Chapter X-4

He took a few steps away from me, running a hand through his hair before he turned back towards me, with once again that smirkish smile of his. "Why are you being like this?" I stared at him for a few seconds.. I was told I could be stubborn, but I just needed him to let me go through with it. I didn't need his help. "I'm not being like anything, I just,-" I started off, not even realizing that I was still calmly sitting on the ground, and looking up at him. It was as if I had forgotten about having to stand up in those few seconds.. "I don't want your help when I can do it on my own." I finished up, watching how he scanned my face for another few seconds before breaking that silence again. "Fine." Putting his hands on the side of his hips, he took a step towards the dead guy, then on the other, figuring out the way. "Then, the only good thing in this whole situation is that with you falling down this ravine, you accidentally found the way towards the lake." Right. I mentally shook my head. I was starting to pay way too much attention to his actions. And features. And how his sharp jaw would clench every now and then.. How his eyes moved from my eyes to my lips, then back again whenever he looked at me.. And then how his large muscly arms would flex whenever he crossed them over his chest.. I cleared my throat slightly. I must've hit my head pretty hard. "See, I told you I wasn't that useless." I mumbled, looking on the side and trying to jerk myself up again. "Lets go." He said, and without even bothering to even wait up for me, he started walking towards the direction he thought was right, passing by me and not turning back. The little rocks and leaves from the ground poked my skin from how much of my weight I was putting on my hand, but I managed to help myself out with my other leg and somewhat successfully, I stood up.. I jumped slightly on my other leg, keeping the one that was still bleeding a few inches above the ground. I had to keep my balance, so my arms waved back and forward a few times before I accidentally pit my wight on my injured leg. I was right. It still burned and it seemed to be stretching, throbbing, going through my whole leg. "Uh, Christian?" I found myself say, unplanned and surprising for me too as my voice came out slightly raspy. He didn't stop yet, but he wasn't walking as fast either. "I need to hold on to you." I added, feeling something turn in my stomach. Damn my stubbornness. I could've let him help me when he offered and I would have to beg him now. He stopped, somewhere close to twenty meters away from me before turning around. "I thought you didn't need my help.." That familiar frown on his face made his eyes always look more demanding, and even when we were talking randomly, like in that moment, it still seemed like he was dominating over you and winning something you had no clue about." I gulped, slightly swaying on the side before I jumped. I just wanted to keep my balance at least while he looked. "I don't." I said plainly, but before he could turn back around, I continued. "Just the first step." I could see him hiding his smirk as he scanned me up and down, making sure to tilt his head slightly and frown as he shoved his hands in his pockets. "Really? You seem to be doing a pretty good job on your own." "Oh, come on, Christian!" I knew I said no to him, but hey, if he just believed my instincts in the first place, non of this wouldn't have even happened. "What do you want me to say? I got shot. It hurts!" I knew that he would either make a comment about me being spoiled and a brat, like he already did multiple times, or he would just continued playing. The thing was, I healed slower than him, and it wasn't like I was asking too much. Just a hand. He took a few slow steps towards me. "You could be a good little werewolf, and ask nicely." Ah. So he chose the playing part. If I could even walk a little, I would've sent him to hell a long time ago. However.. I puffed, looking on the side as I crossed my arms. "Fine. Please?" I said quietly, feeling how my muscles on my other leg tightened while I tried keeping myself in place. "Please what?" "Help me." It wasn't really that hard for me to say it. I did choke on my words slightly, but I admit that I was stubborn before. I just wanted to prove to him that I wasn't spoiled.. That I could handle things on my own. I ran away and I was still alive, wasn't I? He sighed slightly, that arrogance never leaving his face. "It wouldn't have to be like this," He started off, finally giving up on this game and starting to walk towards me.. However, I finished up for him. "If you just listened to me?" He stopped in front of me, finding my eyes with his. "Do you want me to help you?" God I should've kept my mouth shut. "Yea, yea I'm sorry." I nodded my head, pressing my lips together. "Alright." He said after looking at me for another few seconds, almost as if he was making sure I was serious in my own words. He moved towards me, but I flinched at each one of his moves, especially when his fingers brushed against my leg. "God, Lana," I wasn't sure if he was once again annoyed with my 'overreacting' or was he talking about my wound.. I just knew that bridal style carrying was crossed over from the lost, cause it hurt bending that way. "Just," I heard a slight chuckle escape his throat before he turned around. "Just hop on my back."
