Chapter 93 Chapter Ninety-Three

Chapter 93 Chapter Ninety-Three
Chapter Ninety-Three

                Mirah

“A hero should never have a weakness. But you obviously have one, and that's going to be your downfall.” Tyler bared his fangs, his words hitting me like an arrow.

I shook my head, trying to shut out his voice.

“Enough!” I growled, pushing him down to his feet.

“You’ve done more harm than good, ex-king. And for that, you'll be punished.” I said, that celestial aura oozing from my body.

“Kill me, then.” He said.

I frowned. The Source didn't want me to kill him.

‘We have to kill him, Da-ji.’ I commanded.

‘He’s a royal, that makes it impossible.’ The Book replied.

“You’re wasting time, Controller.” Tyler prompted.

“Watch out!!” I heard Zeke yell, the same moment a powerful force hit me throwing me to the ground. I groaned, the impact of the fall paralyzing my lower half. Zeke was beside me, his fingers still entwined with mine. I watched as Tyler floated into the air, a triumphant look on his face.

“I’d worked for so many years, waiting for  this moment. I can't allow a mere human spoil my plan, can I?” He said.

But it wasn't his words that made my eyes widen. It was his actions.

He was devouring the dark energy. And it was changing his appearance.

                Zeke

This was totally unexpected.

“What do we do?” Mirah whispered to me, her eyes still trained on Tyler who was still transforming. His hair darkened like the color of the inky black night, and his fangs retreated. His muscles doubled in size, giving him the look of a giant.

“We have to be on alert.” I whispered. I stared closely at Tyler, and what he was doing revealed itself naturally to me. Probably one of the powers of a Source Architect.

“I gave you many chances, Zeke. But you blatantly disregarded them,” Tyler laughed loudly.

It was the first time he'd regarded me as ‘Zeke,’ and not as ‘young prince.’ I glanced at Kai who noted my signal, and shadowed the others to where we were standing.

Swallowing, I closed my eyes.

‘Mirah, can you hear me?’ I delved into her consciousness.

She jolted, but didn't turn to me.

‘How did you do that?’ She asked.

‘I’m your mate, so it's natural now.’ I chuckled.

‘Now, don't turn. Keep an eye on his movements. I'll send someone to save your parents. Tyler's possessed by a Lumi. And we can't get it out without killing him.’ I grunted.

‘He knows we can't kill him,’ Mirah sighed into my mind.

‘And he's using it against us.’ I finished off, glaring hard at Tyler who was now cracking his neck to the side.

“Surrender before it's too late, Tyler!” I called out, to which he laughed.

“I'm not the one in a disadvantageous position, Zeke. You guys are.” He laughed again.

“Our powers combined, are enough to bring you down,” Mirah scoffed, oozing a celestial aura that compelled me to kneel to her feet and worship her.

She looked so breathtaking; like she was born for this.

And this powerful woman was mine. Together, we'll wipe out this abomination.

‘Now, Mirah!’ I ordered, leaping into the air, and taking a backward swoop behind Tyler.

The same time Mirah slashed her sword at Tyler's chest. It wasn't a hit meant to kill. The sword changed into a black magical net successfully trapping Tyler.

He struggled, his glare enough to kill.

“Let me go this instant!” He commanded.

“Tsk, tsk, where did your bravado go?” Mirah made a mocking face at him which fanned the embers of his anger.

My stomach jolted, and I looked around warily. Years in Weasels and countless training had made me mindful of my surroundings, making it easier for me to detect even the slightest change.

‘Mirah, do you sense that?’ I said into her mind.

She didn't respond again, busy tightening her hold on the captured Tyler.

I tried again.

No response.

It was like the path into her mind had been blocked off.

I stood on alert immediately, watching closely at Tyler's movements. This was a man who had successfully stolen the foundation of the Dark realm's power; the Source. The way he'd been captured seemed so easy. Like he actually wanted to be captured.

I wasn't deceived by the angry front he was putting on.

And then it happened. It was like time slowed down. Tyler suddenly got out of the net, and aimed at an unsuspecting Mirah. My loud yell mingled with Natasha's “watch out!”

A loud hit echoed outside, in the dark night.

A loud scream.

Followed by chaotic noises.

When everything had died down, Mirah was still standing at a spot, only that she was frozen. My relief was however short-lived when I looked down and saw my uncle on the floor, dark blood spilling from his back.

“Uncle Xavier!” I screamed, dashing over to where he was lying.

He'd taken the hit that was meant for Mirah.

No!

“It’s fine, I'll be fine. It was meant to happen anyways.” He said, his voice getting weaker.

“Why isn't he healing?!” Mirah cried out, placing his head on her lap.

I glanced at Queen Belinda seeking a response. But she was too shaken to utter a word. It was Xavier who responded in her place. “His sword is laced with Lumi's poison. There's no cure.”

My heart stopped in my throat. I admit that once upon a time I hated this man. I thought he was the villain, and he deserved death. But that was before finding out his sole purpose, and how he'd been helping out behind the scenes. He couldn't die. He just couldn't.

“Don’t make that face, King Zeke. If I die, it's for a good cause.” His voice cracked.

“Stop talking, please. Please.” My eyes reddened, but no tears slipped down. I couldn't recall the last time I cried. But I was about to.

“What are we all doing?! Let's take him back to Gavemorth!” I ordered, my body shaking.

His blood was spilling even faster this time, and his body was turning blue.

He was dying. My chest constricted, and bile rose in my throat.

“Tyler’s gone.” Kai said, but I gave off no reaction.

If anything happened to my uncle, I was going to seek him out, and give him a fate worse than death.

He was going to plead for mercy, begging me to end his life. I was going to torture him until he breathed his last.

“Let’s go back to Gavemorth.” Mirah commanded. She intertwined her fingers with mine. She didn't say a word, but her touch said it all.
