Chapter 24

Chapter 24

Brianna pov .

I got on the line immediately. What else was new?

"Brianna," I said.

"Yes. What's up?"

"Listen, can I call you back later-"

"I don't want you to call me right now. Tell me what's up, and then I'll let you go."

Faced with the toughness that I knew in my head there was nothing I could do but say, "Okay, but I won't be long. Just something really, really interesting just happened. And I mean really interesting."

The angels sang, and it was wonderful! This felt better than anything else. It's like being a baby and completely lost in wonderment with your first steps. My expectation now soars like a kite flying deep into the clouds. "Hey, guess what? I'm getting married with both of his parents' blessings!" I exclaimed to anyone who cared to listen.

I was breathless. I just couldn't keep this news to myself for long, and it was riding on my throat so that I quickly inhaled from my stomach and grabbed the phone to dial Logan.

Bingo! I heard his voice. "Hey, beautiful," he beamed: warm, reminiscent. "What's up?"

I took a deep breath to gather myself and say, "Logan, you won't believe what just happened," I practically whispered.

"What is it?" Logan inquired, curiosity laden in his voice.

I took one more deep breath only to suddenly outburst, "My dad just gave us his blessing," with a trembly voice in excitement. "He's okay with us getting married."

A little quiet on the other end of the phone, and I was beginning to wonder if Logan had hung up before I heard his sonic reply.

"Brianna, that's amazing news," he said, his voice charged with thrill. "I'm so happy for us. We did it, baby. We're really going to do it."

I laughed. The joy was all in the air. "I know, right?" I said. "Happy much? Cloud nine, baby."

Logan chuckled back. "I can imagine," he said. "I'm feeling pretty great myself. So, what's next? When can we start making wedding plans?"

I smiled and felt a sense of excitement at the prospect. "I was hoping we could start as soon as possible," I said. "I want us to get married as soon as we can “

Logan laughed. "So do I," he said. "Let's do it. Let's make this happen."

I felt happy and gladdened whenever talking to Logan because I knew that we were intended to be together and were finally free to pursue our happiness.

As soon as I finished talking to Logan, I rushed off to Brenda's numbers. This news had to reach her as soon as possible.

Brenda answered on the first ring. "Hey, girl," she said.

"And she said, her voice warm and familiar, 'What's up?'"

I inhaled deeply and started to calm myself.
“Brenda you won't believe what just happened “I whispered

“Oh come on what's that?” Brenda asked her voice bright with curiosity

I took another deep breath, and with a tremendous impulse, I delivered the proclamation: "My dad just gave Logan and me his blessing," I said, my voice trembling with excitement. He said he was okay with us getting married

Brenda screamed on the other end of the line “oh my god,  that's the greatest news ever”  she said all bubbling in excitement “I'm so happy for you Brianna you have earned it “

I laughed and felt very joyful and elated. "Thank you, Brenda," I said. "I am so very happy. I feel like I'm on cloud nine."

Brenda chuckled.
“I can imagine”, she said so what's the next step?  when can we start making wedding plans ?”

I smiled feeling a wave of excitement wash over me. “  I was thinking we could start making plans as soon as possible”  I said. “ I want to get married as soon as we can”

Brenda chuckled. “I'm with you on that she said let's do this, let's makes it happen”

Brenda gives  me joy and happiness I knew she will be right beside me when it comes to planning my wedding

As I hung up the phone with Brenda, excitement and joy rushed through me now my father had given us his blessings and I could not wait to start planning a wedding with Logan.

However , as I seat on the couch I could not help sensing something felt off my father had changed his mind to suddenly to be taken at face value.

Pushing that thought aside, I told myself I was just being paranoid my father had always been a bit stubborn but you love me and wanted me to be happy.

My father used to be stubborn but you never stop loving me or wanted me to be unhappy maybe finally understood that Logan was right one for me

But right now, I just sat there thinking of all the times my father had been against Logan and me together. He had always been so sure we were wrong for each other, and one day he suddenly felt otherwise?

I shook my head, trying to clear everything. I was thinking too much, of course, and paranoid; my father loved me and surely wanted me happy.

But doubt still lurked in the back of my mind. What if Father was faking being okay with the wedding? What if he kept a secret plan or two to ruin our happiness?

I brushed it aside, claiming that I was insane. Father would never do that to me.

But I just didn't feel that way. I decided to realize it wasn't important and go ahead with the wedding. I'd discuss it with Logan later to find out what he thought.

Then, I stood and worked over into the kitchen. There I began to compile a list of all the things I needed for the wedding planning has began and I was so excited about our wedding dreams becoming real very soon when Logan and I finally be together

As I sat at the kitchen table making my list I felt a trail in my soul that was guaranteed to lead to wedding bills in the future, finally the dreams of marrying the man of my dreams was closer to becoming a reality.  I couldn't wait.

But even as I felt happy and excited, the doubt lingered in the back of my mind. What if my father was just pretending to be okay with the wedding? What if he was secretly planning something to sabotage our happiness?

I pushed the thought aside, telling myself that I was just being paranoid.Father not only loved me but also wanted me to be happy; he would never do anything to hurt me or Logan.

Taking a deep breath, I focused on my wedding plans. This was supposed to be the happiest day in my life come what may.
