Chapter Thirty-Two-2
"Matt!" I shouted, positioning my mouth away from the microphone. "Finish the last chorus, will you?" I smirked, receiving a reply in the form of a very Matt-like, "Fine, But don't blame me if our fans prefer my voice over yours." I laughed off his mild threat and took off towards the edge of the stage, jumping down in an instant. The crowd went wild in their assumptions that I wanted to crowd surf and although fucking elated, I resisted the urge to do so. I was in need of one woman and one woman only. Rosie. She stood a few metres back and separating us were a couple hundred people, all desperate to get a piece of me. "Will, OH MY GOD! I love you. Kiss me!" screamed one woman, tugging on my leather. Yazmin was no doubt having a fucking fit back stage. She always did advise against audience interaction at such big venues but I couldn't care less. My girl was here and that meant more to me than anything in the world. "Sorry, sugar. No can do," I smiled, addressing her personally. "My girlfriend is here and I doubt she'd be too pleased," I added, pushing through the many bodies. People sneaked cheeky grabs as I passed, though I didn't dare let it stop me. Rosie stood still in her need to not get crushed and as I neared her intoxicating presence, a few audience members seemed to cotton on to what was happening. The rest parted for me like the Red Sea and instantly, I had a clear runway to the most gorgeous woman ever to walk this earth. "Come here, you," I beckoned, hearing Matt take up the third and final chorus. "I got your letter," she smiled, reaching my side in an instant. She clung onto my shoulders for dear life and I instinctively pulled her closer, protective instincts kicking in. "I didn't think you were coming," I admitted, shoving my revelation down her ear. The loud bass made it just about impossible to have a normal conversation, though I was actually grateful for it. At least no one could eavesdrop. "I found the balance," she smirked, resting her forehead to mine. "I'm doing this because it's what I want and Ben has assured me that everything will be fine." "Ben?" Fuck me! She nodded in response, unfazed by the crowd going crazy all around us. "He regrets beating you up." Her green eyes sparkled against the stage lighting, making them appear almost dancing under the many colours. "I regret walking away, sweetheart," I stressed, needing my meaning to sink in. "We learn from our mistakes, remember?" she replied, killing me with her kind soul and ability to forgive almost anything. "Can you do something for me, though? Before we start the rest of our lives." "Anything," I grinned, thanking my lucky stars. I had somehow bagged myself a second chance with this incredible woman and couldn't believe it. "Can you kiss me? All these women are screaming your name and it's kind of unnerving," she laughed. "Think of it as me marking my territory." Needing no more encouragement, I grabbed her waist and pulled her to me, kissing her deeply as I went. All around us, people shrieked their approval and continued to dance, enjoying Matt's voice for all that it was. A damn treat. Full of maturity, his tone flowed into my ears like silk on silk, sickeningly smooth. He may look rough around the edges, but his voice was anything but. "Do you think they got the message?" I asked, rubbing my nose with hers. A head nod was the only response I got, prompting me to kiss her luscious lips again and again and again. "I love you, Rosie Montgomery," I shared, unprepared to stop our kiss. "I love you, Will O'Connor," she smiled, flinging her arms around my neck as I spun us both around and danced along with our fans. Once again, I basked in the greatness of Matt's effortless tone and forced Rosie's mouth to meet my own, desperate for another taste. All sweet with just the right amount of sin, I could drink her in for the rest of my days and die a happy man. I'd never forget that night and would always carry a sense of guilt for killing Simon Montgomery but that didn't mean I'd drown in my own misery. For a while, I thought I was destined for a life of pain but soon discovered that not to be the case. Rosie and her unforgettable kindness had not only shown me life's worth, but rather my own worth. I was guilty of making mistakes in the past but I wouldn't let them dictate my future. I was responsible for my own happiness and by opening myself up and accepting Rosie's love, I was finally in a positive place where I could see an exciting future. Life was unpredictable and we could only but take it one step at a time. Improvise when needed and fight when necessary. I was wrong to have walked out on Rosie and would never make the mistake of doing so ever again. Second chances didn't come often and when they did, you counted your blessings. I was by no means perfect and suspected our relationship would be deemed a joke by many. Journalists would rip us a part and critics would drag our names through the dirt, but none of that mattered. As long as we had each other, we'd be just fine. We were ready to take them on. More than ready. We were ready, Freddie. The End
