Chapter 57 Camilla ever been raped

Chapter 57 Camilla ever been raped
Mr. Alistair took a deep breath. He hadn't expected his son-in-law to know about this. His family's biggest secret was out, and he was certain it had come from Camilla's own lips.

For a moment, the man stared at the photo on his desk. He then stood up and approached the desk to retrieve the photo.

Danieru, who saw his father-in-law's behavior, was quite surprised. He hadn't expected his father-in-law to simply not answer his question.

"Danieru, what has Camilla told you?" asked Mr. Alistair. He stared at his son-in-law, patiently waiting for an answer.

Danieru swallowed hard. From his father-in-law's demeanor, he could tell this wasn't going to be good. He was starting to feel nervous, and he was starting to feel very uncomfortable with his own curiosity.

"A-ah... t-that, I... I..." Danieru sighed, still unsure of his course of action. It felt very uncomfortable to want something related to the immediate family.

Well... even though he was Alistair's son-in-law, a secret like this didn't seem right for him to know. But... hadn't Camilla done the same to him? She acted as she pleased without listening to his wishes.

"You look nervous," Mr. Alistair said. He quickly approached his son-in-law again, sat opposite him, and placed the photo in his hand on the table.

Danieru looked up, and unfortunately, he saw his father-in-law smile. It was sincere and very warm. Well... he was quite impressed by the way his father-in-law shattered the gloomy atmosphere that had enveloped them.

"What did Camilla tell you?" Mr. Alistair asked matter-of-factly. He hoped his son-in-law would speak soon; dredging up old wounds like this was honestly very painful.

"Has Camilla ever been raped?"

Mr. Alistair froze; his son-in-law's question had been predictable. The man took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly.

"Father... was my question too much?" Danieru asked.

Mr. Alistair, hearing the question, shook his head. "Do you love my daughter?"

Danieru, stunned by the question, was stunned. Love? Yes... he loved Camilla. But was that feeling truly love? Or was he just curious and feeling a casual affection because they were together so often?

"Danieru, why are you silent?" Mr. Alistair asked again. The man looked very serious as he asked his son-in-law, hoping that Danieru truly loved his daughter.

Danieru, hearing his father-in-law's words, still couldn't answer. He wasn't sure if it was true love or just a feeling that would quickly fade when he got bored. He remembered Rachel. He had loved her so much before, and he feared that his feelings for Camilla were just a distraction because Rachel was no longer his.

"Answer my question, and I will answer everything you want." Mr. Alistair smiled, seeing Danieru's pale face. He couldn't just reveal everything, especially to a man who didn't yet love his little daughter. It was understandable that he was worried, because no one knew anything about Camilla.

For many, his daughter was the best. People knew Camilla had been kidnapped, but they only knew she was kidnapped and then released for a ransom.

“Are you still unsure of your feelings?” Mr. Alistair asked again.

Danieru clenched his fists, feeling cold sweat break out on his body. He was nervous, doubting himself.

“I know your marriage is recent, and even the beginning of this marriage was due to debt. If you had met naturally, had a good day, and had a loving relationship with Camilla beforehand, I wouldn’t be asking questions like this.” Mr. Alistair stood up, staring at the photo of Camilla and two of her friends still on the table.

“Father,” Danieru said.

“Hmm?”

“I love Camilla.” Danieru held his breath for a few seconds, hoping this wouldn’t be a problem.

“Really?” asked Mr. Alistair.

Once again, Danieru had to swallow the truth whole; he hadn't yet made everything clear.

“Y-yes... I-I love her,” Danieru replied again.

“How do you love my daughter? What gives rise to those feelings?” the man asked, his voice trembling slightly.

Danieru remained silent.

"If you truly loved her, there would be no hesitation in your answer, no hesitation in your eyes. You're wavering over your feelings, and I... as a father, I can't give you the answer you want. Danieru, be sure of your feelings, and once you know, pull Camilla out of that darkness."

Mr. Alistair immediately walked toward the door, leaving Danieru sitting, fixated on the photo on the table. Those smiles, those faces felt so familiar to him.

"Please go. Come and ask when you've made up your mind. Danieru, don't feel sorry for my daughter. Camilla doesn't need those feelings right now," Mr. Alistair said, opening the door to his office wide. He looked at Danieru and smiled when the man turned his gaze toward him.

"Sorry, I can't just tell you everything."

Danieru, hearing his father-in-law's answer, simply nodded. He then stood and quickly walked toward the exit. Without a word of goodbye, he hurried off, his thoughts focused solely on Camilla.

“See you,” said Mr. Alistair as he closed the door to his office.

Danieru didn't stop walking, he immediately decided to go home and make sure his heart was in order.

...

Camilla was now sitting in the back garden of the mansion, poring over some files and studying them carefully. Her mind was now full of evil plans; she would exploit a gap in her husband's family's parent company.

Their approach was indeed wrong, and Camilla didn't care that her plans could harm some parties. This was the world, where the strong prevailed. She wasn't a naive woman who believed that good could overcome evil. All Camilla knew was one thing... victory... and nothing else.

“You look very serious,” someone said from behind.

Camilla turned her head, meeting the gaze of someone she never expected to see. Hold on... she had to control her emotions. If she let out harsh words, their job would become even more difficult.

"Where's your husband?" the man asked again.

Camilla took a breath, then smiled kindly. "Father-in-law, Danieru has been meeting his friend for a few hours."

Mr. Malaike, hearing his son-in-law's answer, simply nodded. He then stared at Camilla intently.

"Do you have a message for him?" Camilla asked.

"Tell your husband. Don't play with fire. If he continues, the fire will burn itself."

"Playing with fire?" Camilla stood up, looked at her husband's father, and smiled again.

"Yes, I know he has a plan I absolutely don't want."

"Plan?" Camilla echoed, folding her arms across her chest and exhaling slowly.

"Derin," said Mr. Malaike.

"Oh, you're blaming him. Are you guys watching us like stalkers?" Camilla asked.

Mr. Malaike, hearing Camilla's words, immediately turned around. "Yes, I'm watching over you. Think of it as a father's love."

“Yes, you can feel free to do so.” Camilla grinned. Even though he felt nervous, the feeling of hatred towards Danieru had also become his flesh and blood at this time. He hated his father-in-law's attitude, and he would not remain silent any longer.
