CHAPTER 43

When I arrived at the hospital, I immediately went to Amir's room. I have also brought our food so that I can keep a closer eye on him. When I got to the fifth floor, I saw the nurse outside. Shouldn't he be in the room and watch the patient closely?

I frowned and raised my eyebrows as I approached him. "Excuse me, but why are you outside? Didn't I ask you to watch over my boyfriend?" Well, I really emphasized that it was my boyfriend inside and not just anyone else.

"Well, his wife and children came." The nurse answered, and when she looked at me, she seemed to want to tell me not to act because I'm just a hook.

"Kimberly? Hmmm fyi, he is not a wife. They are divorced," I said even though I didn't need to explain.

"Oh really? Because the woman said that they will only talk with their children," the nurse said.

"Next time that woman comes back, especially without the children, don't ever let her in. Understood?" I scolded the nurse. Of course, I was shocked by his judgment of me. Because when Kimberly said the word husband, I automatically immediately became attached? Wow!

"Here's the money, have a snack outside first. I'll call you when they leave," I told him.

"Thanks," the woman smiled as she accepted the one-thousand.

"You're welcome," I said. Oh well, I get bored easily, but my kindness is natural. It's not that I'm lifting my own bank, but it's like that. Who else will lift my bank but me? No one knew me completely!

When I entered the room, the two children of Amir and Kimberly immediately smiled. Only Kimberly was not happy. Even if he says the opposite, I know he was not happy when I entered. Because it's insecure!

"I'm going to call the police on the one who beat Sam!" Kimberly's statement.

"You are no longer in a position to interfere in his life, Kimberly." I said. What right does it have? Is it because she is the mother of Ameerah and Akeem?

"Correction, Jamie! I have all the right because I used to be his wife, and the mother of his kids!" Kimberly insisted.

"That's right. You used to be his wife, and I am the girlfriend. And the disturbance happened in my house so I'm the only one who has the right to call the police just in case, and I also need Sam's opinion about that." I said.

"You're just a girlfriend, my position as the mother of the children is even heavier." Kimberly's statement.

"Kids, just a moment. Watch your Mouth first and your Mama and I will just talk," I said to the children.

"Sure, Aunt Jamie." Akeem answered.

I pulled Kimberly's hand to make sure it would come out too. And when we were both outside, my eyes narrowed as I looked at the woman from head to toe. I have nothing to criticize. I think Kimberly's nails are also perfect. That's why, I can't just let it go. "As beautiful as you are, your behavior is also ugly. You seem uneducated in front of the children," I said and his ears perked up a bit when he heard what I said. It's true!

"How dare you!" Kimberly said.

"How dare you too! If you look up, you still look like you. Maybe you forgot how much you hurt Sam back then!" I really blamed him for the past because he didn't see how desperate Sam was to live! "Aren't you ashamed of what you're doing, Kimberly?"

"I was young then and I didn't know right from wrong." The woman explained but she wasn't looking at me directly.

"Young or old, you probably know that it's not right to just leave your parents, right?" I continued to scold him, and I was just shocked when he couldn't answer my words.

"What right do you have to reprimand me? Sam didn't even mJamiege to scold me for everything!" Kimberly's eyes sparkled as she stared at me.

As if I'm afraid! Hayys, even if his eyeballs fall to the floor in anger, I will not help him. "He never reprimanded you for the sake of the children so don't make me act like that!" I told him.

"You thought maybe Amir was going to marry you, what? Remember that you have different religions," Kimberly said while shaking her head as if she knew my future.

"I'm not after her for marriage, eh. It was enough for me that he loved me, and I loved him. That's enough for us!" I said.

"You are delusional!" Kimberly shouted so people kept looking at us.

"Maybe. I do not know." I said and just shrugged my shoulders. "You have been silent, why did you decide to return to Amir? Did you replace him sloppily?"

"I don't love the person the Pope chose for me," replied Kimberly.

I don't know but I suddenly felt sorry for his situation. I also know that one of the reasons why Amir and Kimberly's relationship didn't work was because of the girl's father. "You're too old to let anyone control you, even if it's your father." I said.

"The lives of us elites are different, Jamie. I wish I could grow up like you, coming from a poor family." Kimberly answered sadly.

Well, it's really just a trip. Eh, what I said to him was nice and then what he got back was garbage. He still has a sad expression on his face because the words he said still hurt. Their elite lives? Fuck! "You can do that, Madam. You're elite, huh." I said.

Kimberly must have been upset by our exchange of words because she suddenly came back inside and took the children. I would have liked to talk to the two children but he did not want to leave his children at the hospital. I didn't complain because he has more rights to his children.

Amir was already awake when I entered and I immediately smiled at him. "How are you feeling?" I asked him.

"It's pretty okay, so I'd like to go out," said the man even though it was difficult for him to speak.

Every grimace of Amir's face, I feel that something hurts me too. "You want to go out, you're not okay yet," I told him.

"I'm just at the hotel. I have a doctor there," explained Amir.

I studied his face carefully and when I saw the desperation in his eyes, I nodded even though I knew it would be difficult to convince his doctor. "I will talk to your doctor," I said.

Anyway, it would be good if he stays at the hotel because I have to go back to work. My vacation is over and I need my beauty at Khalifa.

I took out the porridge I bought from the bag. Foods that are too solid are not allowed for men because it might make it difficult to discharge. "I bought a porridge, I'll try it on you." I said but Amir just shook his head. "You do not want?" I asked the man.

"I want fried chicken," answered the man in a child-like voice. It imitated Akeem.

"Gosh, if you weren't injured, I might have hit you there. Go ahead, look!" My order.

Even though he was struggling, he still managed to smile. "Thank you," he said.

"Just thank you? There's a fee, oh!" I joked with him.

"It's really hard when the bride looks like money," he said shaking his head after swallowing a spoonful of porridge.

"What? I'm really going to kill you! Hurry up and eat because I have something else to do for you, eh." I told the man but he just laughed like a fool. "Shit, what are you thinking? I'm not that flirtatious, no! It's just a sponge bath because you smell like onions," I said seriously but I really stopped myself from laughing.

Amir tried to smell her armpit and frowned. "Of course not." He says.

"Luhhh, I'm just kidding my love. Kiss me, I missed you for a few minutes, eh." I said and immediately kissed his forehead. "Do you still have feelings for Kimberly?" I asked him but before he could speak to answer me I covered his mouth. I don't think I can hear if he ever says that there is more, because it is impossible that it will suddenly disappear because of me. "I'll be right back, I'll just talk to your doctor." I gave him another kiss before I left the room.

When I was outside, I asked myself why I felt so cowardly all of a sudden. I used to be able to tell him what I wanted to say. Apparently, our conversation is always uncensored.

I sighed again because of the thought.

If the Tide commercial was surprising, I was even more surprised by what I saw. My eyes almost didn't return to normal when I blinked a few times. "Brent?" I asked for his name to make sure I wasn't being played by fairies.

"Jamie…," he answered and his voice still had a crackle while staring at me.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him again.

"Is Amir inside?" Brent replied with a question.

"Probably. He's not out here, huh." I answered him properly because it was obvious that the patient was inside. Why not just hang around in the lobby, right?

"Jamie, of course. I asked properly," Brent complained.

"I answered you properly, eh. How should it be?" I asked him.

"Can I talk to him?" Brent asked for permission to talk to Amir.

My eyebrows immediately Ruby. "Why? Aren't you satisfied that you broke his bones?"

"I didn't mean to!" Brent's voice also Ruby.

Why, fighting! "You know yourself that you are stronger than him, but you still go! You're angry, that's why you want to hurt!" I reminded him what happened.

"Yes! I admit that I am stronger than Amir. I'm only weak to you, eh." Brent stretched, but of course, I don't care how many more lines he releases.

"Because you let me get cold so I'm making others warm," I answered him.

"You can put it back on the fire so it doesn't get cold," Brent insisted while staring at me.

"Only food can be reheated," I said.

"Jamie please..." she begged. "I want to apologize to your late boyfriend," he added.

"Be careful what you say, Brent. Maybe you forgot who he was in my life," I reminded him that Amir was heavier than me.

"I still won't give up, Jamie. I will do everything to make you fall in love again," he said.

"Oh really? Why don't you fix your relationship with Michelle? Your child is really poor," I said.

"I am not Elise's real father but I loved her as if she were my own," said Brent.

"Hmmm, it seems that Madam Karma has been busy with you, what? You left me and our child to stand as a father to a child that is not yours. You've been put on the head, you're still there for him. Maybe you are meant for each other. Try to work out your relationship, maybe it will work," I suggested to him. But honestly, I felt sorry for him just a little.

"Hey, you feel sorry for me, what?" He teased me.

"Because you are a victim," I said. "If you really want to talk to Amir, just come back another time because I don't want him to be stressed now, eh."

"Is there really no room for me in your heart, Jamie?" The man asked again.

"Oh my gosh, are we just going to do it again and again?"
