Chapter 16 Kitty, I'm sorry
While Danieru laughed with satisfaction at his actions, he didn't think about Camilla, who had been thrown into the water. He continued to wait for Camilla to swim to the surface. He stopped laughing and stared intently at the pool.
It felt quite strange, he had waited for several minutes but still hadn't seen Camilla emerge. Anxiety began to haunt him, and he felt guilty towards Camilla.
The man thoughtlessly took off his shirt and threw it towards the door. Danieru jumped into the pool. Camilla... that was all he could think about at the moment.
Byurrrr...
The sound was loud, and Danieru was now diving into the pool, cursing his own stupidity. The pool was very deep, about fifteen meters, and the water was deliberately not very clear. The bottom was invisible, and the lower he went, the colder it got.
Damn... Danieru began to curse himself. Why had he forgotten to turn on the light to illuminate the pool? How could he have been so stupid in such a critical situation? There was no way he could return to the surface; it would have taken time, and the possibility of Camilla dying would have increased.
Meanwhile... Camilla, drowning, couldn't do anything, she was petrified and remembering something horrifying. She couldn't even close her eyes; her body felt paralyzed.
Shadows of the past danced in her mind, strange voices began to echo, memory after memory began to shackle Camilla's hands and feet.
'Don't... please, stop!'
The voice echoed in Camilla's mind, the image of her being chained to a cross-shaped pole so vivid. The dimly lit place, the foul odor, the terrifying men with their faces covered by masks.
Her hands were bound, and her legs were also bound. She couldn't move, only to mumble her refusal and see other horrific things.
‘Inject again! This is so much fun! We're getting free guinea pigs.’
‘No!’
‘Don't stop! We have to see how powerful this drug is.’
‘Please! Don't.’
Camilla's pupils dilated even further, still feeling the pain of the needles filled with a strange liquid entering her body. It stung so much, especially when the liquid reacted to her.
The horrific memories, the evil laughter of those people, all felt so real to Camilla. She didn't know how she survived, but after escaping her abduction, she became a wild woman, thirsting for love.
Camilla slowly closed her eyes, her body continuing to fall until it hit the bottom of the pool. She sank into wounds and dark memories.
‘Don't, I beg you... sob... don't!'
Camilla felt her heartbeat begin to weaken, and with her last ounce of strength, she opened her eyes.
Her breath became increasingly labored, and her throat felt like it was being strangled. She saw death approaching. She tried to move, but couldn't.
The pool water grew colder, and her bones felt frozen. She was in agony, her stomach now filled with water. When would this suffering end?
‘Camilla ... Camilla!’
Camilla recognized the voice; it belonged to the father who loved her so much. Camilla felt her soul begin to rebel, but her determination to live was stronger and stronger.
'Hang in there, Camilla. Dad, please don't leave Dad.'
‘Dad… please… help me!’
As Camilla felt despair, she slowly closed her eyes again. The last thing she saw was someone swimming toward her.
'Dad,'
Camilla thought to herself. After that, Camilla fell unconscious. She tightly closed her eyes, even losing her breath, and her heartbeat slowly weakened.
Danieru, who had reached the bottom of the pool, immediately reached for Camilla. He grabbed her hand and swam quickly to the surface. It felt so strange, Camilla sinking like a stone. Had she had some trauma?
This time, he was truly guilty. He might have killed the crazy woman who had been entertaining him for so long.
‘STUPID! YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SWIM!’ Danieru cursed Camilla's stupidity for not moving in the water. But he felt even more stupid for doing such a despicable thing.
After a while, Danieru finally got out of the water. He immediately carried Camilla out of the pool and laid her body on the slippery floor.
Danieru grew increasingly panicked; Camilla was no longer breathing. He immediately performed first aid. He pressed on Camilla's stomach to release the water, but he grew increasingly frustrated when she didn't react.
Danieru decided to do something else. He immediately performed CPR on Camilla. He paused occasionally to pump her chest.
"Don't scare me! Please, don't die!" Danieru continued performing first aid, desperately trying to revive Camilla.
"Camilla!" he insisted.
He began to feel desperate, but he kept trying. Danieru performed CPR again, his eyes closed, and he prayed for her to come back to life.
The man's body trembled, filled with fear and regret. This time, he desperately wanted Camilla back and to annoy him.
He loved it when Camilla laughed, he loved it when she was with him. This wasn't love, but the comfort of being with a friend. He began to feel like his life would be lonely again if Camilla didn't wake up.
"Cough... cough... cough..."
Finally, Camilla coughed, spitting out water. Her stomach felt bloated, and her breath was shallow, and her heartbeat was very weak.
Danieru, now at a juncture, felt incredibly grateful. The man had cried unconsciously; he had almost lost another friend, and it brought a small sense of relief that Camilla had survived.
"Camilla, can you hear me?" Danieru asked. The man was still gently pumping Camilla's stomach.
"Cough..."
Camilla coughed again, water coming out of her mouth. Camilla's eyes slowly opened, she looked at Danieru, and then closed them again.
Danieru resumed CPR for Camilla, and she was calmer now. It hadn't been in vain to learn some first aid, and he'd pulled Camilla out of the valley of death.
Deeming himself satisfied, Danieru lay beside Camilla. He took a deep breath and glanced at her, her eyes closed. His smile widened as she opened them again, looking at him with a very gentle gaze.
"Kitty, I'm sorry."
Camilla didn't answer; she felt exhausted. She tried to get up, but her body felt very weak and stiff.
"Don't move too much, I'll take you to your room." Danieru quickly got up and stripped off Camilla's clothes and whatever other clothing remained on her body.
Danieru, having finished his task of undressing, felt relieved. He reached for Camilla's body and exited the bathroom, which was connected to their private pool.
"I'm sorry, I almost killed you." Danieru once again begged Camilla for forgiveness. Once in the room, he immediately laid her naked body on the sofa.
The man hurried back to look for a towel. After finding one, he dried Camilla's wet body.
"After this, I'll teach you to swim. I don't want you to die a stupid death while I'm gone," Danieru said.
Camilla, listening to all of Danieru's ramblings, didn't bother to bother. She remained silent, lacking the energy to respond to every word and action.
"Have you suddenly gone mute? Hey... please say something."
Finding Danieru so annoying, Camilla glared at him.
"Will you shut up? I'm so tired, damn it!" Camilla said in a very low voice.
Danieru, hearing this, held back a smile. The woman was fine, and he didn't need to worry anymore.
