Chapter 206 I'M GOING TO MARRY HER

Chapter 206 I'M GOING TO MARRY HER
I'M GOING TO MARRY HER.
KAI'S POINT OF VIEW
It was a bad word, but I didn’t care.
“Yes…um…you know that thing people do…uh..mommy calls it a getaway.” She blinked, her hand under her chin. She had on a sweater and jeans, her dark hair framing her face.
“Oh, a vacation.” I corrected.
“That's what I said.” She shrugged her shoulders with a smile. I grabbed the bottle of chocolate and took a gulp. I didn't like it, but she brought it for me….there was no way I could leave it like that after her trouble.
“So…what sort of game is this?” she asked, her eyes shiny as she stared at the chains. “Is it fun?”
“What?”
“Do you play with other people? I wanna play too.”
“It’s not a game, Aurroa,” I said, unsure of whether or not I should tell her how I got here. If I did, Mom would find her… and she would hurt her too.
“Oh?” she tilted her head to the side like a cat. “So why are you down here then? It's dark, and dirty….and smelly.” She wrinkled her nose. “Don’t you want to play outside?” That reminds me…
“How did you get down here?” I turned to her, but she shook her head.
“Down here? What do you mean?” she smiled like I was silly. “We aren’t down here…this is a small shed behind mommy and daddy’s house. Anyone can come in here.” A loud beep erupted in my ears….we were not in a basement.
“Um…Aurora…do you know where we are?”
“What do you mean?” She asked, her focus on the bag. She pulled out a blanket.
“Is this….are we in Westridge?”
“What, No? We’re not even in Seattle.” She giggled at me like I was silly. “This is Spain.” The loud beep returned, my tongue dry all over again. Were we in another country? No…..how is dad expected to find me now?
I thought I only had to wait for him to be home….but he could be home right now, searching for me, and not know that I'm here.
A tight fist closed around my heart, and it became much harder to breathe. Aurora stared at me, her eyes wide with fear and panic. She rushed to me, her small hands tapping my dirt-covered face softly. “Skai….Skai….what is it?” Her lower lip wobbled, tears coating her eyelids. “Wait…I know what’ll fix the pain.” She sniffled.
I heard a rustling, and then, sweet. A sweet, fruity taste burst in my mouth, followed by the taste of her finger. “Skittles always help.” She smiled, wiping her tears with the back of her hand.
I stared at her, the tightness reducing with each suck of the candy. Her smile…there was something about it. When she first entered, I’d thought she’d be like those girls at school.
Loud, high-pitched, and so annoying….I only entertained her when I saw she had food. But now, I found myself hoping she would return, praying I’d see her again. Even if she didn’t have any food.
“How…..how long have you known about this place?” I whispered, my voice coming out hoarse. She blinked at me before counting with her fingers.
“Two weeks…fourteen days.” My eyes widened. I looked at the ceiling, fear, terror, panic, and despair coursing through me. I licked my dry lips. It was now or never….if I didn’t do this, Mom would come back, and I might put myself in danger…or worse…her.
“I…I need help, Aurora.” She nodded at once, a determined look on her face.
“What can I do? I can help.”
“C-can you bring your mom here with you, please?” I pleaded, hoping she would. I didn’t want to spend another day in here… or another second. I wanted to go home…I needed to go home.
“Okay….but promise me something.” She held her hand out, a hopeful look crossing her features. I didn’t hesitate; I grabbed her hand.
“Anything.” I meant it.
“Promise me, you’ll still be my friend.”
I’d do her one better. If she saved me from the monsters here, I would marry her.
