I was a little confused and at the same time distracted by what Kessler had told me, does he like me? Since when did we only meet two days ago? It has to be a joke on his part since that's impossible.

"Stop saying those things to me," I told him, "you don't even know what you're saying." I rolled my eyes and continued on my way, Kessler obviously followed me.

"It's the truth, Eva, besides, I already told you that I'll accompany you," he stressed.

“Look, Kessler, when my father kicks you out of the hospital, don't tell me anything. Besides, I'm not sure if Lottie wants you here. You should go, seriously.”

"Your father doesn't know me and I don't have a problem with Lottie."

I almost laughed.

“If you say so.”

I proceeded to the front desk and asked for Lottie, I didn't even know her last name.

"Good morning," I greeted the nurse, "I'm looking for information about Charlotte...”

“Johnson.” Kessler completed for me.

I gave him a quick look.

“She just entered the emergency room on the first floor, they have to wait to be checked. "She told us.

“Thank you.” I turned, walking towards the emergency room.

“What do you think of what happened to her? Do you still have the idea that Riley had something to do with it?”

“I don't want to talk about your girlfriend.”

"Well we should because she can be anything you want but she would never do anything to that girl. Lottie never messed with her so...”

"I'll never forget what your girlfriend did to me and the way she treated the wolf," I told his, remembering the way she gave the order to the huge wolf.

Kessler sighed like I was hopeless.

"Okay, I won't keep insisting.”

When I got to the room I looked at my brother and my father in the waiting room. My father is on the phone and Lucas is just sitting.

"Hello, do you hear from Lottie?" I asked Lucas.

"No, they still haven't come out to tell us anything," he replied, looking behind me. "What is he doing here?" Lucas turned from me to face Kessler “what are you doing here?”

Now my father finished talking on the phone and looked at Kessler.

"Hey, calm down. Don't start fighting here because it's not the time either. Eva, come with me” dad took me a few meters away from the two of them. "What did I tell you? I don't want to see you with that boy.”

"He's here for Lottie, Dad," I replied.

"I don't like it when you're around him anyway."

“Why not?” I wanted to know “You speak as if Kessler was a bad person, do you know something? tell me whatever you know”

“I only know that he is the son of the mayoress of the town and his family is very powerful.”

I raised my eyebrows in astonishment when I heard him say that, I didn't know that Kessler was so influential in this town. The son of the mayoress of the town. No wonder they acted like they owned the place.

"If you want, tell him to go away." I turned, going back to where they were.

“What's happening?” Kessler asks me, I sat in a chair and he sat next to me.

“Nothing, only that it makes an impression on me to know that you are the son of the mayoress.”

Sigh.

"Yes, your father already told you...”

Now I understand a little more.

“About what?”

“About your influences in this town.”

"Don't start, Eve.”

“Family of Charlotte Johnson” a doctor leaves the emergency room and when I heard Charlotte's name I quickly stood up. There weren't even any relatives here.

"I just spoke with her parents and they're on their way," my father replies, "how is she?"

“Right now she is very nervous, she came in a very worrying state of shock, we gave her a strong sedative and we treated her injuries, which are not serious. She will sleep all day so there is nothing else to do but let her rest. They can take it away at night.” Saying that, the doctor left.

I breathed a sigh of relief that Lottie would be fine. I remembered all the blood she had in her body, then whose blood was it? It's all very strange.

“What do you think? Charlotte will be fine,” Kessler murmurs next to me.

"Nothing, I'm still worried." I replied, walking down the hall.

“About what?”

"Forget it, Kessler, I'll go back to school."

"I'll take you then," he proposes.

"I don't think your girlfriend would like to see me with you," I answered, although it might not be a bad idea and it would make the girl a little jealous. Also, being with Kessler makes me very nervous and his company gives me peace.

"That doesn't matter, you come with me, period," he replied. I rolled my eyes because I didn't like him acting bossy around me. We left the hospital and got in the car.

•

I knew it. When Kessler's car pulled up in front of the school most of them turned their eyes to us. I got to see Riley with her friends. Kessler got out and came to open my door, I took his hand, feeling an electric shock when I did that, and went downstairs.

"Are you Satisfied?" He asks me.

“Why?”

"Because you got what you wanted, upset Riley."

I shrugged.

“Maybe.”

"See you later, crescent," he tells me, the nickname made me curious but I didn't say anything to him. Kessler stayed explaining to his girlfriend while I went to my class because I still had the afternoon to study.

•

When I got out of class it was five in the afternoon, I had a lot of work to do. Lucas didn't come back to school, I guess he stayed at the hospital waiting for Lottie. I'm impressed that Lucas fell in love with her like that... maybe it's not falling in love but affection. But it's still amazing. I went out into the corridor, it was lonely as if everyone had already left. I had to go on foot and this time alone. I remembered that my father told me that he didn't like me going alone on these roads. I was scared, yeah, because of what happened to Lottie, because of what happened to me. What should I do? I walked down the road feeling watched all the time, I walked as fast as I could, I was relieved when I got home. Not even dad's car and even less Kessler's car were at his house so I guess the boy must have gone there with his dear girlfriend.

I don't know why it makes me angry that he is with her. I don't want to fall in love and even less with someone like Kessler who is an arrogant and worst womanizer, I don't want to, I refuse. I looked for the key and opened the door. It was empty, there was no one in my house. I went to the kitchen to find something to eat...surprise, my father hadn't bought the food yet. What are we supposed to have for dinner? It just can't be. I dialed his cell phone but he didn't answer me.

Brilliant.

I'll have to do it myself. But I don't even know where the supermarket is. I rolled my eyes and snorted, just then the doorbell rang. I went to open the door and regretted it the second.

"Kessler Walton, what are you doing here?" I crossed my arms. Kessler is such a strange guy, why is he always looking for me?

"I thought you needed my help."

“So what?”

“You tell me. I just felt that you need me," he replied, walking into my house as if nothing had happened. "I haven't been here in a long time."

“Oh yeah? Why you said so?”

“Someone used to live here... so it's strange now.”

“Someone? Maybe a girlfriend?”

"Why do you associate everything that has to do with me with women?" He asks me.

"Because you're a ladies' man," I replied. "And I don't want to discuss the same thing." I rubbed my temple.

“Me neither.”

“On second thought, I do need something from you... do you know where the nearest supermarket is? I have to do shopping.”

"Eva Bailey playing housewife? I can't believe it," he scoffed.

“Well, I live with two men so I have to do it” I shrugged “I'll go for the money and you'll take me.”

I went up the stairs to my room, where I looked for the box with my savings. My father would have to pay me back this money later, I'm starving and I need to eat something solid. I took the money, and when I turned around, Kessler was there.
