Chapter 72 Chapter Seventy- Two
Chapter 72 Chapter Seventy- Two
Keira
Without turning, I knew who the voice belonged to. Michael. Aiden's beta, and right hand man. More like his puppet dog. I scoffed, and managed an uninterested glance at him the same moment the entrance door pushed open, and Aiden walked inside.
He still excluded that aura that made the pathetic me fall so hard for him. Eish, now, it made me want to laugh at him.
“What do you all think you are doing?” His voice was hard.
I blinked, sighed a little, shook my hair about, and pushed Rena aside. I walked over to Aiden jus a second before Rena cried up to him,.and started explaining bullshit to him in a coquettish voice.
“Long time no see, Alpha Aiden.” I offered him a small fake smile. That was how far my generous heart could afford. My eyes trailed over to Rena's hands clutching tight around Aiden's arm. “I see Rena is now your... wife?” I nodded. “Not bad. Should I offer my congratulations, or is it too late now?”
All these while, he was busy staring at me, his expression was a little too warm for what I thought I'd get as his gratitude for my little gift to him.
“Keira!!”
“Hmm-mmm. That's me. Why? You don't miss me, what's with that expression on your face? Trying to fake an act,” I scoffed. I made sure my voice was filled with disgust when I said, “No need to thank me for the gift, it was the only thing I could offer you at short notice. Well, all said, I will take my leave now.”
“Keira.” He called behind me. I paused walking. Keira? Well, some corrections needed to be made.
I turned around. “It seems you are thinking I am the same as the person you once knew.” I cleared my throat a little. “Incase you don't know, let me do the honour of letting you know that you are to address me as Alpha Keira. If you care to know what life without your tongue feels like, you can try calling my name without the appropriate title.”
He scoffed. As expected. He advanced towards me. “What kind of scheme are you trying to pull?” He stopped only one step closer to me. “Do you take me for a fool?”
I laughed. “Is it possible to make a fool out of someone who is already a fool?”
“I don't want to.make this matter escalate more than it already has, shut up, and I will forget your wife insulted me.” My eyes trailed to the side over his shoulders at Rena who was sniffling.
Seriously. What a show of pure stupidity.
“Or you can chose to do otherwise, and have yourselves to blame.”
“Well, I chose to do otherwise.” He gripped my arm, and dragged me back towards where Rena was. I didn't miss the smirk on her face when Aiden asked me to kneel, and apologize to his wife.
Wow. Did he really think I was still the Keira he knew? Even though I was, I would never have knelt down before Rena, worse still apologize to her.
“I said you should kneel this instant, and apologize to her.” He growled. I didn't flinch, instead I sighed out loud.
I turned around. The gathering which was small has now become a full gathering of different head sizes.
I could decide to make this all the more fun. I could knell down this instant, and Aiden would immediately know I was married to someone ten times powerful than the entire of Stormfang clans combined, or I could decide to just call Damien to come with my men, mad teach Rena, and Aiden a little lesson. And that would mean they'd only know I was now an Alpha, the fact that I was married would remain hidden to them.
My eyes flickered from Rena's smirking face, to Aiden's hardened face. Nah. I shook my head around gently. There was no way I'd go for the latter. “Fine.” From the corner of my eyes, I saw Rena's face lit up.
She must be quite happy to be having her way with me always. She now knew I was the Keira whom she was busy smooching around with her husband. She must be happy to think she was still in the position to humiliate me.
Funny.
I turned to the people behind me. “Everyone, please leave us. Thank you.” In less than ten minutes, only the four of us were left, Michael included.
“I will kneel.” I sounded like one left with no other choice.
“As you should.” Rena chipped in while still maintaining the satisfied smile on her face.
My knees were halfway down to the ground.
The move was so swift, and fast that I didn't register it coming. One second, I was about to kneel down, the next second, Kaelan's hands were around my waist, while Aiden was groaning with blood rolling down his nose.
“Are you okay?” Kaelan turned to me. He touched my face gently, his eyes searched mine as if he would detect a tiny bit of discomfort.
“Well, I think so.” I murmured. “His wife slapped me, and tried to strangle me.”
He frowned deeply before looking away. He glanced at Aiden who was still busy nursing his broken nose. “How dare you touch my wife?” He growled at Rena who immediately ran to seek protection from Aiden.
The air in the building changed. It became heavy, and tight to breath through the senses air. I could hear the whooshing sound of air outside. His Alpha aura. Damn... He could kill Rena, and Aiden if he laid a finger on them.
I rushed forward, and touched him gently on the arm. “Calm down.” I murmured. He bluntly ignored me.
He gripped both people by their necks, lifting them up. “Did you have no idea that she is the Alpha of the pack where you dare to mess around. And also that she is the wife of an Alpha king? My own wife.” His grip tightened around Aiden's neck.
At that moment, it was becoming difficult for him to breathe.
“Kaelan?” My voice was a desperate plea.
Not that I didn't like that Kaelan was teaching them a lesson for trying to humiliate me before everyone at the boutique. But I wanted to deal with them myself, and it won't calm me down to know he snuffed lives out of them in such a public area.
“Kaelan?” I called again.
I exhaled softly when he let go of them, and they fell to the ground gasping for air. “Get out of my face before I change my mind.” His voice was cold, and harsh.
They ran out without taking one glance back at me. I knew better than anyone watching the show that Aiden was sure to plan something against me. Maybe not now, but soon. I could only wish I knew what he was going to do.
“Why did you do that?” Kaelan eyed me.
We were currently on our way back to the castle, Kaelan insisted I took more than the gown I originally decided to go with, I had no choice but to do as he asked even though I had more than enough dresses already.
“Do what?” I plastered on a look of surprise like I had no idea what he was talking about.
He turned to me, then leaned in closer to my face. “Don't play dumb with me, Keira. Why the fuck were you about to go on your darn knees for that bastard?” He growled. His veins bulged in anger.
“Oh, calm down, will you.” I chuckled. “Why will I do such a thing? It was merely for the show. I know you won't show up, so I had to do that. You see,” I inched my face close, his fast breath fanned my face. “I really itched to show them who my husband was. I couldn't think of any perfect way to show to them that I am married to someone like you, this was the only idea that popped in, so I decided to go for it.”
His lips turned up in a smile swallowing up the anger on his face. “I didn't know you could brag too.”
“I wasn't–” I tried to protest, but he cut me off with a finger on the middle of my lips.
“And yet you didn't simply tell them you are a married woman, instead you decided putting on a show was the perfect opening for you,” His finger moved down my lips to my neck, he moved his fingers to the back of my neck, and allowed it rest there.
“You look beautiful when you try to argue.” He murmured.
I scoffed, and pushed his hands off my neck. “Whatever.” I turned my face outside the car window.
Two seconds later, and I was sitting on Kaelan's laps, my hands pressing on his chest for support, while my mouth was agape still in shock at how swift he lifted me up. “What's with the face?” He asked me.
I shook my head. “Nothing.”
He laughed. “You look damn beautiful when you look pissed off.”
“I guess from now on, you are going to try and do everything to just make me upset.”
“No, no,” He said in-between laughs. “Come on darling wife. Okay,” He lifted his hands up, and bent his head a little to rub at my hands which was still pressing down on his chest. “ I am sorry, I won't do that again.”
A snort flew off before I could hold it back. “You will definitely do it again. Apology not accepted.”
He lifted his head up, and looked at my face. I looked away. He held my chin, and made me look him. “Well... I can't really assure you that you have my entire word that I won't do it again, however, I know more than a thousand ways to apologize to you each time.”
“It won't–”
“Don't be so confident,” His hand dropped down to my chest. He touched my breasts, alternating from left to right. He gave them a soft squeeze at intervals then he'd press a finger down on the nipple through my dress. All along, his eyes never left mine.
“You don't even know what I was about to say.” I was still grumbling when he dragged at my right nipple, and I yelped out.
“The ones I heard is enough to help me towards where you were headed. You are certain you won't forgive me even after apologizing through my ways.”
He didn't wait for my response. Not like I was putting efforts to conjure words.
“How about I try to apologize to you, my darling wife?” That was no question, neither was it a request. Permission? I fought a snicker. Has Kaelan ever waited for my permission to touch me? His hands simply always moved before his brain, and I think I kind of liked it.
“Don't tell me you are scared?” He teased.
I scoffed. “As if I will be.”
“Perfect then.” That was all he said before taking a hand to the back of my neck, and bringing my head close for a kiss.
I shut my eyes, and relaxed into the kiss, loving every inch of how his hands moved hungrily all over my body. My hands moved away from his chest upwards, I rubbed lightly at the spot where my bite mark was.
Happiness bubbles in my chest. It filled me with immense joy anytime I looked at his neck, and saw the mark there. It always gave me a silent reminder that this man was mine, and mine alone. I won't have to cry anymore, slave, and beg for his love.
Or maybe, that was what I wanted to believe.
Kaelan loves me, and would still have loved even if I wasn't his mate. And even if I didn't want to admit, I knew I loved Kaelan whether he was my mate or not.
As his hands moved down underneath my dress, I knew already I was going to make the man behind the wheels go partially deaf.
