was still in front of her, while she came closer:

\-“Where is everyone going? What is happening?”

The priestess now had changed; she was not longer the young woman she saw in her first form. Rather she was now the priestess she had known for all along.

\-“An announcement was made a week ago. The emperor has decided to create a tournament for crown princess. The one that show great skills in dual fighting will have the princess hand in marriage.”

\-“Why are we here?” Catalina asked now, not sure how this was related to her, but the priestess just smiled at her and answered instead:

\-“Let us join with them too and see who will win. I think it will be very interesting to follow it from closer.”

The crowd started to become more cheerful as they were getting closer there.

They walked together side to side, undisturbed by the other people around as no one could see them walking in the same place as they were too.

The sounds started to get louder, indicating a strong fight ahead of them. The sounds of swords were heard as they were two bolting lights crashing together.

Even Catlina could feel the passion of dueling, the thrive of warriors to show off their fighting skills. Now she was in the front line witnessing everything firsthand, but she was surprised. She thought that in there she would see different men fighting each other, but instead a proud and strong woman standing in the middle surrounded by other fighters, each of them with their weapon of choice.

The woman was fierce, string toward them with no remorse, ready to take down any of the opponents who dared to face her. She was well-built, her muscles showing a training history in her and Catalina was struggling to catch a glimpse of her face. She found herself drowned to her and it was probably the fact that it was a woman against all these male fighters.

In another situation she might have bet all her money on her and she mentally smiled at these thoughts of her. And then for just a second, she saw her face to face just for a glimpse as their eyes met each other.

Unfortunately for the Chinese girl it was a distraction that gained her a punch in the guts, enough to make her balance her weight, unaware of the sudden distraction, making the crowd cheer eager.

No, this can’t be real – Catalina thought to herself, stumbling on her feet, trying to regain herself as a river of memories flowed in her.

\-“Wonderful, isn’t she?” The priestess voice startled her from her thoughts.

\-“Priestess, what is this, what’s the meaning of this?  I thought these people could not see or feel our presence. And yet when our eyes meet for a fraction, I felt … . I felt her. Like …. Like … I…” she did not dare to end her sentence.

\-“Did you not recognize yourself Catalina? That Chinese fighting princess is the incarnation you had before your life with the gypsies.” The priestess explained to her in a calm manor.

Catalina turned her head to see her one more time as she was shocked by what she heard. She felt it that those were true.

The girl was busy fighting as everyone was attacking her directly now and she still held her ground. Her moves, her punches, her sword, all clicked the right moments she spent training.

\-“From this life you got the attitude to fight as equal, even though your father never trusted you to achieve it due to your gender. This is why he had the tournament. To disgrace you in front of everyone as he thought any male could take you down, even after all those training years you had in front of him and in disguise.” -she then continued to explain to Catalina and with each word she said another memory was flowing in her eyes.

\-“What he failed to accept in real, made you the strongest in the dark. You trained hard to win the battles that were ahead of your fate, to escape the same fate as your mother in this realm had. This is why in the current lifetime, you have a balanced life with all the females of your family, and they always will supported support you no matter what.”

After another pause she added:

“There is still something else I want to show you from this life.” And with a sudden move of her hand, they were in a battlefield, seeing the princess who was kidnapped and was fighting to save herself as the army outside the tent was fighting to save her.
And at that moment another general from the enemy army was fighting his warriors heading in her direction, fury burning in his eyes.
