Chapter 55 No... I just remembered a few things
Camilla was quite taken aback by the way Danieru vented his frustration on her. She closed her eyes, trying to enjoy it, but she couldn't. The image of the past returned to control her, turning her previously trembling nervous heart into a deep, intense fear.
Camilla restrained herself; this time she had to fight the fear and pain that continued to stab her left chest with such cruelty. She returned his kiss roughly, closing her eyes tightly and embracing him.
It felt so bland, this kiss truly torturous for Camilla.
Danieru, aware of Camilla's strange behavior, immediately broke their lips. He stared intently at Camilla, and at that moment, he realized her body was trembling. Although it wasn't very noticeable, he saw it clearly.
"You lose," Camilla said with a smile. She immediately sat down on the table, staring at Danieru, who was still stunned.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Camilla brought her face closer to Danieru's, not expecting him to be lost in thought.
Meanwhile, Danieru didn't notice anything. He was immediately startled when Camilla touched his hand and gripped it tightly.
"What are you looking at?" Camilla asked, pulling her face away from Danieru.
"N-" Danieru swallowed hard, holding back his own words.
"What?" Camilla then got down from the table and sat on the chair, still staring at Danieru, who looked a little confused. Honestly... Camilla also felt very uncomfortable. But she tried to hold on and swallow her fear so that Danieru wouldn't become more curious about her.
"No... I just remembered a few things," Danieru replied.
Camilla simply nodded her head, turning her face toward the stove Danieru had been using to cook.
"When are you serving food?" Camilla asked.
Danieru immediately realized the task he had been putting off. The man then looked around; the floor was completely dirty with Coca-Cola, and his clothes were also soaked. He sighed and looked back at Camilla.
“You can wait in the dining room,” Danieru said. He quickly took off his shirt, leaving his athletic body completely exposed to Camilla.
Camilla, not wanting to argue too much, immediately stood up and left the kitchen and headed for the dining room. The woman sat down, taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly. Camilla did this several times, and as she did so, she slowly calmed down.
The woman stared toward the kitchen. What should she do now? She realized the comfort she was starting to feel, and at the same time, the bad past was haunting her.
“Are you daydreaming?” Danieru stepped toward Camilla. He was carrying a tray, on which were two plates of omelettes and two glasses of orange juice. Hopefully, Camilla liked the food tonight; he didn't expect any further comments.
Camilla, seeing Danieru heading her way, simply smiled and waited for him to hand her the food and drink.
It wasn't long before Danieru arrived at the dining table. The man immediately gave Camilla her portion and sat down opposite her.
"Enjoy your meal," Danieru said.
Camilla smiled slightly, feeling strange about Danieru's now-unusual behavior. She didn't know what he was thinking, but she hoped it wasn't anything negative.
"So, what's the plan?" Danieru asked suddenly.
Camilla, who was just about to eat her meal, gave him an irritated look. "Don't talk about work at the dinner table, and don't talk until after dinner. I'm warning you, Danieru."
Danieru rolled his eyes in annoyance. He hadn't expected Camilla to be this stiff at the dinner table. Indeed, he'd never seen her speak at a meal like this before. He was quite impressed, but he realized she was acting this way because she hadn't yet treated him well and wasn't used to him.
Camilla, watching Danieru think, remained silent. The woman immediately began eating; she was truly hungry and unconcerned with the food in front of her.
The woman remained completely silent, simply eating and uninterested in the things around her.
After Camilla finished her meal, she glanced at Danieru, who still hadn't touched his food. The woman immediately stood up, sat beside him, and snatched his food. Using a spoon, she quickly fed him.
Danieru felt strange, and he stared at Camilla.
"Open your mouth, or this will be on your face."
Danieru immediately opened his mouth, inspected Camilla's mouthful, and swallowed it quickly. The taste was completely different; the simple food tasted even more delicious as Camilla fed it to him.
...
After a tense meal, Danieru sat reading a book and waiting for Camilla to finish the plan brewing in her beautiful mind. Danieru watched Camilla intently, smiling slightly when he saw her so serious.
Camilla's beautiful face looked even more enchanting, her lips so tempting, it reminded him of their kiss in the kitchen.
Danieru looked away, realizing he was blushing. Damn... he was completely falling for Camilla, and he didn't know how to convince her of his feelings.
"What's wrong? You were watching me, weren't you?"
Danieru looked at Camilla, closed his book, and walked over to her, who was sitting behind her desk. He exhaled slowly, staring at Camilla, who still hadn't raised her head and remained focused on her work.
"If you have any questions, just say it," Camilla said. The woman lifted her head and met Danieru's gaze.
Camilla's face was impassive, unfazed as Danieru continued to focus her gaze. The beautiful woman remained silent, still waiting for Danieru to say a few words.
Danieru remained silent, his eyes glancing at Camilla's slightly moist lips.
"Don't come any closer, I'm working." Camilla lowered her head again, uninterested in engaging in a staring contest with her husband.
"Why do you seem so concerned about me?" Danieru asked.
Camilla, who had been typing word after word, fell silent, her hands, which had been dancing rapidly across the keyboard, also halted. She didn't know why, but her heart told her she had to help and care for Danieru.
"We don't need to go this far, do we?" Danieru asked again.
“If you don’t want to do it, you can sit down and be quiet.” Camilla refocused, not wanting to argue with Danieru any further. She was doing what her heart told her to do, and if she wanted to stop now, it would be pointless.
Cancri had used them as tools, and they, or perhaps only she, had other goals. Now that both parties were benefiting, there was no reason to back down.
She had come this far, and there was no way she would let go of what she had so nearly achieved. She didn’t expect Danieru to be so weak in this matter.
“You’re just a contractual wife and my friend, but why would you do something like this?” Danieru asked.
Camilla immediately stood up and glared at Danieru.
“Are you starting to love me?” Danieru spoke again, and that irritated Camilla.
Plak ...
Camilla didn't hesitate to slap Danieru across the face, glaring at him sharply. After all her sacrifices, he so easily spouted such nonsense. And worse, why did Danieru always involve love in every situation?
Can't he think? Or were the rumors that Danieru was an intelligent man just rumors?
Danieru, who had just been slapped by Camilla, immediately stroked his cheek. He swallowed hard, then looked at Camilla.
"Don't keep asking why I'm helping you. Don't keep linking this to the love you've been glorifying for who knows how long. If you don't want to walk with me, then I'll do it alone, without you forever." Camilla raised an eyebrow; she wouldn't back down. If Danieru didn't want his company's name used, then she would do this using her family's company.
Danieru smiled.
Camilla looked at him, feeling strange, but quickly dismissed the thought. She quickly showed him her work and left the room.
Danieru stared at the screen, which now displayed thousands of words, with clear concepts and equally sound reasoning. He was amazed, not expecting Camilla to think of something like this.
Perhaps it was true... that Camilla was the perfect complement to his life. Regret struck him; he had offended the person who had sincerely helped him.
"What a smart woman. Ah... damn, why do I want her more and more?" Danieru muttered under his breath. He took a deep breath and went back to studying Camilla's plan. It was incredibly comprehensive, and it was indeed a surprise to him.
While Danieru continued reading, Camilla was now in her room. She lay down and closed her eyes. She was contemplating why and what was going on. It hurt terribly when she slapped Danieru's cheek. But... she had to do it to make him realize and not make a hasty decision.
