Chapter 25

Chapter 25

Brianna’s Pov

I created a thorough list of duties I had to complete for the wedding while sitting at the kitchen table. My enthusiasm increased with every moment, and I eagerly looked forward to the arrangements for the important day to come. Inhaling deeply, I picked up my handbag and started to work on my list.

I visited "sweet Delights " to book myself a cake for my big day. I have heard a lot about them. They are one of the biggest in town . The person in charge Mrs Jerkins gave me a warm welcome. I also tried some of their freshly baked confectionaries as I couldn't resist it and it tastes really good.

I mentioned that I needed a cake to accommodate at least 200 guests for my wedding. She nodded eagerly and started to showcase different designs and flavors.

After thorough reflection, I finally selected a stunning six-layer cake embellished with detailed piping and beautiful sugar flowers on every layer. The cake would showcase a luscious, smooth icing with hints of chocolate, vanilla, and red velvet. I exited the store feeling joyful, particularly after Mrs. Jenkins confirmed she would bring the cake to the location on the day of the wedding.

The wedding gown was next on my list .I had always look forward to a beautiful gown designed with lace, with an elegant veil and a flowing train. I decided to go to a well-known bridal shop named "Elegant Bridal," because of  its stunning dresses.

As I browsed the racks, I was amazed by the extensive selection of stunning gowns displayed. A salesperson named Emily came up to me to provide help. I expressed my wish for a dress that

After fitting into a mermaid dress with a sweeping train, I truly sensed I had discovered the one.

While I looked into the mirror, I felt the feeling of being a genuine princess. With Emily's help in putting on a beautiful pair of heels, I felt as if I was soaring as I walked outside.

As I went to  check other things  on my list, I went to meet  with the florist, who helped me choose beautiful flowers and centerpieces. The rest of the day progressed and I was happy with it .
I went to the location to confirm the decorations and seating setup, and I also got the DJ's approval to play all my favorite tracks during our conversation.

As the sun started to dip below the horizon, I experienced a blend of tiredness and thrill on my journey home. I looked forward with excitement to the result of all my hard work on the wedding day, having achieved so much in merely one day.

As I stepped into the house, I discovered Logan waiting for me. He sat on the couch, radiating a serene and charming presence. He got up to welcome me with a kiss and asked, "Hello, gorgeous." "How did your day go?"

A grin formed on my face, overflowing with happiness and delight. "It was amazing," I responded. "The gown, the blooms—everything is aligning perfectly, which is how I could accomplish so much."

"I'm excited to know that," Logan replied, his eyes shining with joy. "I'm aware of the significance these details hold for you; you will be a beautiful bride, Brianna."

A warm blush flooded my cheeks, filled with happiness and love. "Thanks, Logan," I remarked. "I would not have achieved any of this without you; you are my companion, my strength, and my all."

Logan grinned, his gaze showing love and admiration. "Always and forever," he proclaimed, "my love for you, Brianna."

"I love you as well, Logan," I said, and we exchanged a gentle kiss.

Upon entering the house, I saw my father, Conners, in the living room with his phone held to his ear. His voice had an urgent and secretive quality, despite his soft manner of speaking. I reduced my speed to prevent disturbing him, yet he abruptly concluded the call and put his phone away when he saw me.

"Hello, darling!" he shouted, putting on a big grin. "Ah!" “How did your day go?”

I raised an eyebrow , I knew something wasn't right with my father but I just can't tell what it was . I just knew something was not right with him.

I tried to keep a relaxed tone when I said, "It was good, Dad." "I was simply busy with wedding arrangements."

As I gazed into my father's eyes, I saw a hint of guilt behind the smile he gave to a woman. He swiftly regained his composure and nodded with enthusiasm.

"Indeed, the wedding is nearing, and I am genuinely excited for you and Logan." "You both will form an amazing pair."

I squinted, taking note of my father's excessively eager and slightly anxious demeanor, which led me to examine him more closely.

"Who were you conversing with, Dad?" I asked, trying to maintain a cheerful tone.

My father's eyes flitted around the room, and he laughed uneasily, "Oh, merely a business partner, nothing important, darling."

I was suspicious of my father because he doesn't discuss business in the sitting room. He doesn't want us to be involved in. His business.

"Is everything alright, Dad?" My worry grew stronger as I remarked, "You appear somewhat distracted."

He moved nearer, putting a comforting hand on my shoulder, his demeanor becoming gentler.

"Brianna, all is well." I assure you, there’s no reason to be concerned; I’m simply managing a bunch of ideas at the moment.”

I tried to push aside my discomfort, at least temporarily, but I could still perceive a hint of truth in his statements.

"Okay, Dad." I conjured a strained smile. "I won't allow it to disturb me."

A look of relief spreading across his face, my father mirrored my smile. "That’s my daughter." He wrapped me in a comforting hug and said, "Now, share more about the wedding arrangements; I’m excited to listen."

As we began to talk about the wedding, the persistent thought that my father was holding back something stayed with me. Still, I decided to concentrate on the wedding and our future, oblivious to the fact that my father’s secret would ultimately arise to face me.
