Plan B

Joe stayed quietly in his room. He was thinking hard to find a way out to free Briana from Chris' hands. He didn't let anyone into his room. Including the two bodyguards guarding the hospital earlier. They begged his forgiveness for failing to look after Briana.

"Boss, let me in," came Antonio's voice outside his room.

Joe didn't move. He didn't seem to hear Antonio's words out there. Before finding a way to save Briana, he decided not to leave his room.

Joe regretted his own stupidity. How could he enter the frame installed by his brother. He should have realized when he encountered the irregularities he had felt.

"Put the girl in the warehouse," Chris ordered John.

John forcefully pulled Briana's still weak body. He didn't care when Briana whimpered in pain. To him, he was just doing his employer's job.

"Let me go," Briana pleaded.

John pushed Briana into the dark warehouse. Then he quickly closed the door again. There was no pity in his eyes.

"What should I do after this, Boss?" asked John as he went about his business.

Kris looked back, staring at John silently. His hand held a glass filled with drink. He was celebrating his victory.

"You rest first. I don't want to think about anything for now. The most important thing is that Briana is in our hands," Chris said and turned around.

"Okay, boss. I won't bother you anymore. Good night." John left Chris's room. Now he was going to meet his friends. They should celebrate his success this time.

"Guys, let's celebrate our success in this mission," John said loudly and was greeted with loud applause.

Jhon opened several bottles of drink and poured the liquid into glasses brought by all his friends. Tonight they would get drunk to celebrate the success of their task.

Little did they know that someone was watching them in the darkness. That person waited for them until they were unconscious. He wanted to do something after that.

In the morning. Joe called Antonio into his room. There was something he wanted to discuss with Antonio.

"Good morning, boss. I hope you're not too lost in grief," Antonio said after standing in front of Joe. "Have you found a solution to save Briana?"

"Of course I have. I called you here to discuss this matter," Joe replied. He looked more relaxed compared to last night.

"If I may know what it is?"

"I will give her all the assets that father gave her," Joe said.

"You can't possibly do that, boss? Tell me you're not serious about this." Antonio looked straight at Joe. There was no joking in Joe's eyes for once.

"Of course I'm very serious. I have no other way than that," Joe replied.

"But not like that. Mr. Richard must have thought of everything before he gave his assets to you." Antonio tried to convince Joe not to give all his inheritance to Chris.

"I know that but I have no other way. Briana's life is very important to me. I can't just let Briana die," Joe said firmly.

Joe had thought about this problem before. It didn't matter to him if he had to lose all of his father's legacy. For now the most important thing was to save Briana.

"If you insist, I can't do anything," Antonio replied. "I can only carry out your orders. Nothing more."

"Thank you for understanding my decision. You can leave this room. I will contact my brother."

Antonio left Joe's room with shaky steps. He could do nothing to prevent Joe from carrying out his intentions. For Joe, Briana was more important in his life than anything else.

"I want us to meet in private," Joe said after Chris picked up the phone. "It's just you and me. No one else."

Chris laughed widely after hearing Joe's request. His brother must have wanted to talk about Briana. He couldn't understand why his brother would sacrifice so much. It was because of Briana that they had lost their father.

"Where do you want to meet? Just tell me. Don't expect me to just let Briana go," Chris said arrogantly.

Joe mentioned a place and time for them to meet. And Chris agreed to his request. Joe disconnected their phone line.

Two days later. Central Joe was getting ready. He slipped a pistol behind his desk. He had thought of all the bad things that could happen. Chris was a cunning man and could do anything to achieve his faith. Now his brother must have done the same thing as him.

"Get my car ready now," Joe ordered his personal driver.

Joe rushed out. He had to be there in half an hour. He didn't want to be late. It was possible that Chris had set another trap for him. He must not let his guard down.

The car stopped right in front of an abandoned building. Joe had not seen any sign of his brother's presence.

It wasn't long before Chris's car drove up to him. Joe immediately got out of the car. He waited for Chris. His face looked tense.

"How is my brother?" Chris asked mockingly.

"As you can see I'm fine," Joe replied casually.

"So what are you trying to tell me? Don't expect me to let Briana go," Chris said afterwards. "I'm going to kill her soon. So be prepared to wait for good news from me."

"I want to make you an offer," Jo said quickly. "I'll give you my father's entire inheritance if you'll let Briana go."

Chris burst out laughing. Joe's offer was like a joke to him. Of course he wouldn't accept it.

"You already know my answer. All I want is two things. Kill Briana and get what's rightfully mine," Chris said, shaking his head.

"You can't have it both ways," Joe snapped. "I've made you my best offer. End your revenge and you'll get all of Dad's inheritance."

"What if I don't want to do it? What are you going to do with me?"

Joe shrugged his shoulders. "What the hell. Maybe the only way is to kill you."

Chris laughed again. "There's no way you could do that. We're brothers."

"Not really. I'd be happy to kill you. That way I don't have a sneaky brother like you," Joe retorted.

Suddenly Chris got a phone call. He immediately grabbed his cell phone from his coat pocket. It turned out to be a call from John.

"We lost Briana, boss," John told Chris.

"How could that happen?" snapped Chris. Then he looked at Joe. He saw Middle Joe smiling broadly at him. "You're ...." Chris pointed at Joe.

"It was me who did it. You think you're the only one with other plans?" Joe enjoyed the look of red on his brother's face. "Right now Briana is in a safe place."

Chris felt trapped. Then he pulled out the gun he had hidden in his coat pocket. But he was too late. Joe had pointed his gun at him first.
